An Awkward Split

Saharah was in town yesterday, and she lost her map. She asked me to make some deliveries for her, and I agreed to help.

Saharah: All my addresses...gone! My deliveries! My customers! What is a camel to do?!

So I delivered some wallpaper to Mabel and some carpeting to Tom Nook. When I returned to Saharah, she offered me some ringside seating or a concrete floor. I chose the wallpaper.

Benedict told me he was hunting for fossils, but he said he’s not in it for the money. He said his true love is finding rare fossils…and gloating about them to Bunnie. 😂

Benedict: My true love is finding rare fossils...and gloating about it to Bunnie.

Rolf was trying to move out of town, but I eventually got him to reconsider.

Today, Antonio wanted to have a competition to see who could catch a pill bug first. Since those are among the easiest bugs to catch, I agreed to the contest. A pill bug popped out of the very first rock I banged, and Antonio gave me 510 bells for the bug.

Antonio: OK, trading time, baby! Bammity, wee baby! 510 bells!

Margie gave me a free “A” shirt. I was overdue to change my clothes, so I decided to put on my new threads ASAP.

Goldie asked me for a fossil, so I gave her one of the ones I dug up today (a pachy tail). She was really happy with it, and she gave me a ranch armchair in return.

In front of the museum, I listened in on a conversation between Antonio and Margie…and I’m glad I did. Antonio warned Margie to stay away, because he just split his pants.

Antonio: Uhhhhh...I was just doing a set of thunder squats, and I kinda split my pants.

Margie laughed at Antonio’s predicament, but then she came to a surprising realization: Antonio doesn’t wear pants. So she wondered what exactly split! 😮

Margie: Hey, wait a sec. You don't wear pants. So, then... What split?!?!

That’s a good question, and yet, I’m afraid that I don’t want to know the answer. 😂

Bunnie vs. Mathilda

Bunnie asked me to make a delivery for her tonight, so I took a blossom shirt over to Mathilda. But Mathilda outright hated it!

Mathilda: A blossom shirt, for crying out loud! This is totally ridiculous!

When I told Bunnie the news, she said that Mathilda is nuts. The two of them were just getting along so well on Bunnie’s birthday, so I wonder what happened!

Bunnie: That Mathilda is nuts...

But she did give me a cityscape wall for making the delivery.

When I visited Big Top, he wanted to have a competition to see who could catch a crawfish first.

Big Top: I'll show you just how much I love the crawfish!

Goldie pinged me and gave me a gift that she thought she could picture me having: a flame shirt.

Goldie: I thought you'd like having a flame shirt around the house.

I think there was a good reason that she could picture me with one: Because I was already wearing one! 😛

Since it’s Saturday night, I went down to the Roost to enjoy some live music. K.K. Slider performed K.K. Ragtime for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Ragtime!

After the show, I checked out the ponds for a crawfish. It didn’t take me long to find one, so I took it back to Big Top. He happily took it from me, and he gave me a tartan rug in return.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone! Never Stop Crossing! 🙂

Bunnie’s Birthday

Today is Mother’s Day, and I received a letter from Mom in the mail. Basically, she wanted to know why she was writing me instead of me writing to her! 😛

Dear Jeff, It's Mother's Day, so why am I writing you? You should be writing ME! Write! -Mom

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! 🙂

I found a note in a bottle on the beach, from a big brother to a little brother. He says that Mom worries about them both, so they should go home for a visit. It almost sounds like it could be a Mother’s Day-related note, but I’m not sure if it is or not.

To my little brother, I'm going home later this month and you should come, too. Mom worries! -Your big brother

Today was also Bunnie’s birthday, so I hopped on over to her party. I gave her a modern chair that I bought at Nookington’s. She really seemed to enjoy it, and she gave me a cabana screen.

Bunnie: I wouldn't sell our friendship for a bazillion bells, J-puff!

Mathilda was also at the party, which is getting to be a common sight. She was also at Margie’s party (this year and last year) and also Victoria’s party last year. Maybe she’s Forest’s party planner. 😛

There was one aspect of birthdays that Bunnie didn’t care for, though: She’s afraid that she won’t be cute when she grows up. Aww, poor Bunnie, don’t worry. You’ll still be cute!

Bunnie: Growing up is fun. But I wanna be gut-wrenchingly cute forever!

Goldie wanted to move out of town for some reason, but I was able to talk her out of it (after several tries).

Antonio wanted to have a competition to see who could catch a common butterfly first, and I agreed to the challenge. I just didn’t know how hard it would actually be! Perhaps because of how few flowers I currently have in town, I had trouble finding butterflies. And when I did see one, it was a yellow butterfly or a tiger butterfly, not the white “common” one.

So it took me more than 20 minutes, but I did eventually catch the common butterfly. I returned to Antonio, and thankfully, he didn’t catch one yet…so I won. He gave me an exquisite rug as my prize.

Antonio: What?! You caught one already? That's insane!

I posted my latest Wild World video episode today. It features highlights of things that happened in Forest from the end of December through early April. I hope you enjoy it!
