How Fate Works

On Wednesday, I found Pascal standing near the ocean. He told me that sea serpents are the Sasquatches of the sea. Um, that’s good to know. I guess. 😆

Pascal: Sea serpents are the Sasquatches of the sea, maaannn.

He then gave me an anchor and dove into the sea himself. Maybe he’s going to search for that elusive sea serpent. Good luck, maaan.

Octavian asked me to deliver a gift to Dotty, and it turned out to be a pink tartan. Dotty called it a “safe choice,” but didn’t seem very enthused about it. When I told Octavian she thought the gift was just okay, he said that next time, he’ll just send trash! 🗑️

Octavian: It didn't go over well? Weird. Next time, I'll just send a bunch of TRASH.

He rewarded me with a mod wall, and I didn’t dare tell him it was just okay. 😉

Yesterday, I shot down a balloon present in the afternoon. I found a mini-lamp inside.

There was a new “Talking to Myself” post on the bulletin board, and it’s one I haven’t shared in the blog before. It’s about wishing from the heart…and fate.

-Talking to Myself- Wish from your heart, and it's sure to come true... But sometimes not quite. That's how fate works.

Today, Octavian asked if I’ve been saving up for a rainy day. I told him yes, and he was surprised that I’ve saved up so much (even though I never told him how much it was). He said it was good, because I can’t collect shells forever, like a little kid.

Octavian: ...Well, I guess you can't collect shells all the time like some little kid.
No, I collect bugs and fossils like a little kid. 😆

He said he wants what’s best for me, not that he’s my dad or anything. Yeah, I’d probably have more arms if he was my dad.

Octavian: That's right! Not that I'm your dad or anything...

Over by the museum, Tank was talking about his desire to go fishing. He said he wants to go grab a ship and catch something huge! How are you just going to grab a ship, though?

Tank: Looking at the frothy sea makes me wanna grab a ship and catch something huge!

Bones has still been sick with a cold this week, so I gave him some more medicine Wednesday, yesterday, and again today. Hopefully he’ll get better soon. I hate when these things drag on for weeks.

If you haven’t yet seen my latest video, here is Episode 65. It covers events from April and early May:

I’ll be back with more next week. Have a good weekend! 🙂

Alkaline Foods

I accidentally listened in on a conversation between Octavian and Tank tonight. Octavian told Tank to not just eat meat, because he needs some veggies too. But rhinos are herbivores, so when exactly does Tank eat meat? 😆

Octavian: You gotta eat some veggies, man! If you don't, you'll get all alkaline inside!

Tank wondered what happens if he gets “all alkaline inside,” so he asked Octavian to elaborate.

Tank: Alkaline... Yikes. What happens then, kerPOW?

But Octavian couldn’t explain, because he only saw it as a headline in a magazine…and he didn’t actually read the article. 😛

Octavian: I was flipping through this magazine and just read this headline about it.
Octavian: I didn't actually read the article.

But the conversation got even weirder when Octavian started ranting that life is all about making your boss feel important? I literally have no idea what he was talking about here. Who’s the boss?

Octavian: It's about making your boss feel important when he's yappin' on and on.

At this point, Tank decided to explain the whole thing about alkaline foods.

Tank: First, there are two kinds of food, alkaline and acidic...

Octavian was mad that Tank actually knew what the whole “alkaline” thing was about, after seemingly playing dumb about it.

Octavian: Ugh! So why didn't you say something, smartie-pants? I mean, yip yip!

Octavian stormed off angry. What an odd conversation.

Anyway, Saharah was in town tonight. She asked me to deliver some wallpaper to Mabel and some carpeting to Blathers. I complete both tasks, and there was no third delivery required this time. Saharah then rewarded me with a concrete floor.

Saharah: Do you want a lunar horizon or a concrete floor?
I’ve already had both of these before, so I just picked one.

My buddy Bones was sick with a cold, so of course I gave him some medicine. Get well soon, doggo!

Bones: HACK! HACK! HACK! Thanks. You're awesome.

Drift was trying to move out of town tonight, but I got him to change his mind. I know it’s been a while since I’ve willingly let someone move out, so maybe I should consider it at some point soon. But not today.

I’m hoping to have my next Wild World video episode done over the weekend, so keep an eye out for that. Never Stop Crossing!

Tadpole, Flea Market

On Wednesday, Drift was talking about how he enjoyed swimming when he was younger. He wants to get back into it.

Drift: Ah, swimming... My childhood favorite! I wanna get into it again!

But he said maybe he only liked it because he was a tadpole at the time!

Drift: Whoa, but maybe I just loved it then because I was a tadpole, rrrrribbit!

I loved this bit of dialogue, for two main reasons. For one thing, it’s so rare to get species-specific dialogue not just in Wild World, but throughout the series. Especially when it’s more than just them mentioning their species.

But also, this bit of dialogue is programmed to list a random sport. If you saw Episode 63, you saw this dialogue, except with baseball mentioned instead. But this time, he mentions swimming, which fits perfectly! He literally had to swim as a tadpole, and doesn’t as a frog. Not since this ACCF screenshot have I seen dialogue fit so perfectly. 😛

May is here now, and I earned 56,000 bells of interest on my banking account balance.

On Thursday, Dotty told me that she’s on a cola diet. She feels like she has to drink ten gallons of cola every day! I don’t think that’s a very good idea, Dotty. 😆

Dotty: I have to drink ten gallons of cola every single day!

Today, I found Lyle hanging out outside my house again. I spoke with him, just to see what he wanted now. I’ve already purchased all of his scams “insurance” policies, after all. He gave me his questionnaire again, which includes the option to select Redd’s day to visit. So apparently you can change it on a week-by-week basis? I left it on Tuesdays, though. The rest of Lyle’s questionnaire was pointless stuff, but it was nice to not have him bugging me to buy anything else.

The flea market was held today, and Octavian demanded that I go home and clean my “pigsty” of a house! How rude!

Octavian: I'm gonna shop for stuff at your house next, so you'd better clean that pigsty!

He was so sure that he was going to be a guest in my house, but the joke was on him. I had no interest in having him over, so I didn’t go home at all during my session. 😛

Octavian: I'm gonna be a guest in your house, dadblastit! Yip yip!

But I did participate in the flea market by shopping at my villagers’ homes. Of course, I only looked for cheap items to buy though. 😆 However, Dotty refused to sell me this No. 23 shirt because it was a “family heirloom.” Yeah, she’s totally lying. 😛

Dotty: Oh, no! Sorry! That one is, like, a family heirloom! I totally can't sell it!

So I didn’t buy anything from her, and Tank wasn’t being very cooperative either. He wouldn’t sell me either of his bugs or his No. 1 shirt. But he did sell me his tall gongoid for 1,140 bells.

I also bought a life ring from Caroline (310 bells) and an office chair from Bones (280 bells). Bones was so happy that he could use his money to buy some good food. Aw, that made me glad I made the purchase. 🙂

Bones: I'm gonna go out and get some primo grub with these 280 bells.

I played too early in the day to catch K.K.’s show, but I’m sure I’ll see him again before long. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
