On Wednesday, I listened in on a conversation between Pippy and Drift. Pippy asked if Drift has been watching her!

Drift admitted to it, because he wants to prepare for an epic battle against her.

Pippy was confused by this, because she had no plans of being in a battle against him.

So, she thought he was a psycho. And she’s probably right. 😛

Drift tried to justify it by saying he imagined himself losing to Pippy. I don’t know, my villagers are just weird.

I thought I’d try a late-night bug hunt, like the ones I do in City Folk. I started before 10:30 p.m., so I’d be able to hunt for half an hour before the shop closed. But in that span, I wasn’t finding many rare bugs. I caught a rainbow stag, a goliath beetle, and an atlas beetle…but everything else was a 1,000-bell bug or less!

I only made 36k in 30 minutes, and I probably could’ve done better than that by just gathering fruit! So I won’t be posting a video of that. However, after the clock struck 11:00, I was suddenly seeing more (and better) bugs! So I decided that I would try again Thursday night, but at 11:00 instead of 10:30. The bad thing is that I’d be unable to sell my catches, so I could only fill up my pockets once. I recorded a gameplay session of that… Update: Here it is.

Today, Filbert told me he had been looking for a popeyed goldfish. I thought this was going to be a request (or a competition), but it was just dialogue. Apparently, he felt a bit dumb because he hasn’t been able to find one yet. Aww, poor guy.

I saw a big fish shadow in the river, and I fished out a giant snakehead. That’s a fish I don’t see very often! I think I best remember it as the last fish I caught in the GameCube game (when I first completed my fish collection, in 2007).

I actually found two items in the recycle bin at town hall today: a kiddie stereo and a Nintendo bench. Nice!

Curt has still been sick this week, so I gave him more medicine Wednesday, Thursday, and again today. Get well soon, Curt!

Tuesday (July 15th) was Caroline’s birthday, so I headed over to her party. But she seemed surprised to see me, and she didn’t even remember inviting me! Yikes, that made me feel unwanted. 😛

I gave her a rock guitar for her gift, and she seemed to enjoy it. But then again, she said she would’ve been just as happy with my belly button lint. Gross. 🤢

She then gave me a glow clock in exchange for the belly button lint rock guitar. Curt was also at the party, talking about how it must be nice to be young…and then he said “fuzzball.” But that’s just his catchphrase, and he’s not specifically referring to the fuzzy ball of belly button lint that Caroline wanted. 😆

The next day, it was raining in town. Whitney got her outfit wet, and she said it was traumatizing.

Robin realized that she was ten minutes late for the reapplication of her lipstick. Does she apply it to her beak? Because birds don’t have lips. 🤔

Pippy was at home, so I got to see the inside of her house now that she has unpacked. But it looks more like her back yard than the interior of a house. Still, I took a quick nap on her hammock.

Today, Drift told me to get ready to rock…in a very rocky way. 🪨

He thought that expression was “rad enough” to be the catchphrase of the year. But I thought his repetitive remarks and repeated “rocks” render it remarkably redundant.

Curt was sick with a cold today, so I gave him a dose of medicine.

When I visited Caroline, she was (somehow) able to see that I’ve collected every type of bug.

She was amazed and impressed. I know I’ve seen this dialogue before from other characters, but it’s such a cute reaction for villagers to have. 😊

Whitney was packed up and ready to move out of town, but I was able to talk her of it. Unpack your boxes, wolf girl!

On Wednesday, Robin told me that she’s happiest when she can relax in her own home…on a pizza.

Filbert asked me to deliver a letter to Truffles, because he doesn’t trust the post office to get it to the right person.

Even though Filbert didn’t want anyone other than Truffles to read it, Truffles was eager to read it with me. 😆

In the letter, Filbert admitted to eating a 20-pound cherry delight. When I told him the delivery was done, he rewarded me with a stone wall.

Yesterday, I listened in on a conversation: Caroline asked Truffles what kind of cake she would be, if she could be a cake. 😆

Truffles already knew the answer. She’d be a carrot cake. 🥕

Truffles said she thinks about this all the time, and she said she’d have a delicious frosting hat.

Caroline said that she might be a cheesecake because she likes cheese, but she hasn’t put much thought into it. Truffles scolded her for not planning for situations like this. This game is so crazy sometimes.

Today, Tank’s replacement moved in. Say hello to Pippy the rabbit.

I kind of like her, but she’s definitely not one of my favorites. It’s funny though, how villagers can remind you of people (former friends, for example) that really liked that villager.

Even though I do extended bug-catching sessions in Wild World like I do in City Folk, I did catch a couple of elephant beetles tonight.
