Tuesday was July 1st, and I received my monthly bank statement in the mail. I earned 80,350 bells in interest this month, so I’m up to 80% of the maximum interest payment now!
It was Curt’s birthday, and I remembered to show up to his birthday party. I gave him some chocolates (from Gulliver) for his gift. Happy birthday, Curt!
He gave me a wobbelina to thank me. Caroline was also at the party, but she seemed more interested in the cake than anything else.
On Wednesday, Truffles told me that Tank and Filbert have the kind of friendship that only guys have: They settle arguments with their fists!
If a rhino and a squirrel got into a fist fight, I don’t think the squirrel has a chance at all. Would a rhino even feel a punch from a squirrel? I don’t think so.
Today, I was very surprised to find a goodbye letter from Tank in the mail!
I didn’t play yesterday, but Tank was walking around outside on Wednesday. So this isn’t a matter of him being packed up and me just forgetting to go in his house. If he was leaving this soon, shouldn’t he have been packed up on Wednesday?? I mean, it’s not like I’m crushed by Tank’s departure or anything. But I just don’t understand how things like this happen without notice when I only skipped one day. 🤷♂️
Caroline asked me to deliver a letter to Drift, and the clock struck 5:00 p.m. as I found him. The letter itself wasn’t all that interesting (aside from Caroline’s dream of becoming a badminton referee), but I saw Pete flying overhead in the distance. I was mid-conversation with Drift though, so I had no chance of shooting Pete down. Caroline later rewarded me with a chainlink fence.
Robin asked me for some blue furniture, so I checked out the shop to see what they had. I bought a cooler that was very clearly blue. When I took it over to Robin, she said this:
I was sure she about to tell me it’s not blue, and refuse to accept it…but surprisingly, she didn’t. (So why did she have to psych me out like that?) She was happy for the cooler, and she rewarded me with a rock guitar (no strings attached).
After that, I was about to go into town hall to check the recycle bin and wrap up my game for the day. But Whitney pinged me first, and she surprised me by giving me her photo!
After my quick stop in town hall (the recycle bin was empty today), I went home. I put Tank’s pic into storage and put Whitney’s pic on display instead.
Her favorite quote on the back is “If you even THINK about crossing me, just think about these pearly whites!” I never expected Whitney to have one of the most violent quotes in the game. Wow. So much for “Never Stop Crossing;” I better stop crossing Whitney right away. 😛
