Sore Winner

Yesterday, Whitney was speaking very highly of the Able Sisters. But interestingly, she even said that they do a good impression of Blathers! Now that I’d like to hear! 😆

Whitney: They're knowledgeable, and so funny! They do the BEST Blathers impression!

Moments later, Whitney was engaged in a conversation with Curt. I listened in…

Whitney: All that matters in this world is money and appearance, on a pig!

Aside from saying all that matters is money and appearance (on a pig), she also said the value of your house matters too. Curt was insulted by this, and he said Whitney seems to be getting more snobbier every day.

Curt: You're becoming snobbier and snobbier every day, aren't you?

But before I could take Curt’s side in this argument, he called me a weirdo for listening in! How rude!

Curt: I mean, just look at that weirdo staring at us, with legs!

Curt eventually said he respected me? But the damage had been done. This weirdo is offended. 😆

Filbert gave me a new nickname, “J-bot.” That’s one of the rare nicknames that I actually like.

Today, Frobert asked me for a new shirt…so I checked the lost and found. I was surprised when Booker told me there were 15 items in there, because the maximum is usually ten.

Booker: I mean, we definitely have 15... I think.

But I soon understood why there was a discrepancy. The five extras were rotten acorns that I had left on the ground after the Acorn Festival (after I filled the recycle bin). When Gracie showed up at the plaza last week, the acorns must’ve gotten moved to the lost and found before I could properly dispose of them.

I also found an eight-ball shirt in there, and I took that back to Frobert. He promptly changed into it.

Frobert: Hey, no sneaking peeks at this bod while I do, OK, fribbit?

He liked the shirt, and he rewarded me with a baseball shirt. I don’t know why he didn’t just wear that, though. 😛

Another thing about Frobert, is that he always seems to be indoors! Since he moved in a month ago, I think I’ve only seen him outdoors once or twice! You’d think a jock frog would be outdoors more than that!

My other F*bert also had a request for me. Filbert wanted to compete to see who could catch a sea bass first, and I handed one to him immediately. He said I must really hate losing, and he called me a…sore winner? 🤔

Filbert: I'm not saying you're a sore loser... It's more like you're a sore winner!!

He rewarded me with a cabin rug, and he said that next time, he’ll actually try to win. But he can never win if I only accept the challenges after I already have what he wants. 😆

Selling at Able Sisters

Yesterday, I noticed a new hybrid flower in town: A purple pansy popped up, parked on the pink pig’s premises. (That would be Truffles’s yard.)

A new purple pansy outside of Truffles's house.

Today, Whitney told me that she slept in this morning. All she can think of is bed. That’s definitely relatable as the days get cooler. 🛏️

Whitney: Morning... I slept in this morning... All I can think of is bed.

When I spoke with Pippy, she asked if I was into collecting furniture. I said yes, and she said she’s going to buy up all the good furniture at the shop before me! That’s rude of her!

Pippy: I'll buy up ALL the good furniture at Tom Nook's shop before you!

Gracie was in town, so I took her fashion quiz and earned another Fashionista Badge. I then paid her 5,000 bells for a new outfit, and this is what she gave me:

Gracie: Little snip here.

She gave me a crossing shirt and some triangle shades. I decided to keep the shirt, but not the sunglasses. I also did something I’ve rarely (if ever) done before: I sold some clothes at Able Sisters.

The screen for selling clothes at Able Sisters.

Mabel gave me a total of 120 bells for the triangle shades and the flame shirt I had been wearing before.

Mabel: Oh, OK, in that cast, I can pay you 120 bells. Does that sound all right?

That’s the same price that Tom Nook pays, unfortunately. So there’s not really an incentive or reason to sell clothes to the Able Sisters, other than for the novelty of it.

But while I was in there, I also had a chat with Sable. She mentioned how Tom Nook wears an apron and nothing else… (Too much information?)

Sable: You know how Tom Nook wears nothing but that apron all year round?

She commented that he must get a bit chilly once the cool autumn air reaches his…um, nooks and crannies.

Sable: I just have to figure that the autumn air must give him serious chills...

On that pleasant note, I decided I’d had enough Wild World for the day. 😆 I saved and quit my game right then and there. But I’ll be back with another entry next week. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Update: If you haven’t yet seen my latest video episode, here it is!

Acorn Festival 2025

The Acorn Festival is underway this week, and I had a chat with Cornimer (who is totally not Tortimer) outside of town hall. He asked me to bring him all the acorns that I can find lying around town.

Cornimer: If you find an acorn, bring it to me. In fact, bring them all!

He also gave me my fortune, which said a whole lot of nothing.

Your secret fortune: Giant Acorn. Life: It's possible. Hopes: It's up to you. Karma: No news is good! Look behind you!

So I began gathering up acorns. They were everywhere!

Acorns all over the ground in Forest.

But for some reason, Pippy felt the need to rush me!

Pippy: Bunny! The acorn picking has already started! C'MON!! WE GOTTA HURRY!!

These acorns aren’t going to walk off on their own! And this festival continues all week, so there’s absolutely no reason to rush.

Whitney asked if I’ve squirrel away tons of acorns yet. 😛

Whitney: So, gorgeous, how goes the acorn gathering? You squirreled away tons yet?

And speaking of squirrels, Filbert told me that acorns are very healthy. Yeah, maybe for a squirrel, but I’m not interested in eating them. Does he think I’m nuts?

Filbert: Hey, hon, acorns are very healthy!

As for the acorns, of course I took care to dispose of the rotten ones. I took the others back to Cornimer, earning mush furniture in the process. In all, I ended up with exactly 100 acorns! Just like I did two years ago.

Cornimer: The number of acorns you've given me is 100!

They earned me seven pieces of furniture: I got a mush stool, mush end table, mush lamp, mush chair, mush dresser, mush closet, and a mush stand. I sold them for a total of 15,600 bells…which isn’t mush.

In other news, Truffles was finally over her cold. She thanked me for the medicine I gave her last week, and she rewarded me with a chainlink fence.

Filbert asked me for a new catchphrase, and I told him to say “with acorns.” Whitney had the same request, and I was out of ideas…so I said “on a pig.” Robin asked for a new greeting, and she’s now saying “Where’s Batman?” I don’t know why so many villagers were asking for new phrases today, though. 🤷
