Today is New Year’s Day, and Tortimer had a New Year’s fortune for me. In fact, he was really excited to give it to me.
My fortune said I would be lucky in 2019. But then it said luck favors the foolish. So is it calling me foolish??

For the new year, some cedar trees have festive lights on them. I had forgotten all about this, although of course I remember they return in February for Bright Nights.
There was a new house in town, and I found Roald the alcoholic penguin inside.
I ran into Gaston outside, and he was rather insulting. He said he knew how I could be, but he asked me to try to be nice for today! MeeeEeeEEe? How about you try it, you yellow grump!
Curly moved out last week, but I saw that his flower garden still remains. That actually made me a little sad. 😛 I watered the wilted flowers for him.
When I got back around to my house, I checked my mail and found several letters wishing me a happy new year. They were from Big Top, Margie, Jeremiah, Kiki, Rosie, and Mom.
Mom even sent me 10,000 bells for the holiday.
Elsewhere in town, Jeremiah and Gaston both pinged me at the same time. They must’ve had something important to tell me, right? Umm, not quite.
As I was talking to them, Kiki also came up to me and pinged me. I guess that was my 15 minutes of fame. 😛
