Black Fur

The acorn festival is over, but the acorns remain; they are still scattered all over town, and I need to clean them all up now. What a pain.

I visited Teddy tonight, and he asked me to let him do sit-ups in my house. That sounded like an odd request, but I figured he was just asking to visit my house. I told him no.

Teddy: Don't ask me why, just let me do sit-ups in your pad! Please, in a pond!

Nookington’s had another spotlight item today, two weeks after the last one. However, it was the same spotlight item: the hamster cage!

Timmy, in a smoky shop: You have a keen eye! That's our spotlight product...the hamster cage!
I don’t think all this smoke is good for the hamster.

Kiki asked me for some black furniture, as she does quite frequently, so I bought a modern sofa for her. When I took it over to her, she was surprised that I knew she was looking for black fur…niture.

Kiki: How in the world did you know I was into collecting black fur
You’ve only asked me about 893 times.

She rewarded me with a tartan rug.

Big Top was talking about how all fish have the same exact face…

Big Top: It seems like all fish have the exact same face...

…especially sea bass. Well, they do look quite familiar.

Big Top: Especially the sea bass! Talk about a familiar face.

He was really asking me to catch a sea bass for him. Luckily for him, I already had one in my pockets! He gladly accepted it and gave me an ornate wall in return.

Back behind my house, I found a new black rose! It’s always a nice surprise when you find a new hybrid flower. I put it in my house for storage.

Jeff finds a new black rose in town.

Kiki’s Birthday, Acorn Fest

I was surprised to find Rosie at Kiki’s house tonight. It’s Kiki’s birthday, and I forgot all about it. Fortunately, I had a piece of furniture in my pockets. It was a desk light, even though I was going to put it in my house. Oh well, I couldn’t not give Kiki a present.

Kiki: I'll treasure this forever! Or until it breaks... Whichever comes first.

Rosie’s catchphrase made it sound like she was contradicting herself.

Rosie: Happy, happy, happy birthday, Kiki! Yaaaaay, but no!

But Kiki’s birthday wasn’t the only special occasion; the Acorn Festival is taking place this week! Acorns can be found underneath regular trees, and Benedict sang the festival theme song for me.

Benedict, singing: Cornimer's by my side! Wading through an acorn tide!

Cornimer was standing outside of town hall. While I didn’t collect all of the acorns in town, I did pick up a bunch of them. I gave them to Cornimer, and he gave me several pieces of mush furniture in return…including this mushy stool sample.

Cornimer: Yeppers, looks like it's time for your prize. How 'bout a mush stool?

Cornimer also revealed my acorn fortune.

Your secret fortune: Medium Acorn. Life: Most likely, yes. Hopes: It will end well. Karma: You're on track. Look behind you!

Mint was all packed up and ready to move out of town, but I got her to change her mind. She hasn’t been here long enough yet!

Mint: I'm sorry, but I need more.

Anyway, the Acorn Festival prevented Crazy Redd from showing up this week. Good luck with your acorn hunting, for those of you who play! I’ll see you next time.

Hot Cola

Yesterday, I briefly heard (and saw) a UFO! However, I was all the way down on the beach, and UFOs fly in the northern part of town. I had no chance of catching it.

There was another spotlight item at Nook’s shop, and it was a hamster cage this time.

A hamster cage is available as the spotlight item at Nook's shop.

As I was walking alongside the river, something caught my eye in the distance. I saw Teddy there, but I wasn’t sure what happened. When I looked back at the footage, it looked like Teddy swung his net briefly, and then put it away! Look in the top-left corner of this pic:

Teddy swings his net in Animal Crossing: Wild World.

I’m not sure if I’ve seen that before.

Today, Benedict told me that Mint called him a pesky little bug!

Benedict: That big meanie Mint called me a pesky little bug! What's the big deal?

It bothered him so much that he ate a whole peach pie…or six.

Benedict: So I ate a peach pie! Or six! Whatever!

I listened in on a conversation between Kiki and Margie. Kiki asked what Margie’s favorite drink is, and Margie said cola. So Kiki wanted to know if she enjoys it hot or cold. o.O

Kiki: That's my favorite drink, too! I absolutely LOVE cola!
Kiki: OK, so now I have to ask, Margie... Do you like it better hot or cold?
I’ve never heard of anyone drinking hot cola before.

Teddy asked me how much weight training he did yesterday. The options were a lot or a little, and I chose “a lot.” I mean, he’s a jock and he’s always talking about working out. However, he tells me I’m wrong, and I should put some effort into learning his interests!

Teddy: But you gotta put some effort into learning about my interests!

Except I do know his interests, and that’s how I know I was right! Just for that, I had to smack him with a net a few times.

Just a reminder: The Acorn Festival is coming up next week! See you then.
