Purple Feather

Yesterday, I got a letter from Boondox in the mail. They informed me that my donation was used to build an arcade. The bad news is that they only have Donkey Kong so far. 😛

Dear Jeff, We finally have an arcade in town! It only has Donkey Kong, but it's still a lot of fun. -From Boondox

They attached a purple feather to the letter. I promptly put it in my hair.

Jeff wears a purple feather from Boondox in his hair.

I saved Curly from moving out, and then I bought medicine for Jeremiah, who was sick with a cold.

Today, I again gave Jeremiah some medicine. And in Nookington’s, Timmy and Tommy were apparently having a sale on barrels today. 😛

Three barrels on sale at Nookington's: the brown drum, red drum, and haz-mat barrel.

Is this Nookington’s or Barrels ‘R’ Us? It was the brown drum, the red drum, and the haz-mat barrel. Not much variety today. 😛

When I visited Rocco, he was talking about the size of my house. He thought there would be canyon-like echoes in a house that size, so he wanted to come over and sing to me all night long!

Rocco: That's it! I'm bringing my banjo over and singin' you a rockin' song!
Please don’t.

The salmon are in season now that it’s September, so I’ve been seeing lots of large fish shadows in the river. But the salmon (700 bells), and even the king salmon (1,800 bells), aren’t super valuable compared to most large river fish, so it ends up being a bit disappointing when you keep catching lots of them.

I bought some more flowers to plant by my house, and I’ve accumulated quite a lot of them now. Still no hybrids, but I’m not giving up.

Flowers, Cake, & A Lucky Unitard

I’ve been planting a lot of flowers around my house, and watering the wilties, as I try to grow some hybrids. I realize the area shown in this picture isn’t ideal for hybrid production, since they’re all jumbled together, but I have other areas for specific flowers (one area for roses, one for tulips, etc.).

Jeff's flower garden in Animal Crossing: Wild World.
That’s one sad little dude.

From what I’ve read, I need some blue, purple, and/or black flowers to attract a peacock butterfly. Hopefully I can grow a few of those one day soon.

A new “Talking to Myself” message was posted to the bulletin board. The author apparently wears a bathing suit in the tub, in case of an earthquake.

-Talking to Myself- I wear a bathing suit in the tub, in case of an earthquake. Maybe I watch too much TV.
Yeah, that swimsuit sure will protect you from the falling debris.

Jeremiah was feeling sick, and coughing like crazy. Maybe he had a frog in his throat. So I bought the blue dude some medicine. Get well soon, little guy!

Jeremiah: HACKity! HWEEZE HWEEZE! Thanks... HWEEZE! Now let me choke this stuff down.

I did a little fishing and bug-catching, but I didn’t catch anything new. But a hammerhead shark and an elephant beetle earned me a good chunk of bells.

I’ve saved up another 300,000 bells, so it was time for me to make another donation to Boondox. Pelly informed me that they needed a cake shop. Yeah, don’t we all? It’s not exactly a necessity though, so I’m starting to question the legitimacy of this charity.

Pelly: We just received a request from Boondox to build a cake shop...

I listened in on a conversation between Rocco and Curly, and they were talking about wrestling. Apparently Curly has beaten Rocco several times in a row, so Curly is going to let Rocco wear his lucky unitard next time.

Curly: Oh, Rocco! Next time we wrestle, you can wear my lucky unitard!
If only I could un-listen to this conversation.

This isn’t the first time Curly has mentioned unitards; he accused me of wanting to try on his leotards last December. Wow, I guess he was serious about having a unitard stash!

Have a good day (or night) and I’ll see you next time.

Scarab Beetle

One night last week, I went bug-hunting late at night in search of a rare scarab beetle. It took me a while, but I eventually found one and caught it!

I caught a scarab beetle! It looks like a jewel!

I rushed over to the museum to donate it, and Blathers seemed impressed that I donated such a valuable insect.

Blathers: Disgusted I may be, but I shan't turn down such a pricey donation! Cheers!

And with that, I only need one more bug for the museum–the peacock butterfly.

Today, Big Top wanted to move out of town…but I talked him out of it.

Rosie asked me to guess what she had for lunch last week. I guessed five pickles.

Rosie: Question!! What did I have for LUNCH last week? >Five pickles

Surprisingly, that was actually the right answer! She gave me a red boom box for guessing correctly.

When I visited Jeremiah, he told me that Rocco and Big Top haven’t been getting along lately. That part didn’t surprise me at all. But then he said it was Big Top that was looking for trouble! I don’t believe that for a second!

Jeremiah: Big Top was the one who was looking for trouble in the first place!

Margie asked me for a fossil, so I gave her a parasaur tail. She was impressed by it, and she gave me a red armchair as thanks. She also put the fossil on display in her house.

Margie: Holy cow! Wow, thank you! I've wanted this for a real long time, tootie!
