Fireworks Festival 2023

On Wednesday, Pascal was standing on the shore. When I spoke to him, he wondered what would happen to a sailfish that didn’t know how to sail. 😛

Pascal: You ever wonder what happens to a sailfish that doesn't know to sail?
I guess it would either sink or swim.

Yesterday, Goose wanted to sell me a classic bed for 3,000 bells…and I was obviously not interested. He got mad, saying I’m supposed to buy it off him because I’m his friend.

Goose: Huh?! Why the heck not?! You're my bud! You're supposed to buy it off me!
Wrong on both counts.

Tonight, the fireworks festival was underway. Mayor Tortimer was standing outside of town hall, and he gave me a sparkler and a Roman candle.

Tortimer: Tonight, Forest will have a fireworks show. So please take this, sprout.

Eloise was hanging out around there too, and she said that listening to fireworks relieves her stress.

Eloise: Just listening to the fireworks jolts away a week's worth of stress.

Really? A bunch of never-ending, loud, Earth-shaking explosions right above your head makes you less stressed? 🤔

But no doubt the fireworks are a pretty sight to behold. As pixelated as they may be at this resolution. 😉

Fireworks explode during the fireworks festival.

Dotty, however, did not seem to share Eloise’s sentiment. 😆

Dotty: Huh?! What?! WHAT?!
With ears that big, you’d think she could hear me.

Goose was all packed up and ready to move out…and I decided to let him go. He’s been annoying me lately. I guess I’m not a fan of jocks in Wild World, even though I like them in most of the other games.

Goose: Looks like it's gonna be an epic tourney, so I'm just gonna go ahead and move!
So long, Goose.

K.K. Slider was in town, and he performed K.K. Rockabilly for me.

Before wrapping up my game for the night, I went bug-hunting for about ten minutes. The fireworks and festive atmosphere provide a nice backdrop for bug hunting. 🙂

Update: I posted a full gameplay video of yesterday’s session:

See you next time!

Museum Complete!

On Tuesday, I took my famous painting over to Blathers at the museum (now that I’m able to capture video again). I donated the Mona Lisa, and Blathers confirmed that the art gallery, and the entire museum, are now complete! Yay!

Blathers: Hoo! Amazing! How splendid! This is now the perfect museum! Second to none!

Of course, I had to check it out for myself. 🙂

Famous painting. Donor: Jeff.

I also took a tour of all the exhibits, and then had some coffee at the Roost to celebrate the achievement. I have now complete the museum in all five main Animal Crossing games.

In case you’re wondering, it took me about 6 years and 10 months to complete the museum. That is the longest time span of any game in the series! For comparison, the GameCube game took me just under six years. City Folk and New Leaf took me about three years each, while New Horizons only took me two years and four months.

The next day, Blathers sent me this letter in the mail.

To my esteemed Jeff, Hoo and hoo again! Thanks to you, our museum has completed its collection! Please take this gift! -Gratefully, Blathers

He sent me the museum model, which I put on display in my house.

The museum model, on display in my house in Animal Crossing: Wild World (ACWW).

Bones is already looking forward to the first fireworks show of the season, which is coming up on Saturday night.

Bones: I just can't wait for Saturday's Fireworks Show, yip yip!

Tonight, Mitzi was packed up, wanting to move out of town! But I made sure to change her mind as soon as I could.

Dr. Shrunk was in town, and he taught me how to express my rage. 😡

Shrunk: (You've forgotten how to express contentment...) and learned how to express rage!

Usually it’s Lyle, not Shrunk, that makes me express rage. 😉

Update: Here’s my latest Wild World video, including a quick tour of all the museum exhibits:

Hard Boiled

On Thursday, Bones showed me a letter that read:

Hey kiddo,

If you have a fever and you don’t bother going to the doctor, you’ll find yourself hard-boiled.

Love, Dad

But personally, I think that only applies if the “kiddo” is an egg. 🥚

Eloise was trying to move out of town, but I kept telling her to stay. It took much longer than usual to change her mind, though.

Caroline asked me for a new catchphrase, and I told her to say “big eyes.” So she said “Yes! Big eyes! I like the sound of that! It’s me, big eyes!” 😆

Mitzi was still sick with a cold, so I gave her another dose of medicine. But by today, she was finally better. She gave me a classic chair to thank me for helping out.

I found a letter from Bones in my mailbox today, and my heart dropped. But fortunately, he was just inviting me to his birthday party on August 4th. I breathed a sigh of relief. 😮‍💨 Villagers don’t send random letters in Wild World, it’s only if they move out or have a birthday.

I caught an arapaima in the river, and I sold it to Tom Nook for 10,000 bells. I was actually thinking they were worth 15k, but I was probably thinking of stringfish.

Saharah was in town, and she needed my help again. So I delivered a rug to Blathers, and a carpet to Mabel. Saharah offered me an industrial wall or a tropical floor, and I chose the wallpaper (for catalog purposes, because I’m not sure I’ve had that one yet).

This should be my last entry without screenshots. Everything should be back to normal by next week. So I’ll see you all then. 🙂
