Samson’s Pic, KC’s Goodbye

On Friday, Tom Nook was talking about his friendship with Sable. She helped him to stop feeling bad about his unpleasant time in the city years ago.

Tom Nook: Sable is always the voice of reason, there to snap me back into reality...

Moments later, Samson surprised me by giving me his picture!

Samson: I'm not gonna get misty about it...but I AM gonna give you my photo!

I displayed the photo in my house, and Samson’s quote is “This isn’t a dress I’m wearing! It’s a muscle tee!” I can’t imagine a muscle tee being mistaken for a dress though, so I’m a bit confused by that quote.

Quote on Samson's pic: This isn't a dress I'm wearing! It's a muscle tee!

I spoke with Kid Cat outside, and he told me to come talk to him if I ever have any problems. After all, he said, “we’re photo-pals.”

Kid Cat: After all, we're photo-pals!

But I received some bad news from Kid Cat this morning: He moved out of town! Without warning. How am I supposed to go to him with my problems if he’s not around? I’m sorry to see him go. 🙁

Yo, yo, yo, Jeff! I'm moving! Man, we had a great time chillin' in Forest! I'll think of you when I pump mad iron! Later, yo! -Kid Cat

I also received my latest house score (206,151), and I bought another red turnip from Joan.

Later on, the fishing tournament was underway. With Tortimer in town, I was able to give him a massage chair for a scallop…and then I did it again. It’s good to know you’re not limited to one exchange per day. And if you order multiple massage chairs, you could easily stock up on scallops for Pascal.

Olivia told me she was was definitely going to win the tourney, so she told me to “back the HECK up.”

Olivia: I'm gonna win this time, so you better just back the HECK up, woof!

In contrast to Olivia’s bravado, Goldie’s talk of her fishing strategy was almost comical. She said she sticks her face in the river to become one with the fish. 😛

Goldie: I stick my face in the river and become one with the fish...

Bunnie has been sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine Friday, and then again today.

After making my rounds, I started fishing. My first several attempts didn’t go very well, but then I caught a 43.3-inch sea bass that took the lead. Tortimer gave me a tulip table as my prize.

But I didn’t stop there. I continued fishing, and I eventually topped my high score with a 45.8-incher, and then a 46.2-incher. Tortimer rewarded me with a fan and a trash bin.

Tortimer: Now, gaze upon this lovely trash bin and break that record again!

At 6:00, the tournament ended. There is no immediate confirmation of the winner, but I was still in the lead as of 5:59, so I’m pretty sure I have it wrapped up. Even though I’ve participated in a couple of fishing tourneys before, this will be my first win.

200k HRA Score

In this week’s letter from the Happy Room Academy, I was informed that my house score is 202,539 points! I’ve topped 200k for the first time! The addition of Bob’s pic last week must have been the reason (or at least the main reason) for the boost!

Jeff, your room gets 202,539 points! Stylish! Elegant! SASSY! No matter where you look, this is a PERFECT room!!! -Happy Room Academy

Once I complete my space room, I plan on posting a house tour video.

Wendell was in town on Monday, and I gave him a red turnip. In return, he gave me another turban. Now I just need Saharah to show up again, and hope that she gives me a red vase for it.

When I visited Peanut, she told me she was fully recovered from her cold. She thanked me for the medicine I’ve given her lately, and she gave me a green lava lamp.

Tom Nook was telling me that a customer told him his clothes were too old-fashioned. It reminded him of his days in the city, where he was known as “Off-the-Hook Nook.” 😂

Tom Nook: I was known as the famous Off-the-Hook Nook!

On Wednesday, Peanut told me that she read in a magazine that football fish oil prevents wrinkles. But she said it was too expensive…so she wanted to catch a football fish and then just rub it on her face! 😮

Peanut: I should go catch one and, like, rub it all over my face!

Tonight, I shot down a UFO. In the process, I helped Gulliver crash land exactly where he intended. 😉

Gulliver: Aha! What luck! I've crashed exactly where I intended!

I gathered up Gulliver’s UFO parts as I made my way around town. After I returned them all to him, he rewarded me with an Arc de Triomphe. I added it to my Gulliver room.

My Gulliver room now includes the Arc de Triomphe.

Goldie asked me to make a delivery to Peanut, and of course I agreed to help out. Once the job was done, Goldie got right to the point and rewarded me with a cactus.

Goldie: A deal's a deal. Here's your cactus. Enjoy, hop to it!

Bob’s Pic

On Sunday morning, I bought another red turnip from Joan. So I’ll be ready for Wendell the next time he shows up.

On Wednesday, Kid Cat asked me for some red furniture. I kept an eye out, and I ended buying him a red jackhammer from Nookington’s. He liked it, and in return, he gave me a red sofa. Wait, why is he giving away red furniture when he’s trying to collect it? Especially since he doesn’t have much of it yet!

Kid Cat: A red sofa! Bam! Aren't you stoked, slacker?!

Yesterday, Bob asked me if anyone has given me their picture before. I said yes, and he was hoping it wasn’t Peanut. 😛 He then said “well take this anyway,” and he gave me his picture! Wow! 😮

Bob: Now, I only give my picture to my bestest friends ever!

Moments later, I listened in on a conversation between Bob and Goldie. They were talking about spicy food, and Goldie said that her stomach can’t handle anything spicy. But Bob was determined to help Goldie train to handle any spice.

Bob: I shall take you under my wing. Together, we'll train you to master any spice!

Since my villager photo room can’t hold any more items, I had to find a different place to put Bob’s pic. I was happy to find that I could put it on my mush end table, next to my bed. Bob’s favorite quote is “I’m a cat. Chillin’ is in my blood, man.”

Quote on Bob's pic: I'm a cat. Chillin' is in my blood, man.

That’s different from his quote in later games. But it sure is nice to have Bob’s pic now! 🙂

Goldie asked me to guess how much ice cream she wanted, and I left the slider right in the middle (in between tiny scoop and normal scoop). She said I was correct, and she rewarded me with a toilet.

Goldie: I thought you could use a toilet, so here... It's all yours.

Today, Kid Cat was packed up to move out of town. But I spoke to him over and over until he changed his mind.

Cyrano said he wanted to have a competition to catch a long locust for his niece. But it was too late in the day to find a long locust, so I declined the request. His response was to call me an antisocial freak.

Cyrano: Hey! Are you some kind of antisocial freak or something?

Peanut has been sick lately, and believe it or not, it’s the first time anyone’s been sick in over a month! There’s usually someone in town that’s sick, so I was shocked that we’ve gone this long without any illnesses. But that stretch is over now, so I gave Peanut some medicine Wednesday, yesterday, and again today. Hopefully she’ll start to feel better soon.
