About Bunny Day
Bunny Day is an Easter-themed holiday event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons in which Zipper T. Bunny will visit your town. In this event, you can gather up eggs, trade them, and use them to craft Bunny Day furniture. But the event will go more smoothly if you prepare ahead of time, in the week leading up to Bunny Day.Playing a different version? I also have Bunny Day guides for City Folk and New Leaf.
When Is Bunny Day?
The exact date of Bunny Day will vary from year to year, but it will always be on Easter Sunday. The event lasts the entire day (from 5 a.m. until 5 a.m.). This chart shows the dates for Bunny Day from 2024-2032:
| 2024: | March 31 |
| 2025: | April 20 |
| 2026: | April 5 |

Preparation Week
One week before Bunny Day, Zipper T. Bunny will appear in your town. Try not to be alarmed when you see him.

He will tell you about the upcoming event, and remind you to keep an eye out for eggs and D.I.Y. crafting recipes for Bunny Day items. If this is your first time seeing him, he will give you a recipe for a Bunny Day bed. The other recipes can be found in the usual ways you find recipes: By spotting a message bottle on the beach, shooting down balloons, or receiving them from a villager.
During this time (the week leading up to Bunny Day), eggs will start appearing everywhere you look...whether you want them, or not.
Six Types of Eggs
You will use these eggs for crafting Bunny Day items. Here are the six types of eggs, and where to find them:
- earth eggs: buried underground
- leaf eggs: shaken from trees
- sky eggs: from balloon presents
- stone eggs: from hitting rocks
- water eggs: found by fishing
- wood eggs: from chopping trees

Eggs can be eaten, but it won't help you with this event. Unlike in previous games, there are no prizes inside the eggs. Eating them will simply give you strength/stamina, just like eating anything else (allowing you to smash rocks or dig up a tree).
Note: Unlike in New Leaf, there are no deep sea eggs to find in New Horizons. So don't bother diving for eggs, because you won't find any under the sea.
Bunny Day Items to Craft
There are initially 17 Bunny Day items to craft (at least, prior to your first Bunny Day). Zipper gives you the bed recipe, and villagers will give you recipes for the bag and crown. The other recipes can be found in message bottles or balloons. This does not include the egg outfits, which I'll discuss later in this guide.
| Bunny Day bag | 2,400 bells |
| Bunny Day bed | 2,400 bells |
| Bunny Day crown | 2,400 bells |
| Bunny Day fence/fencing (10 pcs.) | 2,400 bells |

You will need to craft these initial items to unlock additional recipes once Bunny Day arrives.
Hopping for Shopping Deals?
Looking for some eggs-tra Easter decorations? Five exclusive Bunny Day items can be purchased at Nook's Cranny, in the corner where seasonal items are sold. The deals are too good to egg-nore!

Hare is a list of the five shop items, along with the buy price and sell price for each:
| Buy price | Sell price | |
| Bunny Day candy | 1,300 bells | 325 bells |
| Bunny Day garden flag | 1,500 bells | 375 bells |
| Bunny Day planter box | 2,300 bells | 575 bells |
| Bunny Day topiary | 2,000 bells | 500 bells |
| Bunny Day tree | 3,800 bells | 950 bells |

Bunny Day Arrives
On the day of the event, Zipper will give you a D.I.Y. recipe for a Bunny Day arch (if you don't already have it). Once you have crafted all of the Bunny Day items (including the arch), he will give you a D.I.Y. recipe for a wobbling Zipper toy. And once you've also crafted that, Zipper will give you one final crafting recipe for a Bunny Day wand.

On Bunny Day, you can also give Zipper one egg of each type (six total) for a Bunny Day basket. This can be done repeatedly, if you want extra baskets. Here is a list of these items that are only given out on Bunny Day, along with the selling price of each one:
| Bunny Day arch | 4,800 bells |
| wobbling Zipper toy | 9,600 bells |
| Bunny Day wand | 11,100 bells |
| Bunny Day basket | 1,200 bells |

Trading Eggs
Zipper will allow you trade eggs with him, but the price is steep. You need to give him three eggs of one type for just one egg (of your choice). Three-for-one is not a good deal, so I don't recommend trading with him unless you're desperate for a certain egg.Villagers may also offer to trade eggs with you, and they'll give you a better deal: 3 for 3. The only catch is that each outdoor villager will only have one type of egg. However, you can trade any other type for it (3 eggs for 3 eggs).

Egg Clothing
You can also craft 18 egg clothing items, based on the six types of egg. There is a shell (hat), outfit, and a pair of shoes for each one. The crafting recipes are learned as you gather up a certain number of each type of egg.

After acquiring all 18 of those recipes, you will also learn two more: The egg party dress and egg party hat. Having this many clothing items seems really egg-cessive. But here is the list, along with the sell price for each.
| earth-egg outfit | 1,200 bells |
| earth-egg shell | 800 bells |
| earth-egg shoes | 800 bells |
| leaf-egg outfit | 1,200 bells |
| leaf-egg shell | 800 bells |
| leaf-egg shoes | 800 bells |
| sky-egg outfit | 1,200 bells |
| sky-egg shell | 800 bells |
| sky-egg shoes | 800 bells |
| stone-egg outfit | 1,200 bells |
| stone-egg shell | 800 bells |
| stone-egg shoes | 800 bells |
| water-egg outfit | 1,200 bells |
| water-egg shell | 800 bells |
| water-egg shoes | 800 bells |
| wood-egg outfit | 1,200 bells |
| wood-egg shell | 800 bells |
| wood-egg shoes | 800 bells |
| egg party dress | 7,200 bells |
| egg party hat | 4,800 bells |
Villager Outfits
On the day of the event, your outdoor villagers will also be wearing the special egg outfits for the occasion. They can be really cute!

Not Your First Bunny Day Eggs-perience?
If you've completed the Bunny Day event in a previous year, there won't be much to do this time around. Zipper may give you eggs instead of the Bunny Day recipes, and he will give you a Bunny Day wand (instead of just the wand recipe). But you can still exchange eggs for Bunny Day baskets, and you can also trade eggs with him.
Who is Zipper?
Zipper T. Bunny first appeared in Animal Crossing: City Folk. Zipper will tell you to not to look too closely at his back, but a zipper is clearly visible, indicating the costume is a bunny suit.

It's not known who is inside the bunny suit. Previous rumors have suggested maybe Phyllis or Tortimer is inside, but in City Folk, both of those characters can be seen inside town hall even as Zipper is standing outside. We don't know who is really inside the suit, and it's unlikely that we ever will.
It's a Stretch
If you start a group stretching session on Bunny Day, Zipper will join in and stretch with your other villagers and special characters! Exercising while wearing a bulky rabbit suit may not be hop-timal, but Zipper is able to do it somehow!

Good luck with the egg hunting, everyone! I hope you have a Happy Easter and Bunny Day! If you're interested, check out my Bunny Day video.
