Even though Katie didn’t get on the train with me yesterday, she still sent me a letter today. She said she hopped on the next train and she thanked me anyway. Along with the letter, she attached her picture.
A few days ago, I realized I haven’t been getting the gem rock in a while. Then it hit me: When I got my golden shovel, I started using that instead of the silver shovel. And you need the silver shovel if you want gem rocks, so I put the gold one in storage and started using the silver one again. It paid off today, as I got my first gem rock in quite a while.
Since the gem rock gave me two gold nuggets, I also grabbed one out of storage so that Cyrus could make me a piece of golden furniture. But Molly saw my gold nuggets and wanted to trade a shirt for one. Sorry Molly, but no.
After giving my nuggets to Cyrus, I watered flowers around town. I also built a snowboy, and he was perfect this time.
When the time came, I returned to Re-Tail. Cyrus turned my nuggets into a golden woman. I already had a golden woman, but thanks anyway.
I spoke with Agent S, and she said she was trying out some new makeup techniques. I don’t think anyone can tell the difference when she’s always wearing that helmet of hers.
Later on, I saw that Tiffiny was opening her gate for some tours. So I headed over to her town Auctus, and it’s looking great as always.
Julio and Alex were also there. I love how she has the windmill behind the bench like this.
Once we got to the island, we did a bunch of tours, including a few bug-catching ones.
We also did an elite balloon hunt, better known as a falling-in-pitfalls tour.
I did pretty bad in the tours overall, especially the bug ones. The only tour I did well at was the ancient fish encoun-tour, where I tied with Tiffiny for first place. After several tours, I guess someone had to leave and they disconnected instead of returning to shore and leaving through the gate.
When I got back to Forest, I noticed the northern lights overhead. So I took a few pictures of them from various spots around town.

Outside, Molly saw me walking with a shovel and she was afraid I was going to pitfall her! I wouldn’t pitfall you, Molly!
There was an igloo at the campsite today, so I went in to check it out. Jay was inside, talking about how far he had to run to get to my town.
He gave me a snow machine. Just what I wanted!
I built another snowman so that I could get a new bingo card, and then Tom asked me to visit his town. Katie was in my town, so I tried to take her with me. But as she was boarding the train, she dropped her ticket.
She went out to pick it up, but it was too late. The train door shut and she couldn’t follow me.
I believe this happens if the destination town has already had Katie recently. It would be quite annoying if you kept getting her every day or two! She’s annoying enough as it is. Once I arrived in Tomville, Tom showed me his failed snowman. His friend Kippei also joined in.
We tried glitching onto Tom’s well, but we couldn’t get it to work. Tom’s Re-Tail was offering premium prices for peaches, but perfect peaches wouldn’t count towards the bonus.
Later on, I updated my town tune. Instead of Deck the Halls, I went with Saria’s Song from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I also made a new pattern, the Nintendo logo. It isn’t quite as sharp as I hoped, but there’s only so much you can do with 32 pixels of width.
If you’d like the pattern, you can scan it from the
Skye asked me to collect signatures for a petition to ban bubble gum on benches.
Before looking for another town though, I finished up my tasks around town–including my shopping run. At the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Claire from Monaco was my most recent dream visitor.
None of my best friends were online, so I posted on
Seeing his cube sculpture makes me wish I hadn’t put mine in the corner of my town. They look so much better out in the open like this.
Biff took a break from toning his pinky toes to sign my petition. How nice of him.
I was very jealous of his football fish lamp. I want it!
Julian the unicorn also signed the petition.
After I collected all six signatures, I returned home to Forest. Thank you again, Daniel/Buzz! By the way, now that I have a decent router that seems to work pretty well, I will occasionally post on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or on a blog entry if I have an item or villager to give away. For example, I do have a number of extra villager pictures, so I might give them away at some point.
Tiffiny told me that she actually likes Tammy the bear cub! I gladly offered to give Tammy to her whenever she eventually decides to move out (the sooner the better). But for now, I hunted down Skye to give her my completed petition. She thanked me and gave me a revolving spice rack as a reward. Hooray.
After Big Top, Skye is the next on the list of villager pics I’m due for. Even though Skye has only been in town since October, I’ve talked to her a lot in that span. So I’m hoping to get her picture sometime soon as well. After Squishy finished collecting signatures, I ended the party and built a snowboy. I made him right this time!
And with that, I finished up my day in New Leaf. I’ll see you all next time!
