Joan was selling turnips for 105 bells today, so I bought 1,000 of them from her this afternoon. Yes, I said this afternoon. I barely found Joan before the morning ended and noon arrived. And it was actually after noon when I made my purchase. Still, I got the turnips I needed, even if it was a close call.
I saved my game and returned to it later in the afternoon. I ran into Big Top, and he told me he had a dream of Melodi from Singtown. Luna would later confirm that Melodi was my most recent dream visitor.
Kidd approached me and told me he wanted to move out of town. Without even thinking about it, I told him to stick around. I actually could have let him go this time, but it’s no problem. I like having him around anyway.
I finally got off my lazy butt and re-routed the path around Drago’s house. I plan on keeping him for a while, so I might as well fix up the area around his house a bit.
Over by the event plaza, Isabelle was getting prepared for the fireworks festival.
Just a bit north of there, near my central bridge, I found a new house plot: Octavian is moving in tomorrow!
The octo-plot is actually in a good spot, because my path already went alongside the back and side of his house. So I won’t have to move anything around.
Even though it was too early for fireworks in Forest, Tom invited me over to Tomville, where it was five hours later. So I headed there and Andrew joined right after I did. I said “brb” because I was going to be away for a minute or two, and Tom somehow used my body to push himself (as he blew his tweeter) onto the tracks! I felt so used!
Over at Tomville’s event plaza, Tom’s Isabelle gave me a star bopper to wear.
And Andrew dropped three fountain fireworks for some triple fire.
Tom had glitched into the ocean by now, and he told Andrew and I to come see him at the dock. But right as we got down there, Tom’s friend Colben joined in, killing Tom. Once he came back to life, he had Colben push him so he could glitch back down again. I stood at the top of the ramp to watch some fireworks.
Once Tom got to where he wanted to be, he again called us down. He thought that if he used a Roman candle or sparkler while he was glitched under the water, maybe we’d be able to see the firework go off without seeing him holding it. But unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way. I saw nothin’.
Before long, Tom’s battery light came on and he quickly kicked us out. I found myself back in Forest, and I went up to Main Street. I noticed that Benedict is now one of the villagers that appears in the shopping district!
It’s nice to see him again. The animals on Main Street are former residents of course, and most of those are animals I didn’t care for (which is why I let them move out in the first place). But Benedict was one of the few that I did like, and I’m glad I’ll be seeing him on Main Street for months to come.
After I was done on Main Street, I saved and quit my game. I had already planned not to open my gate tonight, but I ended up not even playing in the one-player mode either. But this year, August has a total of five fireworks festivals! (Most years, it will only be four). So there are still three more of them yet to come. I’ll probably be opening my gate for two of the final three, but you’ll have to stay tuned for details.
The island did indeed have some bush starts for sale, so she bought some of them. We also went on a couple of island tours while we were there, including this gardening tour.
After returning to Forest, we took a moment to sit on my metal bench as Drago and Agent S went walking by.
We looked around to see if we saw Octavian’s house plot, but there was no sign of it yet. Maybe it will show up tomorrow.
Later on, I went up to Club LOL to catch out K.K.’s weekly show. I asked for a random song and he performed Two Days Ago for me.
I saw a tent at the campsite and went inside. Octavian was camping there! While Octavian isn’t one of my most-wanted animals, he is an animal that I like a lot. Plus, he recently
I was a bit late in opening my gate for Friday Night Forest, but the gate opened about 10:07 p.m.; Chris came in, followed by Tiago from Starfall.
I actually didn’t know who Tiago was at first! He has been on my roster for a long time, but this was his first time visiting Forest. I showed him my house, and I got a surprise when I went to the basement: Chris was down there! I thought he was outside talking to the animals.
A few minutes later, Lindsey also came over to visit. I hadn’t seen her for a long time. We were all hanging out in my central park area.
Lindsey was talking about how the sky and moon were so pretty tonight. When she mentioned the moon, I asked Chris if he was mooning people.
Chris was looking at my badges and saying I was good at shooting balloons, etc. And I got to thinking, if anyone was going to hand out badges, shouldn’t it be a badger? How did the people at Nintendo miss out on a pun like this?
I asked if everyone wanted to go to the island, but Lindsey didn’t want to. So we went up to Main Street and hung out at the museum. Blathers put his pincers around my head! Ouch!
After that, Lindsey went home for the night. Outside of the museum, I glitched into the pond for a minute or two, and then Tiago and I started beating up Chris.
Now that Lindsey was gone, I asked everyone again if we could go to the island. Everyone said yes, so I headed down towards the dock. And then Chris suddenly said he had to go! Foiled again!
So when do you blast off, piggy?
After a few minutes, Wendy came over. She had some pears to sell, so I waited patiently outside of Re-Tail for her to come back out. I had a fountain firework waiting for her. It looks like I caught her dress (and my hair) on fire!
I again asked if we could go to the island. The third time was the charm, because everyone agreed to go! Once we got there, we played a hide-and-seek tour. Wendy and Tiago found all the villagers in about 30 seconds. It felt like I didn’t even have a chance! 😛
We then left the hut for some peaceful bug and fish-catching on the island. Despite how it looked, we weren’t just playing “follow the leader.” Well, not the whole time, at least. 😛
Once we had our fill of butterflies, beetles, and sharks (oh my!), we returned to town. We all sat at my town tree and watched the town history scroll by.
We also hung out by the train station for a while, talking about koalas and StreetPasses and Portugal. And of course Wendy had to go and melt my junk. (My watering can, that is).
Around 12:40, I ended the party for the night. Thanks to everyone who came! Have a good weekend, everyone!
