Taurus Bathtub DLC

Joan was selling turnips for an even 100 bells each today. I bought 3,100 of them. If you wonder why I usually buy 3,100 of them, I’ll tell you. I have three pages of my storage clear and reserved specifically for turnips. Those 30 spots account for 3,000 of the turnips. As for the other 100 (which just take up one inventory slot), I keep them in my pockets as a reminder to check turnip prices each day.

Joan: The asking price is 100 bells per turnip. What do you think, kiddo? This afternoon, the winner of the egg furniture giveaway (Stace) contacted me and told me her gate was open. I dropped off the egg set and tweeter at her town St. Pete. Congrats once again, Stace! I hope you enjoy the set!

Making a delivery to Stace in St. Pete.Dizzy told me he was going to move out of town on April 30th, but I twisted his trunk to make him stay.

Dizzy: Don't freak out, but I'm planning on moving away on the 30th of this month.I realized I hadn’t checked for the latest DLC item, so I went up to the post office to see if there was anything new. I’m probably a few days late, but the Taurus bathtub is now available. Some regions received this last year, but it’s new for America.

Pelly: Sorry to keep you waiting! I hope you enjoy your new Taurus bathtub! It can be re-ordered from the catalog for 4,800 bells. And that’s no bull.

Taurus bathtub - 4,800 bells.Daisy was still sick today, so once again I bought some medicine for her. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to go for a walk soon! When you’re feeling better, just give me a collar holler!

Daisy takes her medicine.I finished up my evening with a trip out to the island, where I went on a shark-battle tour. Catching eight sharks in six minutes earned me 15 medals. Phineas, you can start showing up any day now please.

Tortimer: WHOA! You're a master angler! You've earned a Gold Tortimer award and 15 medals!

Egg Giveaway Winner

It was raining in town tonight, giving me a break from watering flowers. Aurora wasn’t thrilled with the rain, but she handled it well.

Aurora: This rain does NOT want to stop! Oh well. We'll just have to make the best of it, tiger.Daisy was still sick today, so I gave her some medicine once again. It made her sparkle and flip. Good dog.

Daisy flips as she takes her medicine.I went to Club LOL to catch some live music. K.K. Slider performed K.K. Rock for me (and Tabby…ick).

K.K.: Enough tuning--let's groove. This next one is for you, Jeff. It's called K.K. Rock.Over at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Molly from Oaklane was my most recent dream visitor.

I took Kapp’n’s boat out to the island and I went on a pros-only bug hunt tour. I went a long stretch without finding any bugs at all, and I ended up with a silver Tortimer award. That earned me seven medals. Oh well, every bit helps.

Tortimer: That's enough to net you a Silver Tortimer award and 7 medals! The giveaway for the egg furniture set (with a tweeter as a bonus) ended today. There were only a total of 21 entries, and the random number generator selected a winner: inowshipyou

Congrats, inowshipyou! I’ve contacted you on Tumblr, and you have until Tuesday night to arrange a meeting time so that I can drop off the prizes. If the prizes are not claimed by then, I will draw a replacement winner at that time. But hopefully I will hear from you soon. Congrats, and thank you all for entering!

Weeding Day. Apparently.

Yesterday, Reese was paying 135 bells for turnips, so I sold all that I had.

Reese: Currently, I'm buying each turnip for 135 bells.I went to work at the Roost today, but Brewster told me he didn’t need any help. It wasn’t 11:00 yet, so I was a bit confused.

Brewster: Sorry... I don't really need any help right this moment...It all became clear when I went into the Emporium. The gardening section was closed off, with a note from Leif saying there was an event today. Oh, it must be Weeding Day! I forgot that was today! I was actually thinking it was tomorrow.

The gardening corner is closed today due to an event! -LeifBut Leif was not at the event plaza, so I was still a bit confused. After a bit of research, it seems that Leif will only be there until 7:00 p.m., and I played too late in the day to see him. That’s pretty disappointing. I know the GameCube version of Animal Crossing often had holidays where you had to find Tortimer by a certain time or forfeit your prize, but New Leaf is (generally) better about silly time limits on special events. Weeding Day is an exception to the rule, however.

Anyway, Daisy was feeling sick today. So I gave her some medicine, and she’s already starting to feel better. Good thing, too. Being sick is ruff.

Daisy: Ahhh... I think I feel it working already!Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that today’s most recent dream visitor was Ana from a town called “a r s r,” oddly enough. Yesterday’s dream visitor was Nogo from Questess.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the last day to enter the giveaway for the egg furniture set and tweeter. As of the moment that I’m typing this, there are only about 20 entries so far. So your odds of winning are much better than in previous giveaways.

And one last thing that’s not exactly related to New Leaf, but it’s something that many Animal Crossing fans will be interested in. If you have Mario Kart 8 on Wii U, DLC Pack #2 is now available. It includes an Animal Crossing track, as well as Villager and Isabelle as characters you can choose from.

Here are two videos of the Animal Crossing track: The first one shows me exploring the Nooks and crannies of the track to see all of the Animal Crossing details.

The other video shows the Animal Crossing track in all four seasons. (The season is randomly selected each time you play). I think the winter version is especially gorgeous, but you can judge for yourself.
