Mailman’s Hat

Last night, Crazy Redd had a tent set up at the event plaza. He had the valiant statue for sale, and for once, it didn’t have bat wings. That meant it was the real one! I’ve probably seen the fake one at least half a dozen times, but finally I was able to get the real one.

Red: Ya seem to be really close to that valiant statue, yeah?Today, Reese was paying 187 bells for turnips…nice! I sold everything I had.

Reese: Currently, I'm buying each turnip for 187 bells. That earned me enough money to make my bank account balance reach 50 million bells! I’m halfway to my goal!

Your current balance is 50,000,000 bells.I got my valiant statue in the mail from Redd, and it was indeed the real thing. I donated it to the museum. I only need two more items to complete the museum: one painting and one statue.

Valiant Statue - August 26th, 2015 - Donation by JeffSaharah was in town today, and she put in an illusion floor and a chain-link fence.

Illusion floor and chain-link fence.Meli came over to sell some turnips, and she also gave me some perfect cherries. They will make nice gifts to my villagers. Thanks, Meli!

Meli comes over for a visit.Meli sells turnips in Re-Tail.After I ended the session, I noticed that I had mail again! I guess having a visitor must force the mail, like it did in ACCF. I received this letter from the post office, congratulating me on saving 50 million bells.

We never imagine that someone would ever save over 50,000,000 bells. This gift may look self-serving, but we hope you'll accept it! -Forest Post OfficeThe letter included a gift–a mailman’s hat!

Trying on the mailman's hat.The bad thing about changing back to a beautiful town ordinance is that the stores now close at their normal times, which is too early for me. I didn’t get to shop yesterday, but I was able to check the stores today. In the tailor’s shop, I wondered if it was goat day. Both Nan and Velma were shopping there! Doh!

Velma and Nan shopping at Able Sisters. Is it goat day?

Unhinged

Dizzy approached me Saturday night and gave me a deer shirt he said I was hunting for. No, I wasn’t hunting for the deer shirt! I think you misunderstood!

Dizzy: Hey, I found the deer shirt you've been hunting for.I sold my turnips for a small profit once again. And on Sunday, I bought a new supply of them from Joan. She charged an even 100 bells apiece for them this time.

Joan: The asking price is 100 bells per turnip. What do you think, kiddo?Velma was out enjoying the sun, with no fear of UV rays.

Velma: But I say...bring it on, UV rays! I am equipped with an arsenal of skin-care products to defeat you!Over the past few days, what started as a crack in the plastic of my 3DS (near the top-right corner, in front of the R button) got much worse. The cracked piece fell off, and later other pieces of plastic fell off as well. That included the notification LED that would flash when I got a StreetPass hit. With those gone, the hinge got loose as well. And then, this.

My 3DS becoming unhinged and falling apart.

I’m going to need to get a new 3DS, unfortunately. But until I’m able to get one, I have to be very careful with the system. Unless I’m lying it on a flat surface (which is awkward when playing), I have to keep one hand on the top screen at all times, just to hold it up. What a pain. As you can imagine, this make it difficult to play games. For that reason, I decided to change my town ordinance to the beautiful town ordinance. Now I won’t have to worry about watering my flowers.

Isabelle: So you want to sign the Keep Forest Beautiful ordinance into law?I was not in a good mood today, but clearly I was not the only one.

Agent S: ARGH!! I am so...GRRR! Seriously, you should stay away from me today, I'm in a MOOD!
Chill out.

I found a lost item on the ground tonight, and Molly turned out to the be the owner of the bag. What was inside? Rats! Oh wait, she just had bread in it. But now it’s stale. Or maybe the rats ate it.

Molly: Hey! This IS mine! Rats, I had some fresh bread in there, but I'll bet it's all stale now.She rewarded me by giving me a pep-squad tee. Not a very good gift, but then again, neither is rat-infested bread.

Molly: I'd like to give you a reward. It's not much, but how about my pep-squad tee?Up at the Dream Suite tonight, Luna told me that Oceanas from Citadel was my most recent dream visitor.

Dreaming of Hitokui

It was a sunny day in Forest, and Kabuki was enjoying the nice weather.

Kabuki: How about this weather? It's like the sun's taken a...shine...to us! You get it? It's warm!
Hey Kabuki? Leave the bad puns to me.

Later on, I changed my path back to the green bricks. The repeating ink blotches of Splatoon didn’t make the best-looking path.

Changing back to my green brick path.I went up to the Dream Suite to update my dream town, and I got a bit of a surprise when I checked my latest visitor. According to Luna, it was <3s JVGS from Poop. It was kind of flattering, at least until I reached part #2. đŸ˜€

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named <3s JVGS from Poop enjoyed your dream.
That’s certainly an interesting name and town. But still, thank you for visiting!

I wasn’t done in the Dream Suite just yet, though. I decided to take a dream visit to a horror-themed town suggested by Heidi and Abbie (in October 2013). The town’s name is Hitokui and the dream address is 2600-1856-4772. Update: The current dream address as of September 2017 is 1C00-0077-A492.

I visited the cafe, where a variety of tasty foods was served. Wait, is the chef missing an eye? I hope it doesn’t end up in my salad or anything. But I’ll keep an eye out for it.

Hitokui cafe.Just a fair warning that this town does contain some bloody patterns, and some of them will be shown in the following pictures. If you don’t want to see them, you may want to skip the rest of this blog entry.

The basement of the cafe has some bloody knives. And some empty cribs. Exactly what kind of meat do you serve here??

A freaky lab room in Hitokui.Another room has a collection of scary creatures. Yikes! That thing is huge!

A room full of bugs and other creatures in Hitokui. And of course, every horror town is legally obligated to have at least one of these creepy dolls. Although the doll isn’t the creepiest thing in this room…
