Today is February 29th, also known as Leap Day. This date only comes once every four years, and this is the first Leap Day since New Leaf was released (outside of Japan, at least). As I started up the game, Isabelle told me there wasn’t any Leap Day celebration planned–so she decided to make something up on the spot. She just yelled “Happy Leap Day!”
That’s all she could come up with.

But there was also a message on the bulletin board about it being Leap Day. It was almost identical to the message posted in City Folk.

Resetti’s manhole was open again tonight, and I was relieved to see he wasn’t still on the toilet. But he didn’t have anything interesting to say; he just told me to keep my hands to myself.

I visited Peck, and he told me I should take a picture of him…so I did. It must have been a long time since I was in his house though, because it didn’t look very familiar.

Near my central bridge, Velma was talking about how special Leap Day is. She said if this was her birthday, she would only be one-fourth of her current age. And then she backtracked, saying that today is her birthday! (Hint: It’s not).

She then said she was turning nine years old! Does that mean she’s really 36?

Maybe I should call Scooby Doo to investigate.
Over by town hall, Daisy was also talking about Leap Day…just without the lies.

Saharah was right there, so I went ahead and hired her to put in new carpeting and wallpaper. She ended up installing a western vista and a ceramic tile.

Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Crimson from Stream was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by!
I left him alone to tend to his business. Back outside, Pashmina pinged me for a very good reason: She wanted to suggest a new public works project! Unfortunately, that PWP was just a wood bench. But I appreciate the suggestion regardless.
When I went back outside, I got another surprise: I saw Phineas! The badge I had earned was also something quite unexpected; I earned the Weed Buster badge. It’s the silver badge for pulling lots of weeds. I thought a fishing or diving badge would have been more likely, but I’ll gladly take it.
Apparently, that means I’ve pulled 2,000 weeds so far…in nearly three years. Yet you need 5,000 weeds for the gold badge. So it could take me another five years to earn that one! Yikes! That will probably be the last badge I earn…other than the gold StreetPass badge, which I’m sure I’ll never get. But here is a look at my current badges:
I made sure to say goodbye to my snowmam. See you next winter!
Dizzy was sick, so I took some medicine to him. He should be careful about jumping like this, though: His landing could cause an earthquake, or at least knock some of his furniture down.
Wendy gave me a download code for a Mega Man stage select theme for 3DS last night, and I enabled it. Thanks again, Wendy! I like the sound effects and I also like the starry background.

Big Top was enjoying the night, sitting out on the metal bench. I joined him for a moment or two.
And then today, it was raining in town. Big Top wasn’t happy about that fact…except for the part about him skipping a shower. Uh, too much information, big guy. Don’t expect me to sit next to you today!
Saharah was in town, and I hired her to put in some new wallpaper and carpeting. She chose a meadow vista and a sci-fi floor. Those are both good items, but they certainly don’t fit well together.
Over at Re-Tail, I saw that furniture was today’s premium item! Yes! I gathered up all my extra ice furniture and started selling it. Each item sold for 17,776 bells, so a pocketful of 16 items earned me 284,416 bells.
But I had more than a pocketful; I had 43 pieces of ice furniture, to be exact. In total, I scored a cool 764,368 bells for everything. And I still have six ice floors and two ice walls to sell at a later date. When I deposited my money into my bank account, my balance reached 62.5 million bells.
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Moonstar from Forest was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for visiting! Have a good weekend, everyone!
