Last night, I spotted my first tarantula of the year. I got my net out, and approached it slowly. But when I swung the net, my swing was apparently blocked by my zen bell. I missed, and the tarantula attacked me!

Big Top asked me to make a delivery to Bob today, and he said to deliver it before the end of tomorrow. That seems like an unusual way of phrasing that.

So I took the package over to Bob, but not before…turning into a red balloon?

But since I incorrectly guessed what was inside the package, I didn’t get a reward for the favor. And when I shot down that balloon present, it only contained a balloon dresser. Double disappointment.

Rolf told me he wanted to stay up all night drinking cherry cola with me. I’m not sure I understand why, but…thanks? I guess?

Boots asked me to catch a stag beetle for him, so I headed out to the island. Sure, you can catch stag beetles on the mainland this time of year too, but it’s much quicker on the island. Besides, I caught a few extra valuable bugs (and a shark) to make the trip worth my time. Boots just rewarded me with a pot rack for the bug.

Vivian asked me for a new catchphrase, so I told her to say “in a cup.”

I chatted with her again, and she asked me for some fruit. I gave her a perfect orange, and she thanked me by giving me a patchwork table. Seems like I did a lot of favors for my villagers tonight.

It was raining in Forest last night, and Camofrog was loving every drop. He couldn’t get enough of it.

Today was the day I’ve been waiting for. After putting some money into the bank, my account balance reached 100 million bells! At last!

The rain from yesterday was long gone, and the clear weather allowed Phineas to show up right away! He gave me the Tycoon Bell Saver badge! 😀

After that, I took some of that money back out of the bank. I went up to GracieGrace and bought a few high-priced items, including this Gracie chest.

After I spent about 700,000 bells, I returned to town and asked Copper if anything was going on. He told me Phineas was in town again!

So I made my way around town, and I spotted Phineas in the frog neighborhood (near the houses of Lily and Camofrog). He said that I’ve shopped so much that he should come to live with me! Only if you keep giving me new badges every night.

He then gave me the Master Shopper badge!

I figured I’d get the shopping badge soon after the saving badge, but I didn’t necessarily think it would be on the same day! I must have been fairly close to earning it anyway. Here is an updated look at my badge collection. Only four more gold badges to go!

As for other things going on in town, I found Tammi the monkey camping at the campsite. Yikes.

And I found that the entrance to the Reset Surveillance Center was open tonight. I dropped in, but I didn’t see anyone home at first. That is, until I walked over to the toilet and saw Resetti telling me about the baked squash he ate. Eww.

The other night, Vivian suggested a new public works project (PWP): the statue fountain!

This is what the statue fountain looks like. I know it fairly well, because there are many of them in the infamous Aika Village.

And I just have to say, it’s about time Vivian suggested a PWP! That’s the main reason I invited her into town, because I needed several snooty PWPs suggested. Well, better late than never. I like the statue fountain, and the price is very reasonable too. So I may consider adding one to Forest at some point.

I received two items I ordered in the mail recently, a blue cap and some sporty shades. I may wear this outfit for much of the summer.

Speaking of summer, today was the official start of the season in the northern hemisphere. It’s also the longest day of the year, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf celebrates the summer solstice by making the sun stay out all day (and night) long today. What a bright idea.

She handed out some ladder shades for the occasion. But I was already wearing some shades, so I didn’t need them. Anyway, there was also a standee for the summer solstice at the plaza, so I stuck my face into it.

The extra daylight was confusing Bob, who didn’t know if he should be sleeping or eating.

I spotted a balloon present up in the sky, so I got my slingshot out and shot it down. It contained a rocking chair.

As for bank account balance, I’m very close to reaching my goal. In fact, I should reach 100 million by Friday! 🙂
