Yesterday, I got this conical straw hat in the mail from Gulliver in Vietnam.

Today, Squishy came over to smuggle sell some oranges at Re-Tail.

As she was selling, I picked some peaches and put a basket of them in my storage. When I came back out of my house, I apparently scared Squishy. I guess she didn’t know where I was, and then I suddenly appeared. Maybe she was just afraid that I was Copper, about to sniff out her illegal fruit smuggling ring. 😛

When she was done, I ended the session and put my 3DS in sleep mode. I picked it back up later on, and I found some fresh perfect oranges right in front of the train station. Thanks, Squishy! I’ll be sure to give these to my villagers as I try to squeeze them into giving me their pictures. 😉

I spotted a bug on my tree stump, so I got my net out and caught it. It was a longhorn beetle. Since the July Bug-Off was being held today, I decided to give that beetle to Nat. He judged it and gave it a score of 62 points.

That was enough to put me in first place, and Nat gave me a minimalist lamp. A light, simple reward.

I didn’t try to top that score, and I just waited out the Bug-Off. Later on, I returned for the winners’ ceremony. Aurora got third place with a 35-point snail, Rolf got second place with a 47-point walking stick, and my longhorn beetle hung on to win. Yay.

My recent dream visitors have been Nelly from Spirit (yesterday) and then today, MaryAnn from Tropical! That’s a familiar name! Hi Yann, if you happen to read this!

Animals in town will frequently thank me for enacting the night owl ordinance, since it keeps shops open later and villagers stay up later. But Camofrog wasn’t so happy about it, as I found out the other night.

Today, Aurora asked me for some fruit. I gave her a perfect peach, and in return, she gave me a shower! 😛

Vivian asked me to make a delivery to Big Top, and I agreed to help out. When I gave him the item, he thanked me by giving me his picture. Of course I already have several of these already, but thanks anyway.

Gulliver was down on the beach, and I decided to help him out for a change. He told me he was heading to a country where there are lots of motorcycles. I knew that he was headed for Vietnam. He’ll send me a gift from there tomorrow.

Camofrog told me he was planning on moving out on July 23rd, but I told him not to go. I do want to let him go soon, but not until I get his picture!

Since I still need pics from Camofrog and Boots, I’ve been trying to chat with them a lot lately. But it’s often hard to track them down. Not just because they’re green and camofrogged camouflaged, but also because I have trouble using the megaphone to find them. When I call Camofrog, Kapp’n usually responds with “Gar?” And whenever I yell for Boots, Agent S seems to respond. Ugh.

I hope the next Animal Crossing game lets you choose from a list of your villagers when you use the megaphone.

In the southwest park, I found Bob sitting on the yellow bench. He asked me to join him.

I took a seat to join him, but I didn’t stay for long. I had to get back to searching for Boots. 😛

On Monday, which was the day after Agent S’s birthday, the superhero squirrel sent me this thank-you note. She included her picture with the letter. Of course I already had her picture, but that’s a nice gesture. I don’t recall getting a villager pic in a letter that wasn’t a goodbye letter before.

Camofrog asked me for a new catchphrase on Tuesday, and I told him to say “frog you!” It works especially well when he looks angry like this.

Yesterday, I saw Vivian just standing perfectly still in the flowers behind Rolf’s house. I think she was going #1.

Boots asked me for some new furniture, so I headed into Re-Tail to see what was available. I found a nice rococo chair…that Boots himself was selling. Hmm, would he mind if I gave him the exact chair he was trying to get rid of? I bought it to find out.

I took it over to Boots, and he had a surprised reaction.

But not only did he like it, he even said that it looks new! 😀 😀 😀

He rewarded me with a chocolate fountain.

Tonight, Boots asked me for another favor. This one was more specific: He wanted a saw shark, and I decided to help him out. I went out to the island, and started fishing for sharks. I was catching hammerheads and regular sharks, but it wasn’t until my 8th shark that I caught a saw shark. Well, at least I can sell the others for some bells.

I returned to the mainland and took the shark over to Boots. He seemed shocked that I actually caught it for him.

My reward this time was a polka-dot low table. I’m hoping to get his picture sometime soon. We’ll see.
