Passing Around Skeletons

In mid-June, Mira gave me an interesting gift when she was clearing out some old junk: her skeleton! ðŸĐŧ Although I don’t think it wasn’t actually her skeleton; she was still standing upright after all, so that was a dead giveaway.

Mira: You wouldn't want my nice skeleton or anything, would you?
If I didn’t have one, I’d be jelly!

And just a few moments later, Boots complimented me on my new skeleton! I guess the word really spread fast! It rattled through the community at break-neck speeds. 😛

Boots: You're the proud owner of the finest skeleton I've ever seen!

He offered me 840 bells for it, and I figured I could spare a rib, so I agreed to sell it. Boots was happy to have it, and he was probably relieved that it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. 😉

Sorry if my skeleton puns were bad… to the bone. I hope you found at least some of them to be humerus. ðŸĶī And if not, I have a bone to pick with you. 😉

I later got to see the inside of Marina’s house now that she has unpacked. But Marina could only see the inside of her eyelids, since she was sleeping at the time.

The inside of Marina's house.

Yesterday, it was raining (and storming) in Forest. Inkwell was feeling sad that he was going to be soaked from head to toe…in ink.

Inkwell: Geez... Before long, I'll be soaked from head to toe, in ink.
But isn’t that normal for you?

I was delivering something from Marina to Inkwell, but Inkwell intended it as a gift to me. It was an orange tie-dye tank. He said he wears his while training…in ink, of course.

Inkwell: Pretty cool, huh? Everyone should have an orange tie-dye tank!
Inkwell: I like to wear mine during training! In ink!

Meanwhile, Marina told me that the rain was making her feet soaked and wrinkly. I don’t need to hear this.

Marina: All the walking I've been doing today has my feet all soaked and wrinkly, blurp!

Today, I found Hornsby just standing under the illuminated arch. It wasn’t even turned on yet, but my favorite blue rhino was already charged up by the sight of it.

Hornsby stands under a non-illuminated illuminated arch.

When I spoke with him, he asked me for a new piece of furniture. The only thing I had with me was a mini tootoid that I had just dug up. But he didn’t mind it at all. In fact, he found it to be deliciously good.

Hornsby: Decorating with a gyroid is like adding a friend to my home! So awesome, I ate it.

He rewarded me with a kiddie chair.

Benjamin the dog was camping over at the campsite today. He’s not my favorite dog, but it didn’t really matter anyway because my town is full.

Benjamin, at the campsite: Hey! Are you from this town?

Marina asked me to make another delivery, this time it was some clothing for Mira. But because I guessed incorrectly about what the gift was, I didn’t get rewarded for the delivery. But at least Marina threw some shade at Mira. 😆

Marina: I wasn't really worried, though. Mira doesn't care quite so much about manners.

And while at Re-Tail, I snapped this screenshot of Boots standing between me and the camera. I just thought it looked kinda funny. Do you agree?

Reese: Sure! You are more than welcome! What would you like to sell?

Marina Moves In

On Sunday, I found Marina over at the campsite!

Marina: Hello. I hope it's all right that I've decided to camp here. You have a lovely town.

It took me about two seconds to decide that I wanted to invite her into town. But she seemed more interested in playing games that involved one of us buying items from the other. I played a few of the games, but turned down even more requests. I did lose a steamroller in the process, though. 😛

Marina, at the campsite: I'll keep the steamroller you're holding as a souvenir.

But eventually (after probably 15 tries or so), she offered to play a game to see if she would move in! Fortunately, the game was charades, and those are pretty easy. So Marina agreed to move in!

Marina: Yes, you got it! I'm flattered you know me so well.
If you’re flattered, it’s probably from the steamroller. 😛

The next day, Mira told me that she accidentally ate a rotten apple! Oops!

Mira: The other day I ate a totally rotten apple!

She said she has lost confidence in her senses, so she asked me to pick a fresh apple for her.

Mira: I'm still not sure how I didn't notice till I ate it... But I've lost confidence in my senses!
Mira: I need a good one to get the rotten taste outta my mouth! Is that cool?
Sure, I’ll find an appealing one for you!

So I went out and picked an apple for her. Mira loved it, and she rewarded me with a ranch tea table.

Yesterday, it was raining in town. Boots used both his greeting and his catchphrase in one random-sounding, chaotic speech bubble. 😆

Boots: I'll eat you!! Plan for today: shower outside! Ha ha! At Nook's!

Hornsby asked me to return something to Jeremiah, and I agreed to help out. But Jeremiah wanted to play a game with it, asking me what I thought it was. I guessed (or hoped) that it was furniture…and I was wrong. (So I got no reward for making the delivery.)

Jeremiah: YOU ARE INCORRECT! The correct answer was actually clothing.
You don’t have to yell, man.

While Marina’s plot showed up yesterday, there was already another camper in town. It was Flurry the hamster, and she’s cute.

Flurry, at the campsite: Oh, hello. Are you from here? I fell in love with this town and decided to take a camping trip here.

I found a lost item on the ground, and I returned it to its owner, Molly. It was her book, and it apparently had a lot of sentimental value to her.

Molly: I've had this book since I was little. So many wonderful memories... I couldn't be happier you found it!

She rewarded me with another copy of her photo.

Today, Marina has officially moved in. Her house is just south of the campsite, very close to Rolf’s house.

Rolf's house and Marina's new house.

I don’t mind the location except for one thing: The house took out six gold roses when it “landed.” Oof.

I went inside to greet Marina now that she’s an official resident here. Welcome to Forest, Marina!

Marina: Oh, Jeff! I'm so glad to see you. It was your invitation at camp that convinced me to move here.

She joins Inkwell to make octopus the most-common species in Forest at the moment. (My other eight villagers are all different species.) And Marina joins Molly and Mira as I now have three “M” villagers in town. Marina is also my first new villager since 2023, when Mira moved in!

But surprisingly, there was yet another camper at the campsite today! That’s three campers in four days! Today’s camper is Coach, who I never would’ve invited to town. 😆

Coach: I was really focused on running. I ran and ran and ran. And when I looked up, I was in this town!

Hornsby told me he’d like to try a piece of perfect fruit, so I gave him a perfect peach. He loved it, even though he used his catchphrase rather redundantly.

Hornsby: Wow! That was probably the tastiest perfect peach I've ever eaten, I ate it.

He rewarded me with what he called a “fantastic” gift: A common bed.

Hornsby: A fantastic piece of fruit deserves a fantastic gift! Here--take my common bed!
