Pole-Vaulting Octopus

On Thursday, I found a lost item (a glove) on my central bridge. I later returned it to Inkwell, who said it was his pole-vaulting glove! I’ve never seen him pole-vault before, but he is a sucker for track-and-field events! 😆

Inkwell: Oh, yeah! My pole-vaulting glove!

He knew it was his because it was still damp from his hand sweat! I didn’t even know he had hands! 😉

Inkwell: Feels a bit damp from hand sweat... Yup, it's mine all right!

The concept of a pole-vaulting animal would make more sense in New Horizons, since it has the vaulting pole to cross rivers. (Even though animals don’t use one.) But Inkwell thanked me for returning his glove, and he gave me a bunny tee. I decided to put it on right away.

I spotted a balloon present flying overhead, so I got my slingshot out and shot down the balloon. There was only a balloon TV inside, but I liked this screenshot with my statue fountain in the background.

On Friday, Tutu the bear was camping at the campsite. She seemed nice, but I was not interested in asking her to move in.

Tutu: Hi there! I'm just visiting your cute little town. You know, camping and all.

Rolf asked me to deliver a gift to Molly, and I agreed to help out. Even though it took me a minute to find Molly, once I did, she was right back near Rolf!

Molly: Really? A package for me was delivered to Rolf's house?

The gift was actually a danger shirt that Molly was giving me.

Today, Hornsby asked me for some new furniture to replace his grapefruit table. I gave him the sapling clock that Isabelle gave me earlier this month for my town’s anniversary.

Hornsby: Oh! A sapling clock!

He rewarded me with a cabin rug.

When I went to see Aurora, I saw that Jeremiah was also visiting. She said the last time she had so many people at her house, they played Go Fish.

Aurora: Last time I had this many people at my house, we played a rousing game of go fish. It was intense!

Lolly asked me for a river fish, and she was still standing nearby when I caught her a bluegill.

I caught a bluegill! There's a lot in this ville! 8.80 in.

She rewarded me with a purple tie-dye tank.

When I went up to Main Street, Boots seemed confused. He couldn’t remember where the shop was!

Boots: Oops... Where was the shop I wanted to go to?

After I came back into town, Lolly asked if I was interested in a tuk-tuk!

Lolly: Hey, cupcake... Can I interest you in a tuk-tuk?

She said it was an impulse buy that she’s not using. Except that the tuk-tuk is a Gulliver item, so I don’t know how she would have bought it!

Lolly: Mine was an impulse buy, and I'm not really using it. I hate to see it sitting there untouched.

She wanted 1,440 bells for it, and I decided to be nice and buy it from her.

Forest Turns 13

May 2nd was my town anniversary, marking 13 years since I first moved into Forest. Isabelle dragged me to the event plaza for a celebration. Mabel, Boots, and Rolf also joined us for the ceremony.

Isabelle: Ahem... Mayor Jeff, fellow citizens... Thank you all for gathering here today!

She also gave me a sapling clock. Forest is now a teenager!

I still can't believe it--13 years since your inauguration... What a ride it's been!

Once I returned to my house, I checked my mail and found a Merlion from Gulliver.

Today, Rolf asked me for a piece of fruit. I gave him a perfect peach, and he loved it. He rewarded me with a lucky cat, which I later put in my house.

Rolf: A lucky cat will have to serve as a sign of my gratitude! Go ahead! Free for you!

Hornsby asked me to catch a river fish for him, and I went out and found a pale chub. When I took it back to Hornsby, he gave me a men’s toilet for it.

Hornsby: It's a men's toilet!

Saharah was in town, and I paid her 3,000 bells to install some new wallpaper and flooring. She put in a chic wall and cowhide rug. Probably not the best combination.

Saharah: I tell this to the Nook man. He ask me to leave.

Down on the beach, I found a lost item (a bag).

A lost item I found on the beach.

I asked Inkwell about it, and he said it was his. He thanked me for returning it, and he gave me a medicine chest.

Inkwell: Take my medicine chest. A little thank-you from me to you.

After I was done making my rounds, I went up to Main Street and relaxed on a bench overlooking the sea.

Yesterday, I posted my annual slideshow of my best screenshots over the past year. Here is New Leaf – The 13th Year in Pictures:
