Return of Theme Nights

Some of you may remember something I used to do in ACCF Wi-Fi sessions called “theme nights.” I would open my gate and there would be an outfit for each person to wear. Each of us would play along with the theme. For example, there was a pirate night where we all dressed up like pirates and talked like pirates too. There was also a caveman night and a clown/jester night, I believe.

To spice up the online play of New Leaf, I’ve decided to bring theme nights back. The theme this time? It’s frog night! I opened my gate at 10:00 and I was joined by Merka, Beth, and Mike. For maximum frogginess, we went up to the frog themed room in my pad.

Four frogs hanging out in my frog themed room on theme night. We then glitched into the lake, wished on some shooting stars, and played in the waterfall.

Four frogs on Kapp'n's boat. Kapp’n had one thing on his mind, though: He thought we were cucumber rolls!

Kapp'n, singing: The best time to eat cucumber roll is when you have one right in front of you!Beth went on “brb” for a while, so the rest of us went outside and caught a few bugs. Once she returned, we went on a few island tours.

Tortimer: That wet suit you've got on will let you hop straight into the ocean and start swimming. On the diving tour, I got this funny picture of Beth coming up for air, right as she caught something. It looks like she’s about to sneeze.

Froggy Beth comes up for air.We also went on a fishing tour and a scavenger hunt tour. Once we returned to Forest, I did a little glitching on the dock to stand on Kapp’n’s boat. Merka decided to sit down in the boat, which nearly pushed me off! She’s lucky I have frog-like reflexes!

Froggy Jeff standing on the boat.Mike went to visit his former villager Julian, and we all stopped at his house. While there, I saw Julian’s eyes! It’s not very often you see his eyes open like this!

Julian, with open, white eyes: Huh? Oh, you don't!After that, we hopped up to the Roost for some coffee. Along with some sour cream, onions, and pepper. Don’t judge us, we’re frogs. We have weird taste buds.

Four frogs having coffee.Merka, who lives in Australia, asked us what it sounded like when we pressed the 0 (zero) button on the in-game keyboard. I said it sounds like “zed” or “zeh.” It was then pointed out that the 7 button and the 0 button both sound the same. So everyone was typing out lots of sevens and zeroes to test it out. 😛

Mike wanted to shop, so we all headed up to Main Street.

Two frogs go up to Main Street.I did more glitching on Main Street, at the end with the museum and the pond. I would appear on top of the museum (on my screen, at least), but when I would throw beans, I would temporarily appear in the doorway.

Glitching on the museum in a frog suit.As people were walking through my body, Merka told us that she was leaving for the night.

Merka says goodbye as frog people pass through me.But after Merka left and the game resumed, I died. Now I know how Frogger feels when he gets hit by a truck.

A froggy Jeff dies in the museum door. After picking my froggy corpse up off the ground, Mike suggested dancing in Club LOL. KK’s show was quite enjoyable tonight. We especially loved the the gyroid solo, where my four tootoids went crazy farting to some sick beats. 😛

Frogs dancing in Club LOL.Once we had our fill of dancing and gyroid farts, I decided to end the session for the night. Thanks to Merka, Beth, and Mike for coming. I had a good time! I will probably have more theme nights in the future, but with a different theme, of course.

Just a few notes on what happened earlier in the day: Aurora asked me to make a delivery to Bob, so of course I agreed to help out. When I took the item to Bob, he surprised me by giving me his picture! I got Bob’s pic!

Bob: It's Bob's pic!The quote on Bob’s pic is “You only live once…or nine times.” YOLO…ONT!

Quote on Bob's pic: You only live once...or nine times. And in Re-Tail, Agent S was buying my amethyst. But the interesting part is how that giant Papa bear appeared so large on-screen in this shot. Maybe I’m just easily amused. 😛

Agent S: Do you, like, think I should buy your amethyst? My most recent dream visitor was Chrissy from Happy. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend! 🙂

Grass and Clouds

The other night, Bob told he was out hunting…for a men’s toilet!

Bob: You might not know this, but I've been on the hunt for a sweet men's toilet.I had one in my pocket, and Bob offered me 400 bells for it. I agreed to the trade, just to be nice. And it helps my cash flow.

Today, I noticed that the grass and trees in town are now a different shade of green.

The new color of grass and trees.

Rolf approached me and gave me a new shirt, the cloudy tee.

Rolf: I thought you could use some more clothes! Feel free to wear my style with pride!I decided to put it on and wear it, at least for a day or so. Hey, I match the sky!

Me wearing the cloudy tee I got from Rolf. There was a tent at the campsite, so I went inside to see who was visiting. Caroline the red squirrel was the camper inside. I showed her my shirt, and her eyes nearly popped out of her head!

I wear my cloudy tee as Caroline looks on at the campsite.Luna told me my most recent dream visitor was Dragon from Pooville. 😛

Just passing on a little Animal Crossing news: It’s been reported that the Animal Crossing app, which was supposed to be released this autumn, has been delayed to 2017. It should now be out by the end of March. I’m hoping this won’t push back the release of the New Leaf update that’s supposed to come out this fall, but who knows. I guess we’ll find out for sure when Nintendo posts their Animal Crossing mini-Direct video in a couple of months.

Anyway, Friday Night Forest is tomorrow! Anyone on my roster is free to drop by, and I’ll be opening about 10 p.m. Eastern time (7 p.m. Pacific time). As I’ve mentioned before, I have something planned that I’m bringing back from ACCF. It’s not a major project like my match race or Megan’s shell game, but it is something that should make Friday Night Forest a tad more playful and fun. 😉 So be sure to check for the blog entry late tomorrow night!

Labor Day 2016

Today is Labor Day in the U.S., and Isabelle was at the event plaza to hand out picnic baskets for the occasion.

Isabelle: It's a picnic basket! Please take it in celebration of the nice, relaxing Labor Day!Here you can take a closer look at the picnic basket, as seen on my fireplace.

The picnic basket I got from Isabelle on Labor Day, as seen on my fireplace. That reminds me that I need to redecorate that sleek furniture room with a new theme. I have something in mind, but it probably won’t be done anytime soon.

Pashmina asked me to collect signatures for a petition called Mandatory Snack Time. I’ll never get re-elected mayor if I come out as anti-snacks, so I knew I had to help the cause!

Pashmina: Oh! I need to run something by you. I'm collecting signatures for the Mandatory Snack Time issue!
Relax, there won’t be a tax on snacks.

And at the top of the waterfall, I found a lost book.

A lost book on the ground near my brick bridge at the top of the waterfall.I went around asking my villagers about the lost item. I couldn’t find Molly or Bob, but I asked everyone else. Or at least I thought I did.

Later on, Beth opened up her gate so that I could collect signatures in her town. I forgot to take a picture of the completed petition, but her animals were quite helpful and they eagerly joined the cause.

When I was done, I opened my gate for Beth to get a picnic basket from Isabelle. We also posed at the Labor Day face-cutout standee.

Beth and Jeff angrily pose in face-cutout standee for Labor Day.I tried displaying a dorado I caught in the river earlier, and it poked through the faceboard somehow. Maybe I can stand here and cook it.

I show off my dorado, which pokes through the Labor Day face-cutout standee.I returned the completed petition to Pashmina, and she thanked me by giving me a rococo chair.

Pashmina: People really got behind the ol' Mandatory Snack Time issue! Then, I knew I had to track down Bob and Molly to return the lost book. I figured they must be on Main Street, and indeed they were. Molly was in the Emporium, but the book wasn’t hers. So I searched the museum for Bob, and eventually I found him in the art gallery. Surprisingly, the item wasn’t his either!

So that meant I must have missed someone! I had to start all over, asking everyone. Beth helped me track down my villagers. Big Top? Not his. Still not Pashmina’s. Still not Hamlet’s. Or Julian’s, Aurora’s, Rolf’s, or Daisy’s. The only one left this time was Agent S. And thankfully, it was hers. At last.

Agent S: Hey! I've been looking everywhere for my book!
And I’ve been looking everywhere for you!

She rewarded me with a dapper tee. 😮 Seriously? I had to ask 17 villagers for this, and all I got was a lousy t-shirt? I need to stop picking these things up. It’s just not worth it. Even though it’s not usually this difficult to find the owner.

Anyway, I hope you all had a nice day. Just as a reminder, Friday Night Forest is this week! I’ll be bringing back something I used to do in ACCF, but I don’t want to ruin the surprise for my guests until they arrive. But it’s not a race and it does not involve pitfall seeds. No more hints now. 🙂

Luna told me that Lily from Verona recently visited my dream town. Thanks for stopping by! See you next time!
