Julian’s Pic

The Bug-Off competition was held on Saturday, and Hamlet was the big (little) winner. Actually, all of the winners are a bit short. But Hamlet won with a 49-point tiger beetle.

Nat proclaims Hamlet the winner of the Bug-Off competition at the winners' ceremony. On Sunday, I opened my gate for a bit so Michael Bluth (Beth) could sell some perfect oranges. (What could they cost, $10?) Tom also stopped over for a rare visit, and he fell into the pitfall behind my face-cutout standee. Well, at least I knew it was then safe to go make an evil squid face.

Tom calls me an evil squid as I make an angry face while using the face-cutout standee with a Splatoon squid design on it.I caught a nice petaltail dragonfly while they were visiting. I don’t see these very often! Well maybe it’s because I usually play later in the evenings. But it’s still rewarding to catch these things.

I caught a petaltail dragonfly!Yesterday, my bank account balance topped 81 million bells for the first time.

And today, Curly the pig was camping at the campsite! My old ACCF friends and I used to joke about making bacon balls out of Curly when he lived in my town several years back.

Curly: Heya! Do you live in this town?Beth invited me to her town Acorn to see the meteor shower tonight. I got a picture in front of the train station there. I like how the moon was just poking above the top of the train station.

I wish on a shooting star as the moon pokes above the train station in Acorn. We also stood on the bridge and wished on more shooting stars there.

Jeff and Beth wishing on two shooting stars.Jeff acts shocked as Beth wishes on a shooting star. When I returned to Forest, Julian asked me for a peach. I gave him a perfect peach, and he loved it. My reward was Julian’s pic!

Julian: So please take this gift. It's Julian's pic!I temporarily put Julian’s pic on display in my house so I could take a look at it. His favorite quote is “Never trot when you can prance.”

Quote on Julian's pic: Never trot when you can prance.I now have pics of all my current villagers. Maybe it’s time to start letting some of these guys move out…

My recent dream visitors have been Alex from Pawnee, Mike from Philmont, Keegan from Lazywolf, and Rumia from Gensokyo. Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you next time!

Autumn Moon 2016

Today is the day (well, night) of the autumn moon (known as the harvest moon outside of the Animal Crossing universe). Isabelle was at the event plaza to hand out wheat bundles for the occasion.

Isabelle: To celebrate Autumn Moon tonight, I prepared wheat bundles for everyone. Would you like one? There is also a face-cutout standee at the plaza. You can turn yourself into a scarecrow by sticking your (straw-filled) head through the hole.

The scarecrow face-cutout standee for the autumn moon (harvest moon) celebration.I had a lot of mail in my mailbox today. Gulliver sent me a Big Ben from England, Katie sent me a digital-photo frame, and Daisy finally thanked me for the medicine I gave her earlier this week by sending me a black flannel shirt. I also got a letter from Mom that included a mountain standee.

Later in the evening, Daisy told me that the moon shines as brightly as a sheaf of wheat. I didn’t even realize that wheat shines, so that was quite an illuminating conversation. I still had my doubts about it, but maybe there’s a grain of truth to it.

Daisy: In fact, the moon shines as bright as a sheaf of wheat.Beth invited me over to her town Acorn briefly. While America gets wheat bundles for the autumn moon, Europe and Australia get veggie baskets instead. I had completely forgotten that we get different items for the event. Thanks, Beth!

Isabelle: To celebrate Autumn Moon, I've made veggie baskets for everyone! Would you like one?I also let her visit Forest so that she could pick up a wheat bundle. She wanted to look at the autumn moon, but it wasn’t out yet! I guess it appears later on (it was only 7:15 p.m. in Forest at the time).

After I ended the session, I put both items in my house to take a good look at them. Europeans definitely get the better item; the veggie basket looks great!

A veggie basket and wheat bundle, the items you get on the day of the autumn moon (in Europe and America, respectively).Later on, I went outside to take a look at the autumn moon itself. Looks good enough to howl to, if you happen to be a werewolf like me. Or even if you’re just a bit loony.

The autumn moon seen from my metal bench in Forest. My fountain and illuminated tree PWPs can also be seen.I hope you all enjoy the autumn moon tonight! I’ll see you all next time. Have a good weekend!

Ungrateful Daisy

It was raining in town last night, and Pashmina said we were both going to be all wet. I thought she meant from the rain, until she said she just peed! 😮

Pashmina: Ha ha! Hey, li'l guy! Looks like we're both gonna be all wet today! I peed!

A message on the bulletin board today reminded me that the autumn moon (harvest moon) is tomorrow.

~ Tomorrow's Weather ~ The forecast for our town tomorrow is sunny all day. The autmn moon should appear bright in the night sky, so keep your eyes up!Katie the annoying kitten was stinking up Forest, so I asked Beth to open up the town of Arrested. I hope Katie gets arrested and never comes back.

Katie: OK, I'm gonna go see what Arrested is all about!Back in Forest, I saw that Daisy wasn’t home. That meant she was over her sickness! I had some trouble tracking her down, but I eventually found her in the bug room in the museum. She didn’t thank me for taking her medicine, though. She only commented on how proud she is of our museum. Actually I’m the one who filled up the museum too, and she didn’t thank me for that either.

Daisy: I'm so proud of our museum for having every single insect in this area! It's pretty amazing.
Uh, you’re welcome. :/

Gulliver was down on the beach, about to take a trip to England to see Big Ben. Have a nice trip!

Gulliver: Hmmm... What was that country called?! I feel like it's right on the tippy-tip of my beaky beak!

Carson from Iqaluit was my most recent dream visitor. I’ll probably be back with another entry tomorrow for the autumn moon. See you then!
