August Bug-Off

I changed my CLE shirt from a black shirt into a white one recently. I also put up Chief Wahoo on my custom-design sign.

Chief Wahoo on my custom design-sign and my white CLE shirt. The August Bug-Off competition was held today, so I got a couple of emperor butterflies out of my dock box. I normally keep them there for the times when a villager asks for a butterfly, but they come in handy for the Bug-Off as well. The first one scored 81 points from Nat, and it took over the top spot in the competition.

Nat: Smashing!Nat rewarded me with a ladybug chair. The next emperor butterfly did even better, scoring 95 points! This time, Nat gave me a firefly lamp. The third emperor only scored 78 points, so I stopped there. I put the firefly lamp in my frog room (so I now have two of them in there).

After 6:00, I returned to the plaza and entered Nat’s tent for the Bug-Off winners’ ceremony. Daisy got 3rd place with a 39-point tiger butterfly, and Molly got 2nd place with a 40-point snail. But how did she catch a snail if it wasn’t raining today? My 95-point emperor butterfly easily won the contest.

Jeff, Molly, and Daisy hold up their Bug-Off trophies.Bob approached me and said he had a math question for me. He started off by saying a pig gave birth to 8 piglets, and then he said another mama pig had 9 piglets.

Bob: A pig gave birth to 8 piglets. Then another mama pig had 9 piglets. But then he never asked me for a total; he just sniffed and said he’s happy for the mama pigs. What an odd story…it doesn’t add up.

I visited Hamlet, and he had a trade offer for me. He gave me a frog tee in exchange for a freshwater goby I had caught. The offer seemed a tad fishy, but I took the bait and agreed to the trade.

Hamlet: I'll trade frog tee on my team. Freshwater goby on your team comes over to me.I finished up my night with some live music at Club LOL. I asked K.K. the singing dog for a random song, and he played K.K. Lullaby for me. Kidd stood behind me throughout the song.

By the way, sorry this entry was posted late. My internet was down for hours.

Fish and Chats with Julian

Yesterday, Bob approached me and gave me a lucky frog! He said he thought of me when he saw it. Everyone seems to associate me with frogs now for some reason. 😛

Bob: Since you're always helping me out, I got a little present. It's a lucky frog!Today, Peewee the gorilla was camping at the campsite. I got the impression that he doesn’t trust me.

Peewee glares at me inside a tent at the campsite.

Julian was fishing in the river tonight, and he told me a little story. Apparently, he was told that if he wanted to enjoy life, he should learn how to fish, in drag!

Julian: They told me that if you want to enjoy your life, you should learn how to fish, in drag!
I guess that explains the fishnet stockings.

I found Bob up in the aquarium at the museum (likely looking for a snack). He seemed a bit confused though: He said he was lucky to live here, in the sky.

Bob: I'm so lucky to live here, in the sky.Over by my central bridge, Daisy asked me to make a delivery to Hamlet…who was standing right behind me!

Daisy: Hamlet asked me a while ago to pick up something, but I got so busy that I forgot to deliver it!Hamlet had crossed the bridge by this time, but I still only had to walk a few feet to hand him the item. The gift was a nebula tee, and he tried it on right away. He even asked me how it looked, but he was standing in roses (and he’s short), so I couldn’t even see how it looked on him!

Hamlet: So what do you think? Does it look good on me?He thanked me by giving me a lemon. What kind of reward is that? It put me in a sour mood.

So I took a boat ride out to the island for some fishing. I caught dozens of fish, and several valuable bugs too. I made over 100,000 bells on my trip, but my main focus was working towards that fishing badge that’s been eluding me seemingly forever.

A bit later, I met up with Julian again. He said that Pashmina treats him like one of her gal pals! Hmm, I wonder why. 😛

Julian: Even though I'm a boy, she talks to me like I'm one of her gal pals! She's very kind, in drag.Daisy told me she was thinking of moving out of town on August 22nd, but I told her to stick around. I like Daisy, but I think I will let her move out at some point. Just not quite yet.

According to Luna, my most recent dream visitor was Xavier from Quigley. Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Night Fireworks

The second fireworks festival of the year started tonight at 7:00 p.m., and Isabelle was at the event plaza to hand out heart boppers. Just behind the plaza, I spotted a scorpion and I was able to snag it! Unlike the one from Thursday, I wasn’t forced to release this one.

I caught a scorpion! Not so fast now, are ya?!Hamlet seemed excited about the fireworks. He said the first fireworks of the night have the biggest impact…in his ear. 😉

Hamlet: Wow! Haha! The first fireworks always have the biggest impact! In my ear!At 8:00, I opened my gate for Sunday Night Fireworks. Beth and Squishy came over, and we posed for pictures by the SNF sign I made earlier in the day.

Beth, Jeff, and Squishy stand by the SNF sign as fireworks go off in the sky.I dug some holes around my tree stump and we did some glitching by all standing in the same spot.

Jeff, Squishy, and Beth standing in the same spot as we use the tree stump glitch. We used emotions for a few minutes or so. When I was about done, I tried kicking in one of the holes on the ground. But instead of doing that, I actually picked up a gold rose behind us…a gold rose on the other side of the tree stump!

The gold rose behind the stump missing. We then went up to the frog room in my house. For some reason, I was thinking the froggy chair didn’t make fart sounds in New Leaf. But sure enough, when I saw down in it (or stood back up), it would sometimes make the fart sound. But the interesting thing is that it didn’t fart when Beth or Squishy did it. Is it because they’re ladies? Is it because I’m now wearing shorts instead of long pants? Any ideas?

Jeff: Y U NO FART?When we went back outside, I had a chat with Bob. He said that one of the fireworks looked like his favorite type of flower. His catchphrase of “in the sky” worked out quite well here.

Bob: One of the fireworks that just exploded looked like my favorite type of flower, in the sky. After using my megaphone to scream into the ears of Squishy and Beth, we watched fireworks from several different spots around town. The metal bench in my central park was a great spot.

Watching fireworks from my central park area.My new geyser was also a prime location, although the geyser’s eruptions were so short that it was hard to get perfect pictures while the geyser was squirting and the fireworks were exploding.

Watching fireworks as the geyser erupts. From sitting on the bench, it appeared that the geyser’s eruption reached the moon!

Water from the geyser appears to reach the moon, as fireworks go off in the sky.We also headed over to the event plaza, where we bought some cookies from Crazy Redd and redeemed the tickets inside for prizes. Unfortunately, most of the prizes I got were duds.

Redd's Cookie: Too bad! You got a dAnd of course, we just had to glitch into/onto Redd’s stand. There’s always Squishy in the banana stand!

Squishy celebrates a successful glitch into Redd's stand.I also glitched onto his stand. Even though other people saw me inside the stand, I saw myself on top.

Standing on top of Crazy Redd's stand. But when I would throw beans. I would temporarily show up inside the stand. And yet, I saw the beans come from up above. (Everyone else saw the beans stay inside the stand).

Tossing beans from Crazy Redd's stand.Things got a bit messy when Beth glitched into the stand. I think she threw up on me!

Beth appears to puke beans out at me.That wasn’t very nice, so I killed her! By saving the game. Here you can see her corpse on top of the stand.

A dead Beth on top of Crazy Redd's stand.Next, we went back to the geyser and took turns glitching onto it.

Water from the geyser rushes through my body as I find a prize slip inside a cookie.Beth stands on the geyser as it erupts. Fireworks explode in the background.I went to check on Daisy, and she is finally over her cold. She gave me an exotic wall shelf to thank me for the medicine I’ve been taking her the past few days.

Daisy: Thanks for your help the other day, dude!We were running around the area north of my town hall, and I dug a few holes. Due to some lag, Beth fell into one of the holes as if it was a pitfall!

Beth stuck in a hole.We did more running and digging, trying to duplicate it, but no such luck. There were a few close calls though, where Beth kinda glitched over to a different spot (but without falling in). She got revenge a few minutes later, when she pushed me into the river.

Jeff: I CAN'T SWIM!Shortly before 10:00, I ended the session for the night. Thanks for coming, Squishy and Beth! I had a good time. I have something special planned for Friday Night Forest next month. I’m bringing back something I did in ACCF…but with a new twist. And no, it’s not sumo. 😉

Luna told me that my most recent dream visitor was Belen from Saturn. Thanks for stopping by!
