I changed my CLE shirt from a black shirt into a white one recently. I also put up Chief Wahoo on my custom-design sign.
The August Bug-Off competition was held today, so I got a couple of emperor butterflies out of my dock box. I normally keep them there for the times when a villager asks for a butterfly, but they come in handy for the Bug-Off as well. The first one scored 81 points from Nat, and it took over the top spot in the competition.
Nat rewarded me with a ladybug chair. The next emperor butterfly did even better, scoring 95 points! This time, Nat gave me a firefly lamp. The third emperor only scored 78 points, so I stopped there. I put the firefly lamp in my frog room (so I now have two of them in there).
After 6:00, I returned to the plaza and entered Nat’s tent for the Bug-Off winners’ ceremony. Daisy got 3rd place with a 39-point tiger butterfly, and Molly got 2nd place with a 40-point snail. But how did she catch a snail if it wasn’t raining today? My 95-point emperor butterfly easily won the contest.
Bob approached me and said he had a math question for me. He started off by saying a pig gave birth to 8 piglets, and then he said another mama pig had 9 piglets.
But then he never asked me for a total; he just sniffed and said he’s happy for the mama pigs. What an odd story…it doesn’t add up.
I visited Hamlet, and he had a trade offer for me. He gave me a frog tee in exchange for a freshwater goby I had caught. The offer seemed a tad fishy, but I took the bait and agreed to the trade.
I finished up my night with some live music at Club LOL. I asked K.K. the singing dog for a random song, and he played K.K. Lullaby for me. Kidd stood behind me throughout the song.
Alfie from Forest was my most recent dream visitor according to Luna. Thanks for stopping by!
By the way, sorry this entry was posted late. My internet was down for hours.
Today, Peewee the gorilla was camping at the campsite. I got the impression that he doesn’t trust me.

Over by my central bridge, Daisy asked me to make a delivery to Hamlet…who was standing right behind me!
Hamlet had crossed the bridge by this time, but I still only had to walk a few feet to hand him the item. The gift was a nebula tee, and he tried it on right away. He even asked me how it looked, but he was standing in roses (and he’s short), so I couldn’t even see how it looked on him!
He thanked me by giving me a lemon. What kind of reward is that? It put me in a sour mood.
Daisy told me she was thinking of moving out of town on August 22nd, but I told her to stick around. I like Daisy, but I think I will let her move out at some point. Just not quite yet.
Hamlet seemed excited about the fireworks. He said the first fireworks of the night have the biggest impact…in his ear. 😉
At 8:00, I opened my gate for Sunday Night Fireworks. Beth and Squishy came over, and we posed for pictures by the SNF sign I made earlier in the day.
I dug some holes around my tree stump and we did some glitching by all standing in the same spot.
We used emotions for a few minutes or so. When I was about done, I tried kicking in one of the holes on the ground. But instead of doing that, I actually picked up a gold rose behind us…a gold rose on the other side of the tree stump!
We then went up to the frog room in my house. For some reason, I was thinking the froggy chair didn’t make fart sounds in New Leaf. But sure enough, when I saw down in it (or stood back up), it would sometimes make the fart sound. But the interesting thing is that it didn’t fart when Beth or Squishy did it. Is it because they’re ladies? Is it because I’m now wearing shorts instead of long pants? Any ideas?
When we went back outside, I had a chat with Bob. He said that one of the fireworks looked like his favorite type of flower. His catchphrase of “in the sky” worked out quite well here.
After using my megaphone to scream into the ears of Squishy and Beth, we watched fireworks from several different spots around town. The metal bench in my central park was a great spot.
My new geyser was also a prime location, although the geyser’s eruptions were so short that it was hard to get perfect pictures while the geyser was squirting and the fireworks were exploding.
From sitting on the bench, it appeared that the geyser’s eruption reached the moon!
We also headed over to the event plaza, where we bought some cookies from Crazy Redd and redeemed the tickets inside for prizes. Unfortunately, most of the prizes I got were duds.
And of course, we just had to glitch into/onto Redd’s stand. There’s always Squishy in the banana stand!
I also glitched onto his stand. Even though other people saw me inside the stand, I saw myself on top.
But when I would throw beans. I would temporarily show up inside the stand. And yet, I saw the beans come from up above. (Everyone else saw the beans stay inside the stand).
Things got a bit messy when Beth glitched into the stand. I think she threw up on me!
That wasn’t very nice, so I killed her! By saving the game. Here you can see her corpse on top of the stand.
Next, we went back to the geyser and took turns glitching onto it.
I went to check on Daisy, and she is finally over her cold. She gave me an exotic wall shelf to thank me for the medicine I’ve been taking her the past few days.
We were running around the area north of my town hall, and I dug a few holes. Due to some lag, Beth fell into one of the holes as if it was a pitfall!
We did more running and digging, trying to duplicate it, but no such luck. There were a few close calls though, where Beth kinda glitched over to a different spot (but without falling in). She got revenge a few minutes later, when she pushed me into the river.
Shortly before 10:00, I ended the session for the night. Thanks for coming, Squishy and Beth! I had a good time. I have something special planned for Friday Night Forest next month. I’m bringing back something I did in ACCF…but with a new twist. And no, it’s not sumo. 😉
