Daisy is still sick, so I’ve been buying medicine for her each day. She should be getting over this illness pretty soon, I imagine.
I think the moon is warping the gravity in here.
Hamlet seemed to be in the Olympic spirit tonight. First, he wondered if it was okay to play in the town fountain. And then, he said he wanted to show me his crawl stroke, backstroke, and butterfly!
Go for the gold!
Gulliver was down on the beach, talking about tom yum kung and elephants. He’s headed off to Thailand, so he’ll be sending me a gift from there tomorrow.
You know you’ve been fishing a lot when you start accumulating multiple pieces of garbage in your pockets. Here, I had four boots!
While I haven’t earned that gold fishing badge yet, I have been making some money from selling all these fish. My bank account balance has now topped 78 million bells.
PWP Update
Pashmina surprised me with a new PWP (public works project) suggestion tonight! She told me to put in a windmill!
This is what it looks like. It’s a bit pricey though, costing 372,000 bells to install. Even though I’m a fan of windmills in general, it’s hard to justify blowing that much money on one…especially since I already have a wind turbine in town.
I am glad that Pashmina is suggesting these projects, though. If I’m not mistaken, I only need one more of the uchi PWPs from her: the wisteria trellis. Once she suggests that, I’ll be able to let her move out of town. But then, I should probably get a snooty villager, since there are several snooty PWPs I still need.
Luna told me that Ramon from Old Oak was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow for Sunday Night Fireworks!
Last night, I decided it was time to finally pick out a location for my geyser PWP (public works project). After an initial walk around town, I thought it would look best if it was visible from the yellow bench in my southwest park.
Beth came over to help me test out some spots. I asked her to stand in certain spots while I sat on the bench to imagine how it would look. Of course, she’s not as tall as a geyser, so I joked that she should grow to be 20 feet tall. š She said that if she had a famous mushroom, she could! That was a great idea that hadn’t even occurred to me!
I had two of the mushrooms near my event plaza, so I asked her to grab them and then return. I originally was thinking of placing the geyser on the left side, but I soon discovered it would be partially blocked by my street lamp. So I ultimately decided to put it on the right side instead.
We purposely disconnected to save one of the famous mushrooms, and I went to town hall to start the preparations. I immediately paid the 98,000 bell fee before ending my game for the night.
Today, I rushed over to check out my brand new geyser!
I also added that picture to my town page. As expected, the geyser is visible from the yellow bench.
I then went inside town hall to trigger the geyser’s completion ceremony. Isabelle started things off, I said a few words, and then everyone fired off some party poppers. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good picture of the party poppers going off (and the geyser wasn’t going off at the time anyway). But still, I consider the ceremony a splashing success.
This is the second PWP I’ve installed in 2016. The other one was the custom design sign I added in June. I also verified that I have not yet reached my maximum number of PWPs, so I’m still able to put in more projects…even another geyser if I wanted. But I have no current plans to do so.
Later on, I tried to glitch onto the geyser. But I didn’t end up on it…I was standing in it. I got soaked; it was a real pain in the neck.
Do not try this at home.
My villagers were gushing over the new addition to town. Hamlet made up a game about it, called “Geyser.” It involves blinking right as the geyser goes off. I don’t see what’s so exciting about that, but whatever floats his boat.
At T&T Emporium, I bought some medicine for Daisy since she’s sick as a dog. Get well soon, Daisy!
Julian asked me for a hammerhead shark tonight, and that’s a lot to ask. But IĀ would like to earn Julian’s picture, so I used it as an excuse to go to the island and do some fishing. (I also caught a bunch of valuable bugs, too). It took a while, but I eventually scored myself a hammerhead.
I returned to town and gave it to him. He rewarded me with some plank flooring. That’s all he’s giving me for a hammerhead? What a tool. I should’ve made him walk the plank for that!
On my way up to Re-Tail to sell my catches, I spotted a scorpion! I quickly caught it with my net. But my pockets were full, and there were no free spots on the ground (not covered with patterns or flowers), so I was forced to release it!
That really stings.
When I made it up to the post office to deposit some money into my bank account, I was able to get my balance to 77,777,777 bells! Jackpot! I’m 7/9ths of the way to my goal! Or…seven of nine? š
Just a reminder that there’s no Friday Night Forest tomorrow. Instead, I’ll be opening my gate on Sunday night at 8 p.m. Eastern time (5 p.m. Pacific time) for Sunday night fireworks.
My recent dream visitors have been Katy from Torquay, Victoria from Mt. Lebo, and Ilayda from Istanbul. Thanks for stopping by!
The first fireworks festival of the season was held today. Beth is five hours ahead of me, so she invited me over to her town Acorn to see them. While I was there, Isabelle gave me a flower bopper to wear.
Beth also showed me her new suspension bridge, which she just paid off the other day.
She also gave me a fortune cookie from Crazy Redd; it contained a crackle prize. I went over to Redd’s tent to redeem it, and he gave me an Ultra Hand. That came in handy, because I actually gave Beth an Ultra Hand a while back to put in Buster’s room in the town of Arrested. So I can put this one back in storage.
Shortly after that, Beth kicked me out. Back in Forest, the animals were looking forward to the fireworks.
Once 7:00 rolled around, I headed over to the event plaza. Isabelle gave me a fountain firework.
I stood on my bridge to watch fireworks for a bit, including the firework of my CLE pattern that I gave Isabelle earlier in the day.
I was having a good evening, but it got better when I saw Phineas in town! All this relentless bug-catching lately has paid off! He gave me the Master Bug Catcher badge! Phine-ally!Ā
It’s my 17th gold badge, and I only need seven more. My current badge collection looks like this:
I didn’t get the fishing badge yet, but it was more important to get the Master Bug Catcher one before most of the insects go away in the autumn. Fish are plentiful year-round, so that wasn’t as urgent to get done. But hopefully I’ll get it soon too.
Several of my villagers were out enjoying the fireworks tonight. Although Rolf’s worried expression didn’t seem to match his words. Maybe fireworks scare him, and he just doesn’t want to admit it.
Luna told me that Chad from Haven was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by!
And just a reminder that the New Leaf update is coming at some point this autumn. No specific release date yet, but you will be able to use Amiibo Cards to invite villagers into your town. If you’d like to stock up on cards, here are Amazon links for each series: Series 1 – Series 2 – Series 3 – Series 4
Update: There is one other thing I want to mention. Instead of having Friday Night Forest this coming Friday, I’m going to be opening my gate next Sunday (August 14th) for fireworks, probably around 8:00 p.m. Eastern time (5 p.m. Pacific time).
