A Bug for Bob

I want to share this awesome drawing that Beth made recently. It features me and all of Forest’s animal villagers. You can click the pic to make it bigger. Thank you very much, Beth!

Yesterday, Aurora sent me a gift in the mail that she was confident I would like. It was… *drum roll* …a bug zapper! Wow. At least she didn’t say I was a bug zapper in a previous life like Bob did last week.

Julian approached me, wanting my pickle. He only offered me 240 bells for it, but I agreed to the dill.

Julian: I'm not sure why I want your pickle jar so much. Maybe I just like all this drama.

Then Bob asked me to catch a rainbow stag for him. It’s not an easy bug to come by, but I told him I’d find one for him. I figured that would give me an excuse to catch more bugs, and that helps me in two other ways: It earns me some extra money, and it helps add to my bug count (for the insect badge).

It took me quite a while, but I eventually caught the rainbow stag.

I caught a rainbow stag! Aren't you a colorful bug!

When I took it to Bob, he rewarded me with a polka-dot stool. I was kind of hoping for his picture, but it’s probably too soon to realistically expect that yet.

Bob: Sweet! I can't believe I'm seeing a rainbow stag in real life!
Look how happy he is! 🙂

On the bright side, I did earn over 250,000 bells from the bugs (and a few sharks) I caught. That’s over a quarter million bells–not bad for one night’s work.

Then today, Beth had perfect peaches as her premium item at Re-Tail, so she invited me over to sell. I only had 13 perfect peaches left, but they sold for 78,000 bells. Thanks, Beth!

Re-Tail premium item: Perfect peach.Beth also came over to Forest for a short visit. She picked up my toy hammer and started hitting me with it. But the game was laggy, so I was nowhere near her most of the times my head reacted with the shocked emotion. I wasn’t able to get a picture that showed it as well as I hoped, but this one shows my eyes reacting to a hit even though Beth was facing the opposite direction.

I react to a toy hammer hit, despite my abuser facing the opposite direction.Gulliver was down on the beach, so I used the megaphone to wake him up right away. He was talking about the Cossack dance and matryoshka dolls, so I knew he was headed to Russia. My seagull comrade will be sending me some of those dolls in the mail tomorrow.

Gulliver: AYE AYE, SIR!

My recent dream visitors have been Alison from Paradise and Mayounna from Amy Rose. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you’re enjoying your weekend! 🙂

Recycling Pickles

Yesterday, I found an unusual item at Re-Tail: a pickle jar! Who recycles pickles?! Agent S, that’s who.

Reese: Oh, the pickle jar? This item belongs to Agent S from here in Forest.I bought the pickles, since recycling and being green is good for the environment. But I didn’t stop there: I took the pickle jar to Cyrus and had him customize it for me. That’s right, I’m turning Agent S’s unwanted pickle into a carrot! Orange you glad I’m getting to the root of the problem? Or maybe you just don’t carrot all.

Beth came over to shop, and I gave her a “tour” of T&T Emporium. By that, I mean I went around and tried to make a joke, pun, or song/TV reference for each item. For example, I told her the vacuum cleaner sucks. And after I bought the wall shelf, I told her I took a shelfie.

Jeff, near a vacuum cleaner: This one sucks.

Tonight, I was quite disappointed to find Katie in my town once again. I just dumped her off in another town a few days ago, so why do I have to see this annoying cat again? Ugh, I hate Katie so much.

Katie: Oh, it's you again! The mayor guy! Remember me? It's Katie!
Just die.

I was fishing tonight, when Pashmina decided to be annoying. She stood next to me staring as I caught this black bass. I could feel her stinky goat breath on my neck. Yuck.

I catch a fish as Pashmina breathes down my neck.Saharah was also in town tonight, and I paid her for some new wallpaper and carpeting. She put in an industrial wall and a playroom rug. What an odd combination.

An industrial wall and playroom rug. When I put some money into my bank account, my balance topped 77 million bells.

Your current balance is 77,030,000 bells.

Lily Encounters

Late on Saturday night, I found Katie the annoying traveling cat in my town. Beth was kind enough to open her gate for me, so I dumped Katie off at her town Acorn. Now she’s Beth’s problem. 😛

Katie: OK, I'm gonna go see what Acorn is all about!
Thanks, Beth!

While I was there, I got to hear the 6 a.m. music. That’s a song I rarely get to hear! I introduced myself to Beth’s villager Lily, who had an idea for a book called Acorn: Wild World!

Lily: I even have an idea! Doesn't a story called Acorn: Wild World sound interesting?Beth told me that Lily was moving out of Acorn soon (although later she got Lily to change her mind).

Yesterday, I got a bunch of letters with gifts attached in the mail. Wishy sent me a queen, Gulliver sent me a Manneken Pis (peeing statue), Katie sent me a toy camera, and Big Top sent me an office chair! It’s rare to get that many presents at once!

Squishy told me that perfect peaches were the premium item at her Re-Tail, and she opened her gate for me. So I headed over to her town Cosmic–but it’s a newer Cosmic, not the same town I previously featured in a Dream Suite Adventure.

Jeff: Thank you! After giving Squishy a basket of smuggled perfect peaches, I sold the rest at Re-Tail. Reese paid me a whopping 612,000 bells for them all! Thanks again, Squishy!

Reese: Since I'm paying premium for all of these items today...the total is an amazing 612,000 bells! OK?By the way, Squishy and Beth share a New Leaf blog called Cosmic Acorns. Go check it out! 🙂

When I returned home, I put my money bags into my bank account at the post office. My balance topped 76 million bells.

While asking Copper if any visitors were in town, he told me there was a camper at the campsite. I was surprised to see that Lily was inside! Is this the same Lily I just saw in Beth’s town just 16 hours earlier?

Lily in a tent at the campsite.Beth came over for a short visit in the evening. When I tried to have a chat with my good buddy Bob, Beth got in the middle of our conversation. Literally.

Beth stands in between me and Bob as Bob asks me what's up.And then today (August 1st), a message was posted on the bulletin board about the upcoming fireworks. That’s right, fireworks season is almost here. The first fireworks festival of the year is coming up on Sunday.

~ Notice ~ The fireworks show starts at 7 p.m. this coming Sunday! Don't miss it!I found Pashmina sitting on my metal bench, and she told me about a little accident she had. She crossed her legs, her legs fell asleep, and then she peed! Yuck, now I’ll need to hose this thing off before sitting on it.

Pashmina: Arghh! I crossed my legs, and they fell asleep! I peed!I made a trip out to the island for some bug-catching (and little fishing too). I netted over 200,000 bells worth of catches. But still, no Phineas. I really don’t know how I haven’t earned the fish or bug badges by now. I try to catch every random bug I see around town each day, and I catch a lot of the fish each day too. Phineas is driving me crazy.

Luna told me that Mia from SunTown was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for visiting!
