Velma’s Goodbye

Today was Velma’s last day living in town, so I made sure to say goodbye to her.

Velma: I'll think of you often! OK, get out of here quickly before I start crying...
Oops, too late.

After changing my hair back at Shampoodle, I went diving in the ocean. I caught a scallop, and that triggered Pascal to pop up and demand it from me. If he’s already underwater, why doesn’t he catch one himself? I gave him the scallop and he left me a barrel in exchange. He also had some words for me, although this wasn’t exactly his usual wise advice.

Pascal: Ever seen a whale sneeze? Maaan, you are missing out!Merka let me go to her town Bribs to sell some perfect peaches. I had 30 baskets altogether, and I sold them for a total of 810,000 bells. Thanks, Merka!

Reese: Well then...I could probably part with 432,000 bells for all of it, if that sounds OK with you? While I was there, I had a chat with my former villager Drago. He asked what was new in Forest, and I told him we have bread-eating contests now.

Drago: Huh?! Bread-eating contests?! We didn't have any of that back when I lived there!
That’s what you get for leaving.

I wanted to speak with Kidd too, but he wasn’t home and I didn’t see him around anywhere. But Merka and I went out to the island for a couple tours.

Tortimer: That's enough to net you a Gold Tortimer award and 8 medals!Once we earned enough for the gold awards, I got an axe from Lloid and starting chopping down trees.

Chopping down a tree as an island tour ends.
Timber!

After we were done, I put my peach money into the bank. My account balance topped 64.7 million bells.

Later on, Elliott came over to adopt Velma.

Me and Elliott in Velma's house.Velma confirmed that she’s moving to Forest. Wait, you’re already in Forest! Elliott’s town is also named Forest, so maybe Velma can keep her same address labels.

Velma: Chap! Did you know I'm moving to Forest?I hope you enjoy having Velma in your town, Elliott! And good luck to Velma on her new adventure! Just a bit of trivia: It’s been six months since a Forest resident has moved out of town: Tom (unexpectedly) left town back on September 13th.

Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Evan from Michael was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend, everyone!

Shamrock Day 2016

I’ve decided to keep the gold roses in my desert area, at least for now. But I have changed the color of the yellow bricks to blend in a bit better with the color of the sand.

My desert area in town.
Maybe I shouldn’t have taken the pic when it was so sunny. It almost hurts my eyes.

I had a chat with Rolf the other night, and I don’t even remember what I said to him. But whatever it was, it really set him off.

Rolf: YOU'RE CRAZY!
He’s not messing around. Look at his tail!

Saharah was in town yesterday, and she installed this modern wood wall and chessboard rug in my house.

Modern wood wall and chessboard rug.Agent S was resting on the bench, and she wanted me to keep her company. It was one of those rare moments when I could actually see her eyes through her helmet.

Agent S: Dude! Just in the nick of time! I need someone to keep me company! And today, of course, is St. Patrick’s Day. It’s known as Shamrock Day in the game though, and Isabelle could be found wearing green at the event plaza.

Isabelle: What do you think of my outfit? Since today is Shamrock Day, I just thought I'd wear something green! She gave me a shamrock hat and insisted that I wear it, so I tried it on. The animals in town will all comment on the hat when you speak to them.

Peck: Oh! That's a shamrock hat you have right there! There’s also a face-cutout standee for the holiday at the event plaza. I be a jeffrechaun, and this be me golden bowl of Lucky Charms. Oh wait, I guess a leprechaun shouldn’t sound like a pirate.

Leprechaun faceboard for Shamrock Day.I found a lost baggie on the ground and it contained some smuggled shamrocks! Well maybe not; I didn’t actually look inside the bag. But I reunited it with its owner, Molly. She thanked me by giving me her picture.

Molly: In terms of a reward, this is all I have on me right now. I hope you like my Molly's pic!I hope you all have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! This is a great day to visit the dream town of Shamrock (dream address 6E00-0026-F069) if you’re in the mood for the color green, four-leaf clovers, and pots of gold. 😛

My recent dream visitors have been Carol from Paradise, Troy from Football, Elliott from Forest, Dorian from Crowbeak, and Pru from Pipton. Thank you all for visiting! I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow as I say goodbye to Velma. See you then!

Just Add Sand

Velma approached me today and told me she was planning on moving out of town on March 18th. I thought about it for a moment, and I decided to let her go. Even though I still need some snooty PWP suggestions, I feel like my town has become stagnant with no villager movement in six months. I’ll be sure to get another snooty villager at some point in the future.

Velma: Well, what I'm trying to say is that I'm moving away from Forest on the 18th of this month.

Sparro was camping out at the campsite, and I went inside the tent to say hello. He’s not someone I would necessarily want in my town, and of course my town is still full anyway. But once Velma is gone, it will be nice to have the ability to invite a camper to move in. It’s been so long…

Sparro: Hey! Do you live in this town?Peck was talking about how gyroids appear on days after it has rained. But the way he was talking, he made it sound like they were zombies that come to life and rise up from the ground!

Peck: So the eerie creatures that were asleep under the ground open their eyes and start to...

After forcing Velma to overpay for my junk wonderful products, she seemed to regret the purchase! But then she talked herself out of feeling too bad about it.

Velma: I regret...everything. No, no. Chin up, Velma. Pull it together. This was a GOOD BUY. Got it? GOOD.
Now that she’s leaving town, she decides to start being honest.

I have finally decided to do something I’ve wanted to do for a long time: I put my sand pattern in the Egypt/desert area where my pyramid and Sphinx are. Hopefully Rolf won’t think the sand is his own personal litterbox.

Sand in my Egypt/desert part of town near the sphinx and pyramid.
Now the Sphinx will have sandy claws.

I’m not sure if I should leave the gold roses there, or if I should remove them for more sand. Any thoughts?

At any rate, here is my sand pattern if you’d like to use it. I’ve also added it to the QR Codes page.

My recent dream visitors have been Jasper from Sunville, Michelle from Harmony, and Matthew from Newleaf. Thanks for stopping by!
