The View from Down Under

Dizzy came up to me today and told me that he smelled a yellow butterfly! Wow, how good is his sniffer if he can not only smell a butterfly, but know what color it is? Impressive.

Dizzy: I smell a yellow butterfly. It's yours, isn't it?
He gave me a mint shirt for it.

Up at Able Sisters, I saw a checkerboard tee for sale. Since I wasn’t wearing any regular clothes lately (just a pattern), I decided to buy it and put it on. This is one of several shirts I sometimes wear in the GameCube game.

Mabel: The rock 'n' roll vibe of the checkerboard tee is nice, right?Pashmina asked me for some fruit tonight. She gave an interesting reason for not being able to get it herself: She said a recent bee sting had a negative impact on her tree-shaking skills. Hey, at least she tried to come up with a decent excuse.

Pashmina: Thing is, I got stung by a bee the other day... It's really had a negative impact on my tree-shakin' skills.I gave her a perfect cherry, and she gave me a polka-dot dresser in return.

Merka came over tonight and we went on a giant dragonfly tour. We had no trouble catching the 20 bugs we needed for 20 medals (plus a bonus). After that, Merka and I decided to do some glitching. We glitched onto the tracks, off the bridge, and into the void.

Glitching in the void with Merka.

We explored under the town, including a look at an unconscious Gulliver. I never bothered to wake him up.

Gulliver sleeping all alone on the beach. You can get some really nice photos from down there, because there aren’t any human characters getting in the way. Here are pictures I took of Peck, the police station, and my fountain.

Peck.Close-up view of the modern police station. The fountain in Forest.I also took this unusual picture of my gold roses and my path. The weird part is that you can’t see the ground.

My gold roses and green path...but no ground!I returned to solid ground by accident; I stumbled into my pitfall that I had buried on my private beach. After being underground for so long, coming out of a hole in the sand felt like I was being born. I guess that makes me a son of a beach.

I’ll need to remember to replace that pitfall tomorrow, so that new pitfalls won’t pop up around town. When Merka was done exploring, I dug a hole on the beach so she could be born too. Congratulations, it’s a Merka!

Merka's baby picture.Since Merka “accidentally” killed one of my gold roses, we purposely disconnected when we were done instead of saving and quitting. She invited me over to her town for a bit while she worked on her town. While there, I found a lost item on the ground. I tried to see if I could find its owner, but it wouldn’t let me.

...I bet it belongs to someone from town. I wouldn't want to mistakenly take it home, so I'll just leave it.Merka has a lot of flowers in her town; Bribs is looking good! It doesn’t get much more colorful than this.

Flowers in Bribs. As Merka werked worked, I went around catching butterflies and talking to her villagers.

Muffy: I'm Muffy! Just Muffy! No title necessary!I offered to help out by digging up many of the buried items she had around town. I found quite a few gyroids!

Gyroids piled up outside of Re-Tail.Once it was time for Merka to have lunch (she’s 14 hours ahead of me), she ended the session and I returned home. Before ending my night, I put a large glowing ornament on top of my Christmas tree. Okay, not exactly. 😛

Moon on top of a tree.Remember, Bunny Day (aka Easter) is coming up on Sunday. If you need a refresher on how it works, check out my Bunny Day Guide. And if you’re interested, Beth has submitted a nice bunny path to the QR Codes page.

Also, stay tuned to JVGS in the next few days. I’ll be posting a new Amiibo Festival blog entry on Jeff’s Gaming Blog and I’ll also be posting a new Dream Suite Adventure! I’ll be visiting a very cool and unique town! See you soon!

Belgian Flag

Molly approached me today and told me she was moving out of town on March 28th. Silly ducky, you’re not going anywhere. So I clipped her wings.

Molly: Maybe it isn't the right time to move after all. Thanks for helping me realize that.I deposited some money into my bank account, and my balance reached the 65 million bell mark.

Dizzy was still sick today, so I bought some medicine for him once again. Get well soon, big guy.

Dizzy takes his medicine.Peck told me that he recently had a chat with Shell from Shellton. I’d like to see if Shell sells seashells in Shellton. Peck said she’s a fishing expert.

Peck: So I talked to Shell from Shellton the other day!

After finally remembering to change my eye color back to blue, I made a new pattern: It’s the flag of Belgium.

My recent dream visitors have been Tommy from Tomville (no relation to Tom41 from Tomville), Siobhan from L.A., Xavier from Quigley, Troy from Football, and Lumina from Worthsee. Thanks for visiting, and I’ll see you all next time!

Velma’s Pic

Velma is gone now, and I got her goodbye letter in the mail yesterday. I was happy to find Velma’s pic attached to the letter!

Velma's goodbye letter. The quote on Velma’s pic is “Work smarter, not harder.” I believe this is my 21st villager picture (not counting special characters or duplicates).

Velma's pic: Work smarter not harder.Dreaming of Clambake

I made a dream visit to Mkay’s town of Clambake (dream address 5100-4022-5551). It’s a pretty town; I especially liked the fountain surrounded by clovers.

The fountain area in Clambake. There are a lot of trees in Clambake, so it feels like a forest. I stopped to rest (and enjoy the view) at the metal bench near the river. It’s a serene, peaceful place.

Back In Forest

And then today, it was raining in Forest. Rolf said I probably didn’t care if it was rain or broccoli falling from the sky! Yes, I care! I don’t want to clean up a bunch of broccoli all over town! And I know Rolf sure isn’t going to eat any veggies!

Rolf: Heh. I bet you don't even care whether what's falling from the sky is rain or broccoli, tiger.

Velma’s exit opened up a new spot for a former villager to appear on Main Street. And I spotted Kidd there tonight! It’s good to see him once again!

Kidd: Oh! What a surprise... Nice to see you again, Jeff!So I lost a goat in town, but gained one on Main Street. Anyway, I stopped in the Dream Suite and Luna told me that Gabriel from Notebook was my most recent dream visitor. Yesterday’s visitor was Morgan from Bakewell.

Dizzy was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine for him. He flipped as he gulped it down…and yet, I’m still not sure exactly what I’m looking at in this picture. His lower half looks a bit angular, if I’m seeing things right.
