Changing up the Splatoon Patterns

Gulliver sent me a skeleton figurine in the mail from Mexico today. If I end up making a Halloween room again this year, it would be a perfect fit there.

Aurora told me she was thinking about moving out of Forest on August 10th, but naturally, I quickly changed her mind for her.

Aurora: On the 10th of this month, I'm venturing out into the world.I made another dream visit to the Japanese Nintendo dream town (dream address 0000-0100-0017), because I wanted to make sure I saved all of the Splatoon patterns available from Wendell there.

Splatoon patterns in Nintendo of Japan's dream town.I found it interesting that Wendell admits to copying the designs from the town. He’s supposed to be an artist, but all he does is share designs made by other people in New Leaf.

Wendell: Do you w-want to take home a drawing I copied from this town? With the rest of the Splatoon patterns now in my possession (and in my pattern storage), I changed my squid faceboard to the male inkling faceboard.

Male inkling faceboard standee.I also changed my path design from the squid eye pattern to the blue and orange ink splotch design.

After updating my dream town, Luna told me that Miya from Dog Town was my most recent dream visitor.

One other note: Instead of hosting Friday Night Forest this month, I’m going to open my gate on Sunday night instead (for the fireworks festival). The time isn’t set in stone just yet, but I’m aiming for 8pm Eastern time (5pm Pacific time). If the time changes, I’ll be sure to post on Twitter, and in the blog too if it’s not a last-minute thing. Anyone on my 3DS friend roster is welcome to come.

Ice Cubes of Friendship

Last night, Kabuki told me he wanted to move out of town on August 6th. I thought about it, and ultimately, I decided to keep him around a while longer.

Kabuki: I think I might have overstayed my welcome here in the good town of Forest, you know?Tonight, Aurora was hungry for some fruit. I gave her a perfect peach, and she rewarded me with a compass. I guess she’s trying to give some direction to my life.

Aurora: Take my compass, please. But she didn’t stop there; she gave three cheers for our friendship. That’s equivalent to three ice cubes, apparently.

Aurora: Three cheers for our friendship, master! Ice cube! Ice cube! Ice cube!I also gave Aurora an item from Rolf. He had borrowed the item and forgot to return it, but Aurora didn’t even notice it had been a while. Rolf later admitted that he kept it a long time on purpose!

Rolf: She said I got it back to her really quick...? What is she talking about? I took my sweet time! On purpose!Down on the beach, I found Gulliver talking about the lively music played by mariachi bands. He is headed off to Mexico, and he’ll be sending me a gift from there tomorrow.

Gulliver: There are live mariachi bands that perform such fun, lively music it makes you dance!Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me Carson from Car City was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by!

Also, I want to say happy birthday to the mayor of Skyridge! I hope you had a great day!

First Fireworks of 2015

This morning, I bought some turnips from Joan. She was selling them for 93 bells each, and I bought 4,100 of them.

Joan: The asking price is 93 bells per turnip. What do you think, kiddo?Later on this evening, Pete handed me a letter from Nintendo. Now through August 15th, you can pick up a cucumber horse from Nintendo Zone locations. The cucumber horse was also in ACCF.

From 8/2 to 8/15, the cucumber horse is available via Nintendo Zone!I headed up to the post office to pick it up, and Phyllis handed it over.

Phyllis: Oh, all right. Here's the cucumber horse! It looks just like it did in City Folk; it’s a cucumber on a stand. Unfortunately, it cannot be ordered from the catalog.

Cucumber horse: Not for sale.Of course, tonight is the first fireworks festival of 2015! I made sure to look up at the sky to enjoy the sights.

Watching fireworks. The animals were enjoying the fireworks too. In fact, they couldn’t stop talking about them!

Agent S: I can hear these fireworks and FEEL them too! They're all, like, KA-BOOM in my heart!Molly was blown away by them.

Molly: Ooooh! Aaaah! The fireworks even blew up the moon!

The fireworks made it look like the moon was blowing up.Isabelle was at the event plaza; she gave me a star bopper for my head.

Wearing a star bopper I got from Isabelle.Crazy Redd had a stand where he was selling cookies. Each one has a ticket inside, which may be a winner or a dud. I bought one, and it was a dud.

Redd's Cookie. Too bad! You got a dud prize! But I still got a consolation prize for the losing ticket: A sparkler.

Me joyfully setting off a sparkler. After that, I stood on the bridge and watched the fireworks for a while.

Watching fireworks from my bridge. If you missed the fireworks festival tonight, don’t worry. August has five Sundays this year, so you’ll still have four more chances to see the fireworks.

Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Joshua from Rosewood was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by!
