This morning, I tracked down Joan near the town tree. She was selling turnips for 105 bells each, which is a bit high. But I still bought my usual amount (4,100 turnips).
New DLC
Later on, Pete met me outside my house with a letter from Nintendo. Now through August 29th, an eggplant cow is available at Nintendo Zone locations. Wait, a what?
So I went up to the post office and got my item from Phyllis.
I didn’t know what to expect, but I headed over to the Emporium to take a look at the eggplant cow in my catalog. Apparently, it’s an eggplant with sticks stuck into it to resemble legs. How eggciting. So it’s a lot like the cucumber horse in that respect. It can not be ordered from the catalog.
Fireworks Festival
Of course, the fireworks festival was also held tonight. I stopped behind Re-Tail to watch the fireworks as a balloon present flew by.
Agent S thought the fireworks were quite romantic. Wait, was she flirting with me?
At the event plaza, Isabelle gave me a flower bopper.

Back to Main Street
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Toadette from Mustakii was my most recent dream visitor.
And in the Happy Homes Showcase, I saw the house of someone I StreetPassed: Emily from Emily. Emily from Emily has Emily Town designs in her house, as well as some patterns that have the letter E. I’m guessing they also stand for Emily (just a hunch). I think she must like her name.

The Bug-Off competition was held today, and I gave Nat a goliath beetle that I caught last night. It took over the top spot with 87 points. Nat gave me a firefly lamp as my prize.
To improve my odds of winning the competition, I also gave Nat a horned elephant from my dock box; it scored 92 points. For beating my own record, Nat gave me another firefly lamp.
I felt good about my chances now, but Velma wasn’t giving up.
I returned after 6:00 to check out the final results in Nat’s tent. As expected, my 92-point horned elephant hung on to the top spot, and I won the competition. But Velma came through with a strong performance too, just as she predicted. She won 2nd place, while Big Top finished in 3rd place.
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Chloe from Rad City was my most recent dream visitor.
I headed to Re-Tail and sold all of the perfect peaches I had. I scored a cool 414,000 bells. Nice! Thanks, Meli!
I also stopped at her face-cutout standee to pose for a picture before heading home.
Later on, Dizzy told me he was going to move out of town on August 19th. I told him to unpack his trunk and stick around.
After making my rounds, I headed up for Main Street. I updated my dream town and checked my visitor count: 7,776. I was hoping to catch it when it said 7,777, but no such luck. Still, thank you to everyone who has visited my dream town! By the way, Lane from Pallete was my most recent dream visitor (#7,776 apparently).
When I put my peach money into my bank account, my balance topped 49 million bells.
