Adopting a Dog

Pink cherry blossom petals are now falling from the sky. (They actually started falling yesterday, but they’re still falling today too). It’s a nice touch, even if the game doesn’t have a full Cherry Blossom Festival like the one in the GameCube version.

Cherry blossom petals falling from the sky.I had a chat with Molly today, and she showed me an incriminating letter she got from Merka! Someone is trying to steal my ducky from me!

Dear Molly, Leave Forest. Come to Bribs. Destroy this message. -From MerkaMolly is so innocent that she didn’t realize what was happening. She said the letter makes her feel content! Don’t you leave me, Molly!

Molly: Just reading it makes me feel so content. I'm going to read it before bed tonight for a good night's sleep!I took a trip out to the island, where I went on three shark-battle tours. In each one, I only had to catch eight sharks in six minutes to earn 15 medals. Pretty good deal.

Tortimer: WHOA! You're a master angler! You've earned a Gold Tortimer award and 15 medals!Sprinkle asked me for some new furniture, so I gave her a customized astro clock. In return, she gave me a toilet. Thanks a lot.

Sprinkle: It's a toilet! Thanks so much!Even though I caught Merka red-handed earlier, she made it up to me. I like dog villagers a lot, but I rarely seem to get them in any of my towns (although I did recently get Bea in my GameCube town). I have not had any dogs in my New Leaf town though; Daisy will be the first.

Daisy: It must be fate... Well, I accept your invitation to move in. I'll see you in Forest in a day or two!Update: Just wanted to mention two things. My recent dream visitors were Jecka from Longcand (yesterday) and Amy from Orlanda (today). Also, just wanted to remind the people on my friend roster that Friday Night Forest is this Friday at 10pm Eastern time. If you’re on my roster, feel free to drop by!

Merka’s Petition

Bangle was camping out at the campsite today. I almost considered inviting her to move in, but I decided against it.

Bangle: Heya! Look, I know it's kinda sudden, but I've decided to set up camp here.Outside, I noticed some flowers blooming on my bush. There was also a bat peacock butterfly flying by in the background.

Flowers blooming on my bush.Merka needed to collect signatures for a petition, so she came over to ask my villagers to join her cause.

Merka asking Drago to sign her petition. It was a pretty night in town, with the moon, pink trees, and clear sky.

A clear night in Forest.Merka had trouble finding a sixth villager to sign the petition, but I went duck hunting and found Molly. She was hiding in the art gallery at the museum.

Merka speaking to Molly in the art gallery. After that, Merka opened her gate so that I could sell my perfect peaches. I had nine full baskets, and I scored 243,000 bells for them all.

Reese: Well then...I could probably part with 243,000 bells for all of it, if that sounds OK with you?Merka had cherry blossom petals falling from the sky in her town. (Her town is a day ahead, due to her living in Australia).

Cherry blossom petals in Merka's town.Merka ended up getting Mac’s picture for completing the petition. Congrats! I’ll see you all next time!

Bunny Day 2015

This morning, I found Joan right outside my house. I trapped her near my rock while I went to get money out of the bank. She was selling turnips for 102 bells apiece, and I bought 3,000 of them from her.

Joan: Well now, my wee radish is back! The asking price is 102 bells today. You decide you want some, kiddo? After putting my turnips into storage, I headed over to the event plaza, where I found Zipper T. Bunny.

Zipper T. Bunny at the town tree.He started by asking me for all six types of eggs: Stone eggs, sky eggs, tree eggs, earth eggs, water eggs, and deep sea eggs. He told me to join in the fun because fun is super funny. Alrighty then…

Zipper: Come play outside with Zipper T. Bunny and have lots of fun because fun's super funny! Ha ha!I began my search for eggs and the winning tickets hidden within them.

Sweet! I got a winning ticket!Zipper must not have remembered me from last year, because he asked how I knew there were tickets inside the eggs.

Zipper: Huh? Wait--whaaat? How did you know there were winning tickets inside?! Did I tell you yet?I collected the eggs for Zipper and redeemed many prize tickets. He was getting tired of repeating the same things over and over, and I was tired of hearing those same things over and over.

Zipper: Lucky prize! Lucky prize! You heard this already! OK, now I'm done! But unlike last year, I was getting duplicate items before completing the full set. After asking around on Tumblr and ACC, it seems that it’s because I already got the whole set last year. If anyone can confirm or deny that was the reason, please leave a comment to clarify. I want my Bunny Day Guide to be as accurate as possible–the others I’ve seen have not said anything about this–so I will update mine if necessary.

My bad luck wasn’t limited to duplicate items, however. I was also falling on my face quite a bit today.

Falling on my face in front of T&T Emporium.Even though I have a complete egg set from last year still, I was hoping to obtain a second full set so that I could have a giveaway with two winners. But Zipper wasn’t cooperating. I was getting frustrated with him, so I tried to give him a fish.

Zipper: You know...this doesn't make me happy at all...
I’m not happy either. Stop giving me duplicates or I’ll superglue your zipper shut. You want to wear that suit all year round, punk?

Despite playing for over four hours, I never completed my set. I did get eight of Zipper’s pictures, though. Still, I’ll be holding a giveaway for the one egg furniture set in the near future.

In the meantime, here’s a picture of me shooting down a sky egg and a picture of me getting a face full of sand.
