A Trip to Tomville

Soon after starting up the game today, Tom messaged me and told me he was opening his gate. I haven’t visited his town in a long time, so I decided to drop by Tomville. His friends Lily and Pichi were also there. We helped him water his flowers.

Watering flowers in Tomville.Tom’s house looks a bit haunted. Have you been hearing chains rattling in the attic, Tom?

Tom's spooky looking house.I stopped to have a little chat with my friend Savannah the zebra.

Savannah: Have we wet before? And Tom dug some holes and glitched onto a house. He then fell off into one of the holes. I tried to kick some dirt in his face, but it wouldn’t let me.

Samus Tom in a hole.We had a small hammer fight, but unfortunately I didn’t have my hammer with me. I usually leave it on the ground by my town tree for dream visitors. The next time I see one for sale on the island, I should buy it to have one to keep with me (attached to a letter). Anyway, Tom has a large checkerboard of patterns, alternating with my Wii U logo (available here) and a Toon Link pattern. This was the only picture I got of all four of us today.

A group photo in Tomville.Tom’s shop was closed, so we protested by trying to break the windows with our shovels. It may sound violent, but the Nooklings have shovel-proof glass for some reason. They must not trust us! Hmmph!

Trying to break into the Emporium.Shortly after that, we got disconnected. Poor Tom had to water his flowers all over again. I didn’t return to Tomville though, because I still needed to do my normal tasks around my own town. Big Top tried to tell me he was moving out of town on October 29th, but of course I made him stay.

Big Top: A huh huh huh! Yeah, why would I move when I have great friends like you, Mr. J?I also found Saharah nearby, so I hired her and made the short walk back to my house. She put in a groovy wall and some slate flooring.

A groovy wall and slate flooring.I didn’t think it was groovy at all, so I wiped the slate clean and went back to how it already was. I went to put something in storage, and then Drago barged in. These surprise visitors always seem to strike right after Saharah leaves! Saharah must call them afterwards and say “He’s home. Now’s your chance!”

Drago drops by for an unexpected visit.I sat down until Drago left, and then I resumed my walk around town. Curlos was camping out at the campsite today. I’ve had a lot of campers lately! Unfortunately, none of them have been animals I’ve wanted to move in.

Curlos: I'm Curlos. I'm in town for a little camping trip. It's so nice around here. I love it!Over by the river behind the town tree, I found a lost item.

A lost item on the ground. So I began asking my villagers about it. It didn’t belong to Octavian, but my 8-legged friend asked me for a dragonfly. I tracked down a red dragonfly for him, and he rewarded me with a tropical tank. Even though that might sound like a fish tank of tropical fish, it’s just a tank top.

Octavian: Oh, man! That is one good-looking red dragonfly! Thanks! After asking six of my villagers, I finally found the owner of the lost book: Drago. I wonder why he would need a book called “How to Train Your Dragon.” Anyway, he rewarded me with a blue letter jacket.

Drago: Hey! This is my book! I was looking everywhere for this thing! I figured it was gone forever. After that, I went up to the Dream Suite and updated my dream town. Luna told me that Kaetia from Starfall was my most recent dream visitor.

That wrapped up my day, but I have one last picture to show you. I used the Animal Crossing Plaza on Wii U to take a look at my current New Leaf villagers.

My New Leaf villagers as seen in Animal Crossing Plaza.Have a good weekend, everyone!

Macaroni and Cheese

Today I was able to give away those three balloons I mentioned the other day. I dropped them off at Amanda’s town SkyFall. Congrats again, Amanda. I hope you enjoy the balloons!

Amanda: Thanks! :DAfter making my rounds, I went up to the Dream Suite to update my dream town. Luna told me that Brayden from Cruzan was my most recent dream visitor.

Unfortunately, I kept falling on my face. It was another bad luck day for me.

Falling on my face. But now that I’m not on the night owl ordinance any more, Katrina closes up shop at 7 p.m.! That’s crazy! Fortune-telling should be a nighttime profession!

Sign: The spirits are resting. Advising hours are: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.Octavian asked me to catch a koi for him, and I told him I would. But I was having lots of trouble finding one. I circled the river at least five or six times trying to catch one, and I nearly gave up. But then I ran into Octavian again, and he started talking about macaroni and cheese.

Octavian: Here's the secret: melt some chunks of gouda into your noodles and sauce...and go to town!He kept going on and on until he made both of us hungry!

Octavian: Then chill the leftovers. Next day, BAM! Cheesy, chewy city! Perfect! Man! Now I'm hungry...That conversation must’ve been a good luck charm somehow, because the very next fish I caught was a koi!

I caught a koi! Can't play koi with me!I gave it to Octavian and he thanked me by slipping me his sleek clock. I think I’d rather have some macaroni and cheese.

Octavian: I know it's not really enough, but please take my lovely sleek clock!

Wealthy Wednesday

This morning, Reese was buying turnips for a whopping 577 bells apiece! I sold my 3,000 turnips for a total of 1,731,000 bells! Nice!

Reese: Currently, I'm buying each turnip for 577 bells. When I put that money into my bank account, my balance topped 25 million bells.

Your current balance is 25,570,000 bells. As I made my walk around town, Aurora asked about my Gaudi’s lizard. She asked to buy it for 300 bells, and I sealed the deal.

Aurora: Oooh! Mr. J! Is that your Gaudi's lizard?Out by the river, Octavian was fishing.

Octavian: Come on, let it be a big one...After I worked a shift at the Roost, I spoke with him again. He asked me for an orange, so I gave him a perfect one. He loved it, and he rewarded me with a tatami bed.

Octavian: Oooo, snaps! I'm gonna dig right in!My turnip prices dropped to 191 in the afternoon, but that’s still a pretty good price. I told Meli about it, and she came over to sell her turnips.

Meli visits Re-Tail.After I ended the session, I went up to the Dream Suite. Luna told me that Nerina from Gardenia was my most recent dream visitor. I took a preliminary visit to a dream town that I plan on featuring in a Dream Suite Adventure. So look for that sometime soon, perhaps over the weekend.

After that, I went by the Emporium…to find that it was already closed. This is the bad thing about not having a night owl town any more: Stores close waaaaay too early for me. It’s so inconvenient.
