Read 100 Books a Year

Last night, Kidd asked me for a pear. I gave him a perfect pear I got from Tiffiny and he gave me his picture again. This means Kidd’s pic will be included in a future giveaway of my duplicate villager pics.

Kidd: For finding me that exquisite perfect pear...take my Kidd's pic!I then took a new Dream Suite Adventure to the town of Izumi. It’s a pretty town; I especially like the church and cafe in Mayor Spazzie’s house. Be sure to go check it out!

A flower clock in Izumi. This morning, Joan was selling turnips for 94 bells apiece. I bought my usual 1,200 of them.

Joan: So 1,200 turnips comes out to be... 112,800 bells altogether. Do you wanna buy them?Agent S told me she was going to move out of Forest on the 27th. Over my dead body!

Agent S: And I can do that by moving away! Yeah, by leaving Forest, I can make it more famous!I had a gem rock again today, in the same spot as yesterday’s! All these gems are piling up as I’m getting them quicker than I can sell them to villagers at Re-Tail.

Ore from today's gem rock.Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me Henry from Kyletown was my most recent dream visitor. And the Emporium didn’t have any gorgeous furniture I needed today. But Tia asked me to collect signatures for a petition “Read 100 Books a Year.” Ash let me stop over at her town to get them. Merry, who once lived in my ACCF town long ago, was the first to sign.

Merry: I seriously feel like I've known you forever! Maybe we met in another life! Hahahaha!I also got the signature of Pekoe the fossil bear cub.

Pekoe: There. How's that?Do these animals understand what they’re signing up for? More importantly, do they even know how to read?

Olaf, Blaire, Flo, and Marina also joined the cause.

Petition signatures: Merry, Olaf, Blaire, Flo, Pekoe, Marina. Thanks, Ash! I returned to Forest…and I almost forgot about returning the petition to Tia! Oops! Fortunately, I remembered just before I clicked “save and quit.” I tracked down Tia pretty quickly and gave her the signatures. She thanked me by giving me a fancy doll. Are you kidding me?

Tia: It's a fancy doll. That's my way of saying thanks!I took a look at it, and it didn’t look familiar. I don’t think I’ve seen it before.

The fancy doll.I know it’s probably too soon to get her picture, but I still would have liked something a bit more cool. Oh well. That’s all for tonight, but I’ll see you all next time.

Breaking Even

Late last night, Jessica came over to drop off the clothes she borrowed for Gracie’s fashion check. That was her fourth passed fashion check, so she’ll be getting the Emporium soon. So congratulations to Jessica! I didn’t keep the gate open long since it was so late, but she did stop to wish on a shooting star.

Me and Jessica wishing on a shooting star. When I started the game up today, I had a whole lot of mail in the mailbox. Wishy sent me this Mama polar bear, for one thing.

A Mama polar bear that Wishy sent me.Katie sent me a sketchbook. And Gulliver sent me a Moai statue from Easter Island, which I put in my World Wonders exhibit.

My Moai statue from Easter Island.I also received all of the modern furniture I ordered from the Happy Homes Academy yesterday. When I went in the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Noah from Pixels recently visited my dream town.

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Noah from Pixels enjoyed your dream.Mayor Cherry of Harvest has submitted another pattern to the QR Codes page, this time a checkered tile for a modern theme path. Here’s what it looks like when placed on the ground:

Mayor Cherry's modern checkered tile.Up at GracieGrace, I bought the gorgeous bed for 210,000 bells. I only need two more items and I’ll have the whole set!

Gracie: It's your lucky day! I happen to be throwing a little sale today, so I can part with this for 210,000 bells. And in Club LOL, I asked K.K. for a random song and he performed K.K. Safari for me.

K.K.: Enough tuning--let's groove. This next one is for you, Jeff. It's called K.K. Safari. After that, I was basically done for the night. But I knew I had to sell my turnips before they expired. My Re-Tail was only paying 93 bells each for them, which is the exact same price I paid for them on Sunday. With none of my best friends online, I just decided to sell them for that price and break even for the week. Hopefully next week will be a better week for the stalk market.

Reese: Well then...I could probably part with 111,600 bells for all of it, if that sounds OK with you?

Return of Sumo

I got a StreetPass today, and the person had a modern furniture room. Finally! I ordered the remaining pieces I needed, plus one I didn’t need by mistake for good measure.

Modern furniture in a StreetPass home.As visitors to my dream town may know, I previously had started a modern furniture room customized with emeralds. But when the holiday sets started coming out, I decided to put my modern stuff into storage…in part because I still needed a few pieces to complete the set.

But I also came a step closer to completing another unfinished set, my golden furniture collection. Kim and I traded duplicate people, my golden woman for her golden man.

The golden man I got from Kim.I put the new piece in my basement.

The golden man and woman in my golden basement. There was an igloo over at the campsite today, and Nibbles the squirrel was inside.

Nibbles: The fresh air, the great outdoors... This place is gonna do WONDERS for my delicate complexion.Up on Main Street, Luna told me that Allison from the town of Stuffin was my most recent dream visitor. And in the Emporium, Gracie disappointed me by not having any gorgeous furniture that I needed today. When I returned to town, Teddy suggested a new public works project: a solar panel.

Teddy: Hey, mayor! You're the mayor. Fund a solar panel! It’s been a while since any of my villagers have suggested a new project. They’re probably running out of things to suggest, although I sure would like a geyser! Anyway, this is what the solar panel looks like.

Solar panel: 126,000 bells.I found Katie in town, so I asked around to see if anyone wanted her. Krystal from LaLaPark did, so I took Katie there.

Welcome to LaLaPark.I said hello to Krystal and she let me check her snowman to see if I needed its bingo number (I did).

Visiting Krystal's town LaLaPark. She has some illuminated arches and illuminated trees, surrounded by roses. It was stunning.

Krystal's beautiful illuminated arches and trees. When I returned to Forest, I saw there was a meteor shower going on. So I wished on a shooting star.

Jeff the snowman wishing on a shooting star.At 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Kim came over and the two of us kept wishing on every shooting star. It was getting a bit comical how we kept doing it over and over.

Me and Kim wishing on shooting stars. But we got disconnected twice, so Kim decided to take a break for ten minutes or so. Jessica then came over to borrow some clothes for Gracie’s fashion check. She needed ornate clothing, so I let her borrow a noble shirt, royal shorts, and a knight’s helmet.

Jessica, dressed up as a knight: I look hot.Technically the knight’s helmet isn’t ornate, but it worked for me back in September. So she returned to her town to face the wrath of Gracie. A bit later, Kim returned. We had our usual hammer fight; I clearly won the battle.

Me and Kim fighting with toy hammers.Kim also brought a bunch of pitfall seeds, so that we could try sumo! For those of you who haven’t been following my blogs and videos since the ACCF days, sumo is a game where you surround a 3×3 grid with pitfall seeds. Two or more players inside the “ring” try the push the other player(s) into the pitfalls. The last person standing wins. For a video of how it works, see ACCF – Sumo Fun.

I had not tried sumo in New Leaf, until now. So Kim and I prepared for battle.

Jeff and Kim about to sumo wrestle. We then started the match. We pushed, and spun, and pushed some more. It didn’t end well for me. Mr. Snowman got buried.

Kim defeats Jeff the snowman in a sumo match. We played a rematch, and it ended quickly with Kim somehow pushing me into another pitfall within seconds. I have a good excuse for losing twice. Actually, I don’t, but I’ll try to come up with one!

Kim wins again! At any rate, it’s good to see that sumo still works in New Leaf. Around 11:00, Kim left for the night. But she let me keep the remaining pitfall seeds (thanks Kim!) so I can battle someone else. Maybe I’ll find someone I can beat. 😛

Unfortunately, no one else came over to visit, so I closed my gate at 11:20. Gulliver was down on the beach, and his clue was easy this time. He’s headed to Easter Island, and that means I’ll be getting a moai statue tomorrow.

Gulliver: I don't think I've ever met these bunch of heads before! I'm sure I'd remember them! After checking my island gift shop, I returned home and ended my game for the night. Have a great weekend, everyone!
