Late last night, I played some New Leaf while I was lying in bed. (That’s one advantage of portable systems). Aurora suggested a flower bed as a public works project.
It actually just looks like a 3×3 square of dirt, so I think I’ll pass on that.
Anyway, Molly told me that she put up a scarecrow and she said that Tabby talks to it! For some reason, I’m not surprised by that.
And just before I was about to shut down the 3DS and go to bed, I finally saw what I’ve been looking for: a tarantula! I backed up a bit so it wouldn’t charge me as I got my net out, then I walked up to it and swung. I got it! VICTORY!!
I immediately went up to the museum to donate the tarantula. Here it is, fighting with its adversary, the scorpion.
When I started up the game today, it was pouring rain.
But for the first time in New Leaf, I didn’t care! For one thing, I have lots of flowers now, so a break from watering them is welcome. Also, now that I have a tarantula already, I don’t have to keep hoping for clear weather to catch one.
Over in Re-Tail, I saw Rolf’s drum set for sale. I’m pretty sure he bought it from Re-Tail used when Katt was selling it a while back. I decided to buy it, in the hopes that Rolf cleaned it off since Katt had it. After all, Katt plays the drums with the same paws she uses to walk in her litter box.
Since I just had my house expanded the other day, I figured it was time to put in another town project. I decided to put in a flower clock, just south of town hall–and right behind my bench. I’m trying to turn this area in the southwest corner of town into a nice park. It’s going to look really nice when it’s finished.
It was surprisingly affordable, so I paid it off on the spot. It will be done tomorrow.
I then saw Benedict; I spoke to him, and he again asked if he should really move out of town. This time, I asked him to stay…and it worked.
My friend Wendy came over to shop, and we made a quick trip to the island. We did one scavenger hunt tour, which I used to scoop up as many flowers as I could. After we returned, I plopped the flowers down around my wind turbine near my new park.
After that, I went to the Roost to work a shift and also to drink some coffee. But for some reason, it had an acidic taste and fruity scent? I don’t know what Brewster is trying to pull, but that is not coffee!
Back outside, Benedict approached me. He wanted to move out. I’m kind of neutral towards Benedict, but it’s been a while since I got a new villager, so I didn’t try to stop him.
There was a summer camper in town, so I went to see who was in the tent. It was Gigi. She said maybe we’ll be neighbors someday. Oh no, we absolutely will not!
I quickly left the tent without playing any games or talking to her any more. I then ran into Katt (oh joy), and to my surprise, she was concerned about the thought that Benedict might be moving!
Aurora asked me a few questions and then determined that I needed cotton candy.
Over by my town tree, Gracie was there again! It’s weird that I went over two months without seeing her at all, and then she shows up twice within eight days. She was expecting a “modern” look for her fashion check. I decided it was time for a shopping run.
In Able Sisters, the only “modern” item they had was a jade plaid tee.
It looked like I was out of luck for now. I returned to town, where Molly was also concerned about Benedict.
She told me to go check up on him. Now I feel kind of bad about not stopping him.
I did track him down and talk to him, but he didn’t mention moving again. If he does, I think I’ll tell him to stay after all.
I tried beating her with my toy hammer, but it wouldn’t let me! So unfair!
I also spotted Phineas walking around, so I went up to him to see what new badge I was getting! He gave me the Backyard Gardener badge, apparently because I have lots of flowers.
I returned to my house, and I was playing my harp upstairs when I got interrupted by Aurora!
She just stopped in to say hello. That was nice of her.
Later on, I asked Wendy if I could go to her town to shop for “modern” clothing. Her Able Sisters didn’t have anything modern, but she let me borrow a blue zap suit to try out. So we headed back to Forest, where Gracie shot me down once again. These fashion checks are seriously annoying, and I’m really not happy about the fact that they’re required to get the final T&T store upgrade. I think it’s going to be a long time before I get that last store.
After that, I made a quick solo trip to the island. I’ve been looking for a silver axe, and I’ve been trying to find the hide-and-seek tour again. My island had neither, so I had nothing left to do but trick Leila. Actually it was an accident; I thought I had something worthless to sell her, but I didn’t.
See you tomorrow!
I decided to wear it for a little while. Before long, Rory came up to me, wanting to get to my house right away! He wanted to come in for a quick visit.
Once we got there, he asked if my sofa can fit two. Uhh, yeah…
And he wanted to talk about “technique.”
And then he sneezed… I think…
Next, he started talking about muscles that you can’t see… At this point, I was feeling a bit uncomfortable and just wanted him out of my house.
Thankfully, he did leave after that. So I went to work a shift at the cafe. I got all of the customers’ orders perfect today, and Brewster gave me a fourth gyroid, the mega brewstoid. Here it is, on the far left:
Crazy Redd was in town today, so I went into his tent to see what he had for sale. I could tell the mystic statue he had was a fake, because it’s one I had bought before. As for the other three items, I ultimately decided on this ancient statue. This item was called a spaceman in City Folk.
As I continued my walk, I stopped to take a picture of the police station as seen from across the river. As you can see, it was a nice, clear night in Forest.
And later on, I had earned enough money to pay off my latest house expansion. This time, I decided to add a room to the left; it will be done tomorrow.
