Jeff's New Leaf Blog

I played for the first time in three weeks today (shame on me 😮), and I again had to make a trip to Shampoodle to get rid of my bedhead. When I started talking to my villagers, several of them made sarcastic comments about me finally leaving my house. 😛

I made sure to catch up with Lolly, and she informed me that Rolf was planning on moving out of town!

That is completely unacceptable! Unfortunately, I couldn’t get Rolf to ping me so I could change his mind. But I will try again tonight, and tomorrow if I have to. I’ll update this entry if I’m successful.

Update: After the fireworks festival ended, I saved/quit and re-started up the game. Rolf pinged me, and I was able to save him. That’s a relief. 🙂

The fireworks festival was underway tonight (it’s the 3rd of five this month), and Isabelle gave me a flower bopper to wear on my head. I stopped at several spots around town to enjoy the show.

I also bought several of Redd’s cookies from his stand. I won a love tester, a boxed figurine, two Ten Billion Barrels, and an Ultra Hand.

Vivian told me I had a new reputation (or label): She said I was a world traveler!

That is beyond puzzling to me, because I haven’t visited anybody in New Leaf in ages! I’m pretty sure it’s been at least a year, and maybe longer! I have no idea how this could have become my new label.

I updated my dream for the first time in ages. According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Keagon from New York and Aaryan from London. Thanks for stopping by!

It’s been over two weeks since I’ve played New Leaf, so I had a bad case of bedhead tonight. Oops.

Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve ever had bedhead in this game…at least with my main character. Booker has had it before, but not Jeff. Shampoodle was already closed for the night, so I was stuck with the messy hair.

At Re-Tail, I saw that Boots is selling his Manneken Pis. I guess he needed to liquidate his assets.

My villagers mentioned not seeing me for a while, and they caught me up on what’s been going on in the meantime.

Aurora asked me to bury a time capsule for her. That’s a request I haven’t had lately! So I buried it near the northwest corner of town, next to Resetti’s manhole.

Saharah’s RV was parked at the campground, and I don’t remember seeing it before. At least, I don’t seem to have posted any pics of her RV to the blog, so I thought I’d post one now. I like the Aquarius urn and tile screen. And if you’re wondering, the items in the top-right corner are two different looms.

Molly mentioned moving on the 5th of the upcoming month, but I made my main mallard modify her master plan.

I played on July 1st and saw this weather notice on the message board.

Notice anything wrong with that? It says “it’ll get start getting hot…” 😛 So I used that screenshot in a new video called Animal Crossing Typos & Mistakes #2. It’s not just about New Leaf, because it also has clips from other games (including several from New Horizons). Check it out!

Today, Vivian told me that she’s looking for a frog. Maybe she should check out my frog race in New Horizons. 😉

Lolly informed me that she was planning on moving out of town on July 18th. But obviously, she’s not allowed to leave. 😛 She did tell me about one of her favorite books, though: Making Gyroids Work for You.

With no special events coming up soon, Rolf plans to build his stamina for the next event…on Toy Day! 😛

But that may not mean what you think; “on Toy Day” is just his catchphrase, which I gave him last December. I wish he would change it already.

Gulliver was down on the beach, talking about visiting the Emerald Isle. That hint was pretty obvious, so I didn’t need to consult my Gulliver Guide. He’s headed to Ireland!

While I was on the beach, I caught two goliath beetles. Moments later, I also caught a scorpion…and then the frog I needed for Vivian.

The problem is that Hornsby and Vivian just had a fight, so they were both feeling down.

I had to wait out their bad moods, and then I gave Vivian the frog. She thanked me for the “fish.”

She rewarded me with a blue diamond shirt.

When I spoke to Lolly again, she informed me that I’m now considered a bell-pincher again. I guess I’ll need to waste some money on furniture I don’t need next time. 😛
