Inkwell Arrives

I received Vivian’s goodbye letter in the mail yesterday. She attached her picture to the letter. While I have received her picture before, it was actually from April Fools’ Day and I never really knew if I truly “earned” it or not. But now, I know for sure that I have indeed earned it.

I found a lost item on the ground directly behind the police station. It turned out to be Big Top’s item, although it was just an empty bag!

Big Top: But it's just an empty bag. I gotta think of something to put inside it.

An empty bag is not a lost item, it’s litter. But still, he gave me a happi tee for returning the bag.

I found Inkwell’s house plot in the eastern part of town, near the campsite. It was almost exactly the same spot where Vivian lived, but apparently up two spaces.

Inkwell's house plot.

Today, Big Top asked me to catch a cherry salmon for him. I reluctantly agreed to help, and I was just hoping it wouldn’t take me half the day to find one. But I was pleasantly surprised to catch a cherry salmon on my very first attempt!

I caught a cherry salmon! Now for a cherry-salmon pie!

I took it back to Big Top, and he gave me a flashy suit for helping out.

Inkwell has moved in, so I went to his house to say hello. Welcome to Forest, Inkwell!

Inkwell: Bro! Remember me? It's Inkwell!

We may not have many turf wars here in Forest, but I’m sure he’ll feel right at home here, lickety-splat.

After putting some money into the bank, my account balance reached 118 million bells.

Your current balance is 118,000,000 bells.

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Mario ID from Nook Inc and Rishi from Threed. Thanks for stopping by, and have a good weekend!

Vivian’s Last Day

Jack sent me a letter telling me to get ready for Halloween, and he attached a monster mask to the letter. I wouldn’t normally wear the monster mask, but I had a bad case of bedhead. 😛 And Shampoodle was already closed for the day–they close at the absurdly early time of 8 p.m.!

Jeff puts on a monster mask in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Lolly and Claudia both told me I’m a world traveler again. I don’t know why my label keeps changing back and forth, but I’ll gladly take this over being called a bell pincher. 😛

Rolf asked me to bury a time capsule for him, and of course I agreed to help out.

Rolf: Hey, thanks! Now we just sit back and let it sleep through the ages... or until I get bored! GAHAHA!

Elvis the lion was at the campsite. I’m not trying to be cruel, but he’s kinda ugly. 😛 Then again, I don’t really like any of the lions in the series.

Elvis: I didn't do any research or anything before choosing a place to camp. I think I lucked out with this town!

I decided it was finally time to change things up in Forest. I scanned in a Splatoon amiibo, and summoned Inkwell to the campground. I told him to move into town.

Inkwell: Great! So who do you want me to muscle out of town? I mean...who do you want me to talk to?

I told him to “talk to” Vivian about moving out.

Inkwell: Boosh! Everything went well! I talked to Vivian, and she's moving out anyway.

I’ve mentioned this when discussing my plans before, but it’s nothing personal against Vivian. I like her, and I wouldn’t mind keeping her around longer. But the problem is that if I kicked Claudia out instead, I would be raising the number of amiibo villagers in town…and they never ask to move out on their own.

But Vivian has had a lengthy (3 years, 10 months) stay in Forest…so it’s not like I’m rushing her out of town. 😛 And when Inkwell moves in, that will make Claudia eligible to leave town as well. So this should set the gears in motion for some villager movement, after a whopping 19 months of no villager movement at all.

Of course, I went in to say goodbye to her. Best of luck, Vivian!

Vivian: I'm going to be moving out of this town. It's just time for me to move on.

According to Luna, my most recent dream visitor was Morrigan from Courtlyn. Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be back with another entry in a couple days as I welcome Inkwell to town.

Too Full for Fries

Yesterday, Lolly asked me to dig up the time capsule she had me bury earlier this month.

Lolly: Do you think you could dig up that time capsule I had you bury before?

After catching a flea that was on her, I dug up the time capsule and took it back to Lolly. She opened it up and found a twinkle tee inside. That twinkle tee was my reward for digging up the time capsule.

Lolly: Oh, right! Let me thank you with a gift. Please accept my twinkle tee!

And even after giving me a shirt as a reward, she had the nerve to call me a bell pincher. So I guess my “world traveler” reputation didn’t last very long; I’m back to being a bell pincher again. 😛

Frita the French fry sheep was camping at the campsite, but I was too full for fries. I mean, Forest was too full for another villager. 😉 🍟

Frita: I'm Frita! And you're... Jeff? Nice to meet you!

Agent S asked me for some furniture that could replace a fish, so I gave her the flea that was on Lolly. 😛 Agent S said she would give it a good home, in a nut!

Agent S: All right, I'll be sure to give this a good home, in a nut.
At least it will have food and shell-ter.

She rewarded me with a stripe dresser.

Today, Big Top informed me that he was going to move out of town on October 9th. However, I made him change his mind.

Near the geyser, I found someone’s lost mitten.

I picked up a lost item!

It got me thinking about why New Horizons doesn’t have all of the PWPs from New Leaf. The geyser, the illuminated projects, and the topiaries are just a few of the missing PWPs. Considering that the ability to design your island is a big focus of the game, it seems odd that so many PWPs from New Leaf still aren’t in New Horizons.

Anyway, I asked around about the lost item. I eventually found out that it belonged to Rolf.

Rolf: I'm so happy you found the glove I misplaced! That's such a relief!

He gave me an anatomical model to thank me.

According to Luna, my most recent dream visitor was Obby from Forest. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
