As I went in Boots’ house to check out his two lamp on Sunday, he happened to ask me for furniture again. As you might’ve guessed, I already had a customized one lamp in my pockets ready for him.
Think about placement? Who do you think you’re fooling? We both know exactly where that lamp is going.
Monday, Boots offered to trade his office chair for my zero lamp! That’s the last number I he needed!
The countdown is now complete!
Big Top asked me to bury a time capsule for him. I buried it in the northwest corner of town (behind Re-Tail), and I’ll be sure not to open it this time. π
Of course, yesterday was Halloween. I played a little bit to collect a few pumpkin heads I didn’t seem to have in storage any more.
I also loaded up my Booker character, since his mailbox was about to burst. He headed over to Re-Tail to sell some gifts from Mom, and he got harassed by a bunch of pumpkin-headed villagers. He was forced to talk to Molly…for the first time. π
As I switched back to Jeff, I took this screenshot of a purple pumpkin-headed villager on the title screen. π
Now that I wasn’t carrying any number lamps around, Boots asked me for my clothes instead. So I sold him my lightning tee.
I’ve been giving away a bunch of my extra villager pictures lately. The only ones I have left are Agent S, Big Top, Daisy, Molly, and Rolf. Let me know if you’d like any of them.
November started today, and that means that it’s mushroom season now! I found a rare mushroom (worth 16,000 bells), and I also found a mush table disguised as a mushroom.
At the campground, Harvey was feeding the birds. He gave me another set of beans, even though I already have one set. If you want it, let me know!
My recent dream visitors have been Brandon from Coolvill, Annie from Hylia, and Claudia from FairyOak. Thank you all for stopping by!
On Sunday, Kira from Zodell let me visit her town to check out Ursala’s RV. Ursala has been in my GameCube town for over a decade, but I don’t think I had seen her in New Leaf yet. She was one of the villagers added in the Welcome Amiibo update, via Amiibo Cards. Ursala seems to run a flower shop out of her RV!
Kira had some free items available by her gate, and I took a Splatoon spawn point. Even though Kira didn’t ask for anything in return, I gave her a basket of perfect peaches.
Rolf recently told me that he’s been feeling down lately, and not himself.
I sure do.
Boots asked me to return something that Molly left at his house. I made the delivery, and Molly said that she had already bought another one. But the curious part is that the item was a peach. Why would you buy one when there are peach trees all over town??
She let me have the peach as my reward. Exciting. Anyway, I returned to Boots to tell him I made the delivery. He thanked me, and then he noticed the three lamp in my pockets! He offered me 750 bells for it, and I agreed. But he then gave me 900 bells. π I later checked out the lamp inside his house.
The next time I visited Molly’s house, she told me she was just about to write a poem about a blowtorch! Seems a bit odd, Molly, but whatever lights your fire for writing.
Vivian asked me for a peach on Tuesday. Luckily for her, the first peach tree I spotted was a perfect peach tree. So I gave her a perfect peach, and she loved it! She rewarded me with a king.
As I was walking near Booker’s house, I heard someone fall into a pitfall. I went over to the face-cutout standee, and there I saw Rolf in a hole behind the gravestone. R.I.P. Rolf. π
I bet now you’re *really* feeling down.
I made a dream visit to the spooky town of Hula Key. It seemed like the perfect town to visit around Halloween. It has some great patterns, lots of flowers and PWPs, some creepy rooms to visit, a surprisingly lighthearted pet shop, a great arcade, and more. There’s even a game within a game, where you try to find all five bodies scattered outside.
Actually, I’ve been visiting a lot of dream towns lately…I caught up on my suggested dreams, and I visited a bunch of random ones as well. So if you’ve seen a Jeff from Forest who visited your dream recently…that was me.
If you’re wondering why I’ve suddenly picked up the pace, my reasoning may sound strange to you. It’s because Miiverse is closing in early November. As far as I know, that is the only way to take a proper screenshot of the bottom 3DS screen (without an expensive 3DS capture device), and I’ve been saving screenshots of my badge collection for a while now (for a future GIF).
So I made it a goal to visit 500 dream towns before then. And now, I’ve done it. Phineas showed up in my town today to give me the Mr. Sandman badge! π
Here is the updated look at my badges.
While I’m hoping to get one or two more before Miiverse ends, it’s probably not very likely. Regardless, I’ll probably post that GIF in a blog entry shortly after we say goodbye to Miiverse.
One other note: Boots recently took the bait and bought my two lamp from me. I don’t have a picture of it inside his house yet, but I’ll try to get that for next time.
My recent dream visitors have been Shomari from D.Valley, Kathryn from Roseland, Cath from Calgary, and Abriana from Berwick. Boots also mentioned Lizzy from Quetzyl and Ploum from Froumot. Thank you all for visiting!
Every time I see Boots around town, I try to talk to him over and over. I’m still trying to get his picture.
Still no luck with that, but he did offer to trade me a ninja shirt for my five lamp.
Once I caught him inside his house, I took a picture of his new lamp.
On Sunday, I found three dig spots all in one area, next to Agent S’s house. All three of them were fossils!
After coming out of Re-Tail, I noticed a pretty red sky at sunset. So I took a few pictures of it from around town.
In case you’re wondering, I caught that petaltail dragonfly just after taking this picture.
On Monday, Merka let me visit her town Muffy, which is very neat and clean. Not messy at all.
She let me pull her weeds…but unfortunately, she only had three of them because she has enacted the “beautiful town” ordinance. But we also had a good net fight.
I spoke with several of her villagers, and we hung out for a bit. The visit wasn’t long, but it was fun. It was good to see Merka again, it had been quite a while!
Today in Forest, Boots saw the four lamp in my pockets and wanted it. He gave me a stove for it.
I saved and quit my game, started it back up, and repeated that process a few times until Boots was in his house. I was then able to see his four lamp. I’m trying for a complete countdown to zero; I’ll post a collage of all ten pics if/when I complete my mission. π
While I don’t plan on fully decorating my town for Halloween, I did make a few changes tonight. I changed my path to orange bricks, put up my gravestone design on the face-cutout standee, and put my jack-o’-lantern face on my custom-design sign.
If you’re interested, my gravestone and jack-o’-lantern faces (among other designs) are available on the Halloween QR Codes page.
I also went in my house for some minor decorating. It’s nothing fancy, but I put out my monster masks, some pumpkin heads, and a few other scary things. I may or may not add some more things. Depends on how lazy busy I am. π
As I was putting things into storage, Molly came over for an unexpected visit. She wasn’t trick-or-treating, but she did have a treat for me. A lemon. Oh, yummy.
