Green Grass & Rain

The snow has all melted in Forest, and grass is green once again. I also changed my path back to the green bricks. But it was raining today, and Freckles wasn’t happy about that.

Freckles: I was gonna visit the city, but I'm afraid I'll slip in a puddle or whatever. When I visited Benedict, I saw that he was still feeling sick. So I bought some medicine for him once again.

Benedict flips upside-down as he takes some medicine.Savannah was locked out of her house again, so I went fishing to try to find her key. Along the way, Chow invited me over for drinks!

Chow: Boss! Just who I wanted to see! I'm having some folks over for drinks soon. Wanna join us?Sorry, but I had work to do. Fishing for a key. And after a few minutes, I found what I was looking for.

I caught a key! (animated GIF)When I took it back to Savannah, she thanked me and gave me a cabana chair.

Savannah: Here, it's not much, but this cabana chair should show you how much I appreciate your help! She also went inside her house, which at least makes me feel like I wasn’t fishing for nothing. Sometimes you’ll fetch a villager’s key and they’ll stay outside anyway.

Opal asked me for some retro furniture, and I was able to track down a retro TV for her. She thanked me and rewarded me with 720 bells.

Wearing Midna’s Mask

I had a letter in the mail from “TNPS” today, and I wasn’t sure what that meant. But then I saw that it was my Midna’s mask from Nook’s Point Tracking System. So I put on my new mask. It doesn’t exactly match my snow shirt, but it’ll have to do for now.

Me wearing Midna's mask outside of my house in ACCF.I saw a notice on the bulletin board that reminded me that Festivale is coming up on Monday (February 27th). It’s not my favorite event, but good luck to you if you choose to participate!

The three furniture items at Nook ‘n’ Go today were a storage case, a white golf bag, and a tiki torch. The tiki torch always reminds me of Survivor… and when I realized the other two items were basically a “work” item and a “play” item, this came to mind.

Outwork, outplay, outlast. (A storage case, white golf bag, and tiki torch). After going up the ramp, I noticed Opal down below. I decided to give her a shower sprinkle with my watering can.

Animated GIF of me sprinkling water on Opal.I found a house where Twiggy previously lived, so I went in to investigate. Inside, I found Freckles the duck. She just arrived in town, and she hasn’t finished unpacking yet. I also have her in my secondary GameCube town of Ohio.

Freckles: Oh! Hiya! I'm Freckles! When I visited Benedict, I saw that he was sick with a cold. So I gave him some medicine. He needs to be healthy before I cook him um, because being sick is no fun.

Benedict flips as he takes some medicine. After circling around town, I had a chat with Savannah. She asked me for some plantlike furniture. But Nook didn’t have any, Crazy Redd didn’t have any, the recycle bin didn’t have any, and I didn’t have any in my house.

My last resort was to try shaking trees. But the very first tree I shook had something else in it: Bees. And because my reflexes are practically plantlike, the bees got me. 😛 Although, this mask does hide my bad eye.

I got stung by a bee! Ow! Ow ow ow!When I ran into Opal again, she wasn’t being very supportive. But then again, I did dump water on her earlier, so I guess her rudeness was understandable.

Opal: So, why don't you go take care of YOUR face?I continued shaking trees, but I found more bees (four) than furniture items (two). And neither of those items were plantlike; they were a blue bookcase and a wooden box. Oh well, I guess I can’t help Savannah out this time. Hopefully there will be more opportunities in the future.

The snow will be gone by tomorrow morning, so enjoy the beginning of spring! 🙂

Febru-Errands

When I started up the game tonight, I received Bluebear’s goodbye letter in the mail. She called me a great BFF, which certainly was not true.

Dear Jeff, Wah, Jeff! Today is finally the day I leave Forest forever. Thanks for being such a great BFF! Take care! -Yours, BluebearAs I walked along the river near the top of the waterfall, Benedict told me he lost his key. Ugh. He said he would look around here, and asked me to look near the water. But “here” is near the water.

Benedict: I'll look around here and in the grass, so could you please look near the water?I wasn’t initially planning on fishing for his key. But when Coco asked me to catch a freshwater goby for her, I figured I could work on two favors at once. I caught the key first, so I returned it to Benedict, and he rewarded me with a mega drilloid.

After a few more minutes of fishing, I caught the freshwater goby I was hoping for. I took it to Coco, and she thanked me by giving me a chainlink fence.

Coco: Sweet-J... That is SO sweet. You caught me one!
Too bad the fish wasn’t a sweetfish. That would’ve been even sweeter!

Opal asked me to make a delivery to Chow, so I agreed to this errand as well. Chow gladly accepted the gift, and he said Opal has the memory of an elephant.

Chow: A writing chair? That takes me back. Opal's got a memory like an elephant.
She *is* an elephant.

When I told Opal the delivery was complete, she gave me a cloud flooring for my trouble.

I ran into Tank, and he wanted to do a gift exchange. He wanted a dace I had in my pockets, and in return, he offered me some bamboo flooring. That’s not a bad trade, so I agreed to the deal. Seems like it’s all wallpaper and flooring I’m getting today.

At Nook ‘n’ Go, I did something I almost never do: I ordered an item from Nook’s Point Tracking System (PTS). Since there’s a new Zelda game coming out in just over two weeks, I decided to order a Zelda item. I already have Majora’s Mask, so I spent 6,500 points to order Midna’s mask. I should receive it in the mail next time.
