Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in!

Day 34

I headed out to Main Street today to find a new client. I spotted Deirdre the deer; she wanted a house where she could see the signs of autumn all year long. I picked out a spot in the woods near a lake for her. When choosing a location, you can click on it multiple times to change the season. (Thanks for the tip, Ashley). Naturally, I made sure it was autumn for Deirdre's house. A mushroom roof, exterior, and door have been unlocked, so I used them, along with a rounded roof (the small thatched house) to give it a mushroom look. I'm a fun guy, after all.

I added in some piles of leaves and some mush furniture for the yard. Some of the mush items (especially the table) look like giant mushrooms, so they fit in perfectly.

Indoors, the autumn wall and floor were no-brainers. This is one of my favorite wall/carpet combos in Animal Crossing. I used all of the mush furniture items in here, so I'm hoping that Deirdre will fall in love with her house.

When I was done, Deirdre taught me the shyness emotion. The code to visit her house is 0606-7725-095.

One other note. I've noticed you can sit on the bench near the fountain and watch the credits again whenever you'd like. It's just like sitting at the town tree in Animal Crossing: New Leaf...just not as interesting since it doesn't show your town's history.

Day 35

Today, I met up with Vic on Main Street, and he wanted his house to be a pirate's refuge. That sounded a lot like Rod's house that I've already designed. I gave Vic an island home much like Rod's, although Vic's island has grass instead of sand.

I was curious to see if any additional pirate-themed items have been unlocked. But unfortunately, most of the new additions were just clothing items like the scale-armor suit and viking helmet. There was one new piece of wall furniture, though: a life preserver. I put it on the wall and I used pretty much the same pirate-themed items I used for Rod's house. Arrrr, this be lookin' familiar.

Honestly, it is a bit disappointing that the themes are repeating already and there were no significant additions for Vic's house. But I guess it's to be expected when the game has over 300 characters in it. Some of them are bound to have similar themes.

Vic taught me the sadness emotion before I uploaded his house to the Happy Home Network. The code to board his pirate ship is 0708-7721-085.

Thanks for visiting!
