Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in!

Day 48

Out on Main Street today, I ran into Bunnie the bunny. She wanted a house where she could celebrate her birthday every day. Wouldn't having a birthday every day make her age quickly? But I agreed to help her build that dream home of hers.

Since Bunnie's birthday is May 9th (yes, I did my homework), I set the season to springtime. Bunnie insisted on a birthday sign outdoors, which is no big surprise. But one of the unlocked items is a surprise: A decorated tree. This is, for all intents and purposes, a Christmas tree. I'm not used to seeing Christmas lights on trees in springtime, but it is pretty cool to have it unlocked for future designs. Bunnie is certainly going to have a festive yard!

Indoors, I used the rest of the new birthday items, along with a couple of lovely chairs and a CD player to play K.K. Birthday. For the gift piles, I used one with the default style (colorful) and one as a pastel customization. A third option (Toy Day) is available, but I didn't use that one since it's more fitting for Christmas. To finish off the interior, I hung up some garland around the room. Happy unbirthday, Bunnie!

When I was done, Bunnie taught me the outrage emotion. Don't be mad at me! The project code to celebrate a birthday with Bunnie is 0999-7791-002.

Day 49

Today, I decided to help out Melba. She wanted a house that looks like a scene from a fairy tale. I chose a winter scene, just because it's an option I never seem to use. For the building style, I chose a fortress and I gave it the fairy-tale exterior, roof, and door. The tulip topiary was a requirement from Melba; I put it back by the waterfall so that it doesn't dry out. I didn't have much room to work with here, though.

No new wallpaper or carpeting was unlocked, so I wasn't sure what to use. Ultimately, I went with a forest wall and a daisy meadow floor. I used the newly-unlocked fairy-tale furniture/PWPs, as well as the nature standees. I put several of the smaller new items (lollipop, donut box, balloon-dog lamp) on a table. I thought about making a Snow White and Seven Dwarves theme (like the one in the New Leaf dream town of JOY), but I don't have the gnomes unlocked yet. Melba will have to deal with it.

When I was done, Melba taught me an odd emotion: a boy's pose. Why is a girl teaching me this?

The project code for Melba's house is 0102-7791-062.

I didn't visit any more of your posted project codes this time, but I'll be sure to get to some of those next time. If you post any in the comments, please only post a few of your best projects. If you post a long list of codes, I'll probably only visit the first few. And remember, I'm not able to feature every design in the blog; only a few of my favorites will be shown. But thank you for the suggestions!

Thanks for visiting the blog; I'll be back with more next time!
