Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! Or read my review.

Day 67

Dora the mouse was out on Main Street today, so I said hello. She said that she wanted to grow her own herbs in a home garden.

I picked out a large field in the mountains for her. There is a pond at the edge of her property, so that should make watering her herbs a bit easier.

Dora insisted on a stone well and a handcart outdoors. Quite a few items were unlocked for this project, including a tin watering can, six types of mushrooms, two different scarecrows, wheat fields, wheat bundles, and all five types of perfect fruit trees. Even the Pikmin were unlocked--but I don't think they would taste very good in a salad. I used a dozen planters for Dora's herbs, while also including a log bench to sit on.

Inside, I found that the rice-paddy wall and field floor were unlocked; I used them both. Since I felt the main theme of the house was met with the outdoor section, I just had a little fun in here. I put in some wheat fields, some mushrooms, and both of the scarecrows.

I also had a little fun playing around with the camera (and by making Dora fly).

Day 68

Next up was Rodney the hamster, who wanted a production studio in his home so that he could make some movies and TV shows. The only two pieces of furniture unlocked were the video camera and TV with VCR. I decided to put in some tree stumps and some fire...this is where they film Survivor!

Indoors, I decided to make a game show studio. Unfortunately, I haven't unlocked the game show stands yet, so I used regular podiums. But Rodney doesn't look very excited at his opportunity to win fabulous cash and prizes!

The project code to visit Rodney's house is 0106-7721-758.

See you next time!
