Acorn Festival Reward: Mush Set

On Tuesday, Blathers had some new dialogue for me. He told me that he tried doing some fieldwork to find fossils, but he soon discovered how heavy shovels can be.

Blathers: I remembered how heavy a shovel is! Hoo, yes! Digging is quite exhausting...So he concluded that manual labor is not for him.

Blathers: 'Twas a sad reminder that I am simply not made for manual labor...Puddles was finally over her cold. She thanked me for all the medicine by giving me a regal carpet.

Puddles: Oh, J-rock! Thanks to your medicine, I feel, like, totally AMAZING now!On Thursday, Big Top asked me if my best friend was a banana bread.

Big Top: Darling, is your best friend a big banana bread?I thought that was an unusual question. Besides, how did he know?! 😛 I answered “absolutely” and he said the banana bread would never let me down like a person would.

Big Top: R-really? Well, I guess it would never let you down like a person would.
Amen to that.

Hopper again asked me if I was from the countryside. To see what he’d say, I picked the “Wooo-haaa!” option (meaning yes). He responded that I’m probably getting money from a farm. Yeah, in Stardew Valley. So because of that, he said I probably didn’t need a Nile shirt. So he didn’t give it to me.

Hopper: Well, you're probably still getting money from a farm or something.Rhonda showed me a letter she received from someone calling themselves “All Paws.” It was about taking over the world. 😮

Hope you know, If I had opposable thumbs, I could take over the world! Muahahahahaha!Hopper told me to go wild during the Acorn Festival. He even said to unleash my mad acorn lust. 😮

Hopper: Unleash your mad acorn lust, you wild beast, you!
Never thought I’d see the word lust in an Animal Crossing game.

Yesterday, Blathers complained about another aspect of doing fieldwork: Finding worms in the ground!

Blathers: And then you spot it! There in the wet dirt! A vile worm! I can't stand those...The only option to continue his story was for me to call him a wimp. And when I did, he got fired up! I can’t recall seeing Blathers mad like this before!

Blathers: Hoo? I...beg your pardon? Why, just think about it! The horror! The repugnance!Today, Rhonda thought she was a comedian.

Rhonda: When acorn season hits, Forest transforms into acorn-ucopia! Get it?And I found an odd “Talking to Myself” message posted to the bulletin board. What exactly is going on in the kids’ section of the library??

-Talking to Myself- I'm very popular in the kids' section of the library... Sigh... Oh, Pete...

Throughout the week, I’ve been collecting acorns every day and taking them to Cornimer. In addition to the rewards he gave me on the first day, he has since given me a mush dresser, mush closet, mush stand, mush table, mush TV, mush bed, forest wall, and forest floor. Here’s a look at the full set.

The full mush furniture set you earn from Cornimer during the Acorn Festival in Animal Crossing: Wild World.

I wrapped up my day by making a 68,000 bell mortgage payment at town hall.

As of yesterday, I’ve been playing Wild World for a full year now. (Want to see my first entry?) It’s safe to say that the Acorn Festival is my favorite festival in the game…although I wish it didn’t take me six days to complete the mush set. Still, it’s the only festival in the game that really feels like a traditional Animal Crossing festival to me.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Bright Nights too. But it’s really just something cool to look at, and there’s not much you can actually do. So I’m glad I was finally able to participate in the Acorn Festival after all these years.

If you haven’t collected all 230 acorns you need for the full set, you still have tomorrow (Sunday) to pick another batch. Good luck to those who are still collecting acorns! 🙂

Here is a video showing the Acorn Festival.
