Seeking Saharah

I knew Saharah was in town today, so I made sure to play. First I ran into Wisp, who asked me to find his spirits scattered across town. But I didn’t have time for that.

I asked Copper where Saharah was, he told me B-2. I went there and talked to her. She reminded me that I needed to trade-in a carpet to get a new one. Great. I didn’t have any spare carpets on me, but I remembered I saw one buried on the island, so I took a quick trip to the island to get it.

Once I got back, Saharah was no longer in B-2. I went back to Copper, who told me she was in acre D-1 now. I went to talk to her. The good thing about Saharah on GameCube is that she tells you which carpet you’re trading for. If you don’t like what she offers, just decline and you can talk to her again to get her to offer a different carpet. It took me 6 or 7 tries, but she finally offered what I needed–the tropical floor. I needed it for my island room.

I still need the tropical vista from Wendell, so I’ll keep checking to see when he comes next. Unfortunately, he doesn’t give you a choice of what wallpaper you get. But I have an ace up my sleeve if it doesn’t work out…another character in my town has the tropical vista. So I can borrow it if I have to. But I don’t have all the island furniture items yet anyway, so it’s a moot point for now.

Bluebear Out, Peanut In

I played a little Animal Crossing tonight. Bliuebear has moved out, and Peanut has moved in. I talked to Copper, who informed me that Saharah would be in town on Friday. I also made one trip to the island, but I didn’t get any new island furniture. I did make over 50,000 bells though.

After depositing my money in the bank, I ran past the dump (nothing good in there) and then fell into a well-concealed pitfall. Nobody was around to witness it, so I’ll pretend it never happened. Unless a video of it eventually ends up on Youtube. How embarrassing that would be.

Spring Cleaning, Car Cleaning, and Windsocks

In the world of Animal Crossing, May 1 is Spring Cleaning Day…which is one of those (very) minor holidays. If you catch Tortimer by the wishing well, he will give you a dump model. And that’s about it, other than animals mentioning the fact that it’s Spring Cleaning Day.

Emerald: I hope you're doing a good job cleaning your place out, Jeff.I was tired of wearing the mint gingham, so I went in Nook’s and bought a checkered shirt.

Timmy: Would you care to try it on? Also, early May is when fish-shaped windsocks will be flying where some of the sign posts usually are.

Windsocks blowing in the wind.I made my way to the island, where Ankha also referenced it being Spring Cleaning Day. I did the usual Animal Island thing and got two new island items, the life ring and ukulele!

Ankha: Spring Cleaning Day used to be called The Great Annual Dust Bunny Roundup.I was about to call it a day when I remembered Gracie was supposed to be in town today. After asking Copper where she is, I went to acre C-4 to wash her car. I know a lot of people have trouble pressing the A button fast enough to clean her car perfectly and get the Gracie fashions, but I do it at least 95% of the time. I guess playing button-mashing games like Mario Party in the past gave me quick fingers. 😛

Anyway, I got the shirt circuit. If I had remembered Gracie would be in town when I first started, I wouldn’t have bought that new shirt from Nookington’s. Oh well.

Gracie: Oh, it's spotless! Nice job, darling.Gracie: I'm through with you! Shoo!
