Olivia’s Return

Kiki has moved out of town. I got her goodbye letter in the mail today.

Kiki's goodbye letter. There was a mosquito over by Static’s house. It was following me, and Static was following the mosquito. So I danced around for a while, avoiding the mosquito and letting it chase me around a sign post. But eventually I just got my net out and caught the little bugger.

I caught a mosquito! And down on the beach, I found Gulliver’s body. He wasn’t dead, just unconscious. I woke him up and he gave me a matryoshka.

Gulliver: I was mopping the poop deck and fell overboard. The daily glowing spot was nearby, and I dug it up. Lucky me, it gave 10,000 bells today!

Check it out! I dug up 10,000 bells! As I continued my walk, I fell into a pitfall! That’s actually a fairly rare occurrence in this game. Pitfalls may be common in City Folk and New Leaf, but they’re quite uncommon on GameCube.

Struggling to get out of a pitfall.Eventually, I made my way up to my new neighbor’s house. It’s Olivia, who has actually lived in Forest before. She’s just as pleasant as she’s always been.

Olivia: Oh, you're such a liar! After a stop at the post office, I returned home and ended my game for the night. See you all next time!

Meteor Shower Without the Meteors

I knew tonight was the night of the meteor shower, but I didn’t realize my system’s clock was several minutes fast. So by the time I took control of my character, it was already 8:59 p.m.  I had less than a minute to get to the meteor shower! I saw Candi and Static there; apparently Candi forced Static to come to the event. I know there has to be a story behind that.

Static: Candi was the one who invited me! I didn't even want to come!I also saw Sydney, Puck, and Tortimer at the event.

Puck: The meteors are falling like a...shower of...uh...meteors. Cool! But as soon as I got done talking to Puck, I got bit by a mosquito. And then…

"Meteor shower viewing has officially ended."Party’s over. Everyone instantly disappeared from the lake. I didn’t even get to the see the reflection of a single shooting star.

Anyway, I made my way around town to pull weeds and talk to villagers. Kiki was sleeping outside her house, so I woke her up.

Kiki: Thanks for waking me up, kittycat. When I talked to Static, he gave me a free cherry (foreign fruit).

Static: I ate one, and it was a tasty cherry. Trust me.Down on the beach, I saw Gulliver washed up on the shore. I woke him up and he gave me a Moai statue.

Gulliver: It was pirates! Or sharks again. Something like that. After that, I made a stop at the post office and then returned home for the night.

Bitty Out, Kiki In

I got a goodbye letter in the mail from Bitty. She has moved out of Forest.

Bitty's goodbye letter. And I went to meet my new neighbor, Kiki!

Kiki: Pleased to meet you! I'm Kiki.I’ve had Kiki in my City Folk town before. Despite her odd appearance, I actually like her a lot.

Over by Tom’s house, Sydney was standing there, furious. I have no idea why she was so mad.

Sydney: Ooh! Why? What did I ever do to deserve this? And at the wishing well, Baabara wanted to sell me a mystery item for 16,903 bells. No way! She’s trying to fleece me!

Baabara: Decide if you'll pay 16,903 bells for improved decor! After I said no, she called me an insufferable wimp and told me the item would have been a lovely armchair. I wouldn’t have bought that for 100 bells.

Genji asked me for a new catchphrase. I had him say “& monkeys.”

Genji: Marry me, & monkeys! After that, I stopped at the post office to mail away some fossils. I still had a bunch of weeds remaining, so I went around town and picked all that I could find. I then went to the wishing well to make sure my town status was back to perfect.

Everything is perfect! Forest is a very liveable place. That’s all for today, but I’ll see you all next time!
