Cleo Out, Astrid In

Back in Forest once again, I got a goodbye letter from Cleo.

Cleo's goodbye letter.I went to meet my new neighbor, Astrid the kangaroo.

Astrid: So what's your name? Yelly Von Hollerlots? It was late at night by the time I played, so Nookington’s was already closed. So I went around town pulling weeds and digging up buried items. Most of those items were fossils, but I also dug up a white queen.

Check it out! I dug up a white queen!I found the daily money rock and stopped by the police station. Copper let me know that Gracie would be in town on Tuesday.

Copper: On March 27th, we'll be running out B.I.P. campaign: Bust Illegal Parkers!

Back to Ohio

This week, instead of posting my usual update from my town Forest, I’m doing something different. Some of you may remember my second town, Ohio, from my Train Ride video on Youtube. I rarely play the game in that town, so I decided to check on it today. Apparently, it’s my first time playing there in almost two years. Here is a picture of Ohio’s town map:

Ohio town map.My villagers there are Freckles, Lulu, Yuka, Nate, Deena, Chief, Teddy, Chuck, Leopold, Cleo, and Lucy. Several of them were previously residents of Forest, who moved when I took train rides between towns. I know Freckles, Yuka, Teddy, and Cleo used to live in Forest. It seems like Nate may have as well, but I’m not 100% sure about him. I believe Chief may have been one of Ohio’s original residents from when I first started the town.

As expected with a town that hasn’t been played in a long time, there are lots of weeds everywhere.

Lots of weeds on the ground.I stopped to speak to all the animals, including Freckles:

Freckles: What on earth have you been doing for 21 months?I also took the time to admire Ohio’s cool waterfall.

Ohio's southeast facing, semi-enclosed waterfall.A chat with Yuka quickly reminded me how much I hated her when she lived in Forest.

Yuka: You insufferable wimp!I went into Chief’s house and saw the largest collection of clocks I’ve ever seen.

Chief's house of clocks. And even though I played in Ohio 21 months ago, I apparently didn’t talk to Deena that day. It had been over four years since I spoke to her!

Deena: You don't think I'd forget about you after just 50 months, do you?And with that, I was done with my tour of Ohio. I’m sure I’ll revisit it again sometime, but probably not for a while. I hope you enjoyed this rare look into my other town. I’ll be back to regular Forest updates next time.

Big Money & Teleporting Hank

I dug up the daily glowing spot and found a surprise. Instead of the usual 1,000 bells, I got 30,000 bells! Sweet.

Check it out! I dug up 30,000 bells!I went around talking to some of my animals, and Belle told me to build a library for her. Sure, I’ll get right on that.

Belle: I don't care if you have to sell your house to do it, but build me a library! In a rare act of kindness, Static thanked me for being a friend and gave me a green table for free.

Static: I don't know why you're always so nice to me, but I got you something to say thanks.I found the daily money rock and got the full seven bags for 13,300 bells.

Hitting the money rock.I saw Tom Hanks Tom and Hank at the bottom of the cliff, near Tom’s house.Tom and Hank outdoors. But then I immediately ran up the ramp, and at the top of the cliff, Hank was already there!

Hank on the cliff. After depositing some money in the bank at the post office, I headed for home.
