Twiggy Moves In

As I started the game up tonight, I saw that cherry blossom petals were falling from the sky. Even though ACCF doesn’t have a Cherry Blossom Festival like the GameCube game, the pink petals certainly make the town look pretty.

Pink cherry blossom petals fall from the night sky in Animal Crossing: City Folk.Broccolo clued me in to the fact that Saharah was in town. He said he gave her a rug with juice and food stains on it, and she still gladly took it.

Broccolo: Saharah is sooo nice. She took my rug, even though it was stained with fruit juice and food!I quickly tracked down Saharah, and she told me she was looking for old wallpaper this time. So why would she take Broccolo’s rug? Could he be lying to me?

As I began asking around for wallpaper, I spotted a new house where Chrissy lived not too long ago. Inside, I found Twiggy the bird, who still hadn’t unpacked her belongings.

Twiggy: Sniiiiiiiiff! Ahhhhhh... You gotta LOVE the smell of a new house! My wallpaper search wasn’t going well. It seemed like everyone was turning me down, including Angus.

Angus: Sorry, I'm no help. If you're starting a collection, I'll start saving my garbage for you, toasty!Eventually, I ran into Broccolo again. He actually had some old wallpaper for me.

Broccolo: Sure, you can have my old wallpaper! I was using it to see if my spaghetti was done, so it's kinda messy.Fang was feeling under the weather, so I bought some medicine for him. Surprisingly, it didn’t spill out, despite him flipping upside down with his mouth wide open.

Fang flips upside-down (with his mouth open) as he takes some cold medicine.None of my other villagers had any wallpaper for me, so I put the one in storage with a previous one I already had. City Folk makes it so hard to get Saharah’s carpets and wallpapers; it’s so much easier in New Leaf and the GameCube game.

A Favor for Bunnie

Bunnie was being very complimentary tonight, and of course there was a reason for it: She wanted a favor from me.

Bunnie: Oh! It's my most favorite person EVER! Yeah, I want something. Was I too obvious, toasty? She asked me to make a delivery to Frobert. I found Frobert not too far away, so I handed him the item (a vertigo shirt) and I headed back to Bunnie. She rewarded me with a library wall.

I went to the Roost to check out a musical performance from K.K. Slider. I let him play a random song, and he chose K.K. Western.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Western. In Lily’s house, my favorite frog was singing a town tune she last heard in her previous hometown of Tropical. She likes that it reminds her of her old life, in a pond.

Lily: Now that I've moved, it still haunts me, but it's nice to be reminded of my old life, in a pond!Outside, I made the mistake of shaking a tree. A swarm of bees came at me, and I quickly grabbed my net. But I temporarily forgot that you can’t hold in the button (like you can on GameCube and New Leaf) and then release it when you’re ready to swing. So my swing was far too early and the bees got me.

I got stung by a bee! Ow! Ow ow ow!On the bulletin board, a message was posted to remind everyone that tomorrow is Easter–known as Bunny Day in the world of Animal Crossing.

~ Notice ~ Tomorrow, April 5th, is the day Zipper T. Bunny comes to town! Get your shovel ready and see you in front of the town hall!I don’t plan on playing ACCF tomorrow (although I will be participating in New Leaf). But I hope you all have a Happy Easter and a successful Bunny Day. If you’re interested, here is a video of Bunny Day that I recorded back in 2009. My town looked quite different back then, and the villagers were different too. But it will give you a taste of what Bunny Day is all about. See you next time!

Hanging with Resetti

Now that April is here, some of the trees in town are pink from the cherry blossoms. They’ll be around for the next week or so. Unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be a lot of them around town. This was the only spot I could find with two of them close to each other.

A night picture of Forest showing two pink trees.Angus was telling me about how people will try to tell him to hold his tools. Uhh…

Angus: A lot of outdoorsy types are real sticklers about how you're supposed to hold your tools. He said it’s not just about grip, it’s also about being close enough to strike. At this point, the awkward conversation was making me feel uncomfortable.

Angus: It's not just about grip. It's also about getting close enough to strike, toasty!
Please don’t strike me.

After circling around town, I took the bus to the city. I saw the cones moved out of the way, which allowed me to enter the Reset Surveillance Center.

The open entrance to the Reset Surveillance Center.Resetti was inside, ranting about how people should talk about their problems. As opposed to yelling at someone for resetting, perhaps?

Resetti: It feels good to let that out, same as when ya belch. Ya shouldn't keep it in.I caught him a rare mood where he actually wanted to keep talking. There were no resetting emergencies to cause him to leave, and he didn’t yell at me to get out. He started talking about his kid, and how he hasn’t seen him or her for a whole week. I didn’t even realize he had a kid!

Resetti: Ya know, I just realized I haven't seen my kid's face in a whole week. That just ain't right. As I continued talking to him, he gave me permission to finish the pizza he left! I was wondering about that pizza the last time I was in here. But unfortunately, it looks like the same slice that was there last month. I think I’ll pass this time.

Resetti: Hey, there's some leftover pizza around here, so make sure ya eat it, all right?
