Marina’s Squid

I played on Sunday, and I received a cute letter from Mint in the mail. It was about the game of hide-and-seek that we played last week.

To Jeff, Thanks for playing hide-and-seek with us earlier. It's nice to just play like a kid sometimes, isn't it? -From: Mint

She sent me a metal guitar as my prize for winning the game.

It was Easter Sunday (aka Bunny Day), so I had a chat with the one-and-only Zipper T. Bunny.

Zipper: boingity boing! Hello there!

I dug up all the bunny eggs I could find. Some had candy inside, and others had bunny foils. I found 11 of the 12 bunny foils, and I redeemed them for egg furniture. (I didn’t worry about the one I missed.) I sold the 11 items for a total of 98,888 bells. 💰

But Antonio was more concerned with the rain, and the mud it was creating. He apparently wanted to wrestle someone in the mud!

Antonio: It's getting nice and muddy around here! Now, if someone would volunteer to let me tackle them in it...

Today, I received a goodbye letter in the mail from the horse that recently depart-Ed.

Yo, Jeff, This is it, my last day in Forest! Living here made me realize just how burly I really am. Tell everyone thanks for being so scrawny!

Robin was feeling sick…and unpretty. I gave her a dose of medicine to help with the cold. As for being unpretty, she’s on her own there.

Robin: P-p-please. never felt so... unpretty. Qu-qu-quickly...

Monty told me that he recently visited Nana, and he said she’s quite a good cook! He particularly loved the garlic bread that was drowned in green onion(s)? I’m not sure about the onions, but whatever floats your garlic bread, man.

Monty: The garlic bread I had was just drowned in green onion. What a taste sensation, monk monk!

Marina surprised me by asking me for a squid! Was she looking for a new cousin? It took me way too long to track one town, but I did track one down eventually.

Marina: Oh! A squid!

She only rewarded me with 528 bells, but I guess it was okay. Because during my search, I also caught a few barred knifejaws and red snappers, which are worth a few thousand bells apiece.

Later on, I went up to the Roost for K.K.’s Saturday night show. I asked him for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Country” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Country.

Since the fish I caught earlier got me close to a new savings milestone, I gathered up a few loads of fruit to add to it. My balance has now reached 67 million bells.

Your current balance is 67,000,000 bells.

See you next time!

Ed’s Early Exit

A message posted to the bulletin board today reminded me that Bunny Day is coming up tomorrow. I like how it says to “get your shovel ready,” as if we’re going to be attacking Zipper T. Bunny with our shovels…and then possibly burying him. Oh, wait, maybe that’s just me? 😆

4/19/2025 ~Notice~ Tomorrow, April 20th, is the day Zipper T. Bunny comes to town! Get your shovel ready and see you in front of the town hall!

When I visited Ed, I was surprised to find he was all packed up and ready to leave town!

Ed: Whoa! Jeff?! I was trying to move out in secret, but you must've heard my muscles flexing.

He has only lived here for three weeks, so he barely had enough time to unpack his hay! 😉 I guess he couldn’t stirrup the will to stay. But three weeks is the same length of time that his predecessor Groucho spent here. I guess the new guys must not like it here for some reason.

At the Roost tonight, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. That worked out well, because he played “Steep Hill” for me; one of my favorites!

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Steep Hill.

After the show, Mint asked me to play a game of hide and seek with her. She gave me ten minutes to find her, Big Top, and Nana. I found Mint very quickly, right behind Marina’s house. The other two took me a few minutes, because they were both in the northeast part of town (near the museum). I seemed to scare Nana when I found her. 😛

Nana: Eek!

With that, I won the game…but Mint swore that it was the last time she’d ever lose to me.

Mint: Maybe you are pretty good at hide-and-seek, after all. But...that's the LAST time I lose to you!

My pockets were full, so she’s going to send my prize in the mail.

Bunny Day is coming up tomorrow! I’m not sure if I’ll play or not, but it is a fairly easy way to make about 100k. Feel free to check out my Bunny Day Guide for more info! Have a Happy Easter and I’ll see you next time!

Chip’s Fish Market?

Yesterday, I ran into Phineas in the city. He gave me a yellow balloon, and then I chatted with a yellow rabbit…my old buddy Gaston.

Gaston, in the city: I came by to check out the auction house. It's nice to keep an eye out for bargains there.
No one bids like Gaston.

Today, Chip was hosting the April fishing tournament. You could catch any type of fish you wanted, but it needs to be big.

Antonio: Today's the fishing tourney! Any kind of dish is OK, as long as you catch a humongous one!

Felicity wondered if Chip runs a fish market, since that would explain his need for all of these fish.

Felicity: I wonder if he runs a fish market... Ohmigosh, that would make PERFECT SENSE!
Let me guess, it’s called Fish ‘n’ Chip’s.

That might sound like a good story, until you realize that Chip immediately eats all the fish you give him. So there’s nothing left that would make it to market.

I caught a zebra turkeyfish and gave it to Chip, but it was only 9.6 inches long. The current record was a 41.1-inch sea bass that Felicity caught, so I went back to fish more. A couple minutes later, I caught a sea bass. It measured 46.1 inches, so I took over the top spot. Chip gave me a caladium as my prize.

Chip: And of course, the prize... A caladium! Yes! All for you!

I returned later tonight to find a letter from Chip in the mail. He confirmed that I won the tournament, and he sent me a gold trophy.

Results Announcement: The big winner of the April 12th, 2025, fishing tourney is Jeff's 46-inch sea bass! You're number one! -From Chip

I then made my way over to the Roost. I asked K.K. Slider for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Waltz” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Waltz.

Between Able Sisters and Big Top’s house, I fell into a pitfall that was hidden by a tree! Big Top must’ve planted it there for me! Well if so, he got me. 😛

Me, struggling to get out of a pitfall in Animal Crossing: City Folk (ACCF) for Nintendo Wii.

Here are a few other quick notes about yesterday and today:

  • Yesterday, I found a Spaceman Sam & a mega howloid in the recycle bin.
  • Ed asked me to catch a common butterfly for him, so I did. He rewarded me with 528 bells.
  • Tonight, I delivered a manor wall from Big Top to Monty. Big Top also gave me 528 bells.

See you next week!
