Fang Raised by Wolves

On Monday night, Antonio told me he was planning on moving out of town. But I told him to stay, and he agreed…even though he didn’t exactly like me telling him what to do.

Antonio: Well, up my nose... That...that stinks! But fine, I get it!
It stinks up your nose? Or that’s just where you smell it?

In another part of town, I saw a scorpion casually fall off a cliff, and act like nothing happened! I was able to walk over and catch it without a problem. That’s not something I see every day.

When I ran into Antonio again, he was talking about something his friend showed him, that made him jealous. Um, what?

Antonio: AGGHHH! One of my buds was showing his off to me the other day, and it made me so jealous, I went feral!

Fortunately, he was talking about a saw stag beetle. He wanted to buy one that I had in my pockets, and I agreed to sell it to him for 1,644 bells.

Down closer to the beach, I saw a bug on a tree…but it was obscured by another tree, and I wasn’t sure what it was. Biskit was walking close to it, so I tried to catch it before Biskit scared it away. It ended up being a golden stag (my favorite)! I’m glad I caught it in time!

Jeff, after catching a golden stag: Whoa!!

My Monday night bug hunt netted me 250k in an hour of playing. As for my savings total balance, I’ve decided not to give updates on it until the summer is over. I’m certainly going to meet and exceed my original goal, and I already have another goal in mind. But I’d rather have it be a surprise at the end of the summer.

On Tuesday night, Monty thought he was sharing some shocking news when he told me that Fang was raised by wolves. And normally I’d accuse him of telling me a pack of lies. But Fang is a wolf, so this isn’t exactly surprising. Nice try though, Monty. 😛

Monty: Take Fang, for example. Did you know he was raised by wolves?

My Tuesday night bug hunt netted me another 300k in an hour and a half.

I didn’t play again until today. At the Roost tonight, I asked for a random song. K.K. performed “K.K. Dirge” for me. It’s a little early for spooky music season, so I’m not sure if this was just a grave mistake, or if K.K. is getting a monster head start on Halloween.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Dirge.

Marina was the latest villager to want out of town, but I told her to stick around. It took several attempts, but I was eventually able to change her mind.

Marina: What's wrong with me?! The answer is so obvious! I'm going to stay, blurp!

I went on my third bug hunt of the week tonight. In a 70-minute session, I earned over 210,000 bells.

If you enjoy the bug hunting videos, I posted a Wild World one earlier today. Check it out if you’re interested, here.

Letter from Mudder

The July Bug-Off was held today, but I played too late in the day to participate. However, Nat was kind enough to tell me the results. Big Top was the big winner, with a 68-point jewel beetle. Congrats, big guy!

Nat: The 68-point jewel beetle caught by Big Top from right here in Forest.

Mom sent me a somewhat gross letter in the mail. I don’t need to hear about mud in your toes, Mom.

Dear Jeff, Your father and I decided to go for a swim out in the pond. Turns out it's a lot muddier than it looks. I have mud in my toes, -Mom
Father was a mudder. Mother was a mudder.

I also received a letter from Marina, who is now over her cold. She sent me a ranch tea table to thank me for the medicine I gave her last week.

When I ran into Nana, she said she just got a jade econo-chair, and she thought I was looking for one last week! Of course I wasn’t, but she tried to say she got me mixed up with some other human. She hasn’t even met another human, so that’s not possible. 😛

Nana: Oh, shoot! Did I get you confused with someone else? You humans all look the same to me!

At the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed “K.K. Western” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Western.

After that, I did a little bug hunting. In the southwest corner of town, I spotted two goliath beetles right next to each other! That doesn’t happen too often with rare bugs!

Two goliath beetles wait to be captured on adjacent trees.
Of course, I caught them both.

As I continued hunting bugs, I also saw a nighttime balloon present. I shot down and found a toilet inside!

I played for over an hour, and I ended up making about 215,000 bells on the night. Even though this was my only bug hunt of the week, I’m still well on place to exceed my summer savings goal.

Anyway, I recently posted a Youtube Shorts video (one minute long) that’s a montage of many of the special characters in ACCF. I hope you’ll give it a watch:

Fang-Tastic Lineup

Pascal was in town Wednesday, so I gave him a scallop. After wondering where pepper comes from (since salt comes from the ocean), he jumped into the river.

Pascal jumped into the river.

I followed him to the waterfall and watched him go over the falls.

Pascal goes over the waterfall in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Moments later, I spotted a new house in town. Robin’s replacement has moved in, and it’s none other than Fang the wolf! Pretty cool!

Fang: Wait a minute, who are you? Were you in one of these boxes? Oh, you live in this town?

This town has actually become quite a good collection of villagers. I currently have Biskit, Marina, Fang, Big Top, Rosie, Nana, Mint, Antonio, Felicity, and Monty. Those last two may be mid, but I like everyone else. And there’s nobody that I strongly dislike. Can’t complain about this lineup!

Felicity told me she’s not into bugs in general, but she does love the cute bugs! I’m not sure which ones those would be, though.

Felicity: I'm out here catching bugs to complete my field guide of totally cute insects.

I later had an 80-minute bug-hunting session, and I’ve since posted a gameplay video of that session. If you’d like, you can watch that on Youtube.

I played again today, and a dog without eyes met me at the top of the ramp, telling me he was waiting for to come outside!

Biskit: I was waiting for you to come outside and play, dumbbell!

It almost sounds a bit threatening if you don’t know Biskit. 😛

Over by the museum, Monty gave me a free pep squad shirt. I didn’t necessarily want it, but I can always sell it.

Monty: Feel free to do whatever you want with it, it's poop.

Down at the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed “K.K. Rally” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Rally.

Marina has been sick with a cold this week, so I gave her some medicine Wednesday and today. Get well soon, Marina!

While I didn’t specifically go on a bug hunt tonight, I did manage (somehow) to catch two tarantulas and an arapaima within 60 seconds!

And right before I wrapped up my game, Big Top asked me for a new catchphrase. I told him to say “528 bells,” which may eventually pay off.

Big Top: Thanks for the rockin' catchphrase, 528 bells!

For those who don’t know, 528 bells is a common reward for completing a favor for a villager. So stay tuned!
