Mint’s Hand-Me-Down

On Thursday, Biskit sent me a letter telling me he was over his cold. He sent me a caladium to thank me for the medicine I gave him last week.

My rare catches haven’t been limited to nighttime bugs; I caught a banded dragonfly in the afternoon yesterday!

Did you see that? Did you? I caught a banded dragonfly!

I spotted Saharah in town, and she was looking for old carpeting. I started asking around, and Mint was the first to give me one. But she was adamant that I shouldn’t tell anyone about it for some reason.

Mint: If word gets out, that'll be the last hand-me-down you get from me!
You know Felicity is right behind you, right?
With her big ears, you know she hears you.

Biskit also had an old carpet to give me, and he was much nicer about it. He was very happy to be able to help out!

Biskit: Isn't it funny how old carpets make you, me, and Saharah all happy? It's like they're magic carpets!

None of my other villagers were able to help out, though. Fortunately, I had an old flooring in storage. I took the three of them over to Saharah, and she gave me a concrete floor in return. That’s always a hard thing to accept.

I played last night to hunt some bugs, and Marina asked me for a new catchphrase. I told her to say “I’m afraid,” although I’m not yet sure how this will work out. Hopefully she’ll use it in some funny ways in the coming weeks.

Marina: ...It's decided, then! From now on, I'm going to say I'm afraid!

Monty wanted to trade a skull shirt for my fruit beetle, and I agreed to the trade. I don’t care about fruit beetles. But his catchphrase made it sound like he was handing me his poop. 💩

Monty: OK, first things first. Take this off my hands, it's pooop!
On second thought, you can keep it.

Today, I gave out another new catchphrase, this time to Felicity. I told her to say “in my tea.” We’ll have to wait and tea how that one turns out too.

Later on, I attended K.K. Slider’s concert at the Roost. I asked for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Mambo” for me. It may not be one of the more popular songs, but it’s a pretty good song.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Mambo.

I found a doghouse in the recycle bin at town hall. Even though it looked a bit ruff, I took it so I can give it a new leash on life. 🐶

I went on another late-night bug hunt tonight, but it was a relatively short session (at least compared my other ones lately). But I still made about 170k on the night. There’s still three weeks to go in peak bug season, and I’ll have to go on a bug hunt during a fireworks festival this month. It may not be this weekend, though.
