Avocado Argument

On Monday night, Nana was talking about the upcoming Bug-Off. She warned me that she doesn’t like to lose…not to a bug, and not to me. 😛

Nana: And I should warn you, I don't like to lose. Not to a bug, and not to you! So watch yourself!

There seemed to be a lot of giant beetles out that night. In fact, five of the first seven bugs I caught were giant beetles! That was very unusual!

My first seven bugs caught on Monday night, including five giant beetles.

Fang told me he was planning on moving out of town, and he even packed in an accidental wolf pun! 🐺

Fang: We'll just have to pack in some extra time together before I take off.

However, I was able to get him to change his mind and stick around a little longer.

Felicity used her new catchphrase in a fitting manner, talking about how she likes to gossip. ☕

Felicity: I'm like a gossip MACHINE, in my tea, and I'm running 24/7!

On Tuesday night, I listened in on a conversation between Marina and Biskit. Marina was wondering if avocados were fruits or vegetables.

Marina: Are avocados fruits or vegetables?

Biskit didn’t know and didn’t care. As long as a food tastes good, he doesn’t care about such labels. The conversation left Marina depressed, and Biskit cheerful. 😛

Today, the August Bug-Off was held…although I played too late to participate. Nat told me that Rosie won, with a 68-point jewel beetle. But as I was still talking to Nat, Rosie showed up and pinged me. Now she wanted to move out of town! Nat-urally, I told her not to go.

Rosie: All right! You changed my mind! I'll stick around and save us BOTH the tears, la-di-da!

I saw a huge fish shadow in the river, and I cast my fishing rod. It took the bait and bit on the first attempt, and I pressed the button to reel in an arapaima. I was very lucky though, because my batteries went dead right after it bit down! If it had taken even just one more nibble, it would have gotten away. After that, I immediately swapped in some new batteries. Close call!

When I went to visit Big Top, he was talking about his outfit (the guard uniform that Wendell designed). He said it makes him want to shake a leg and bust a move, in a coma!

Big Top: It's so rockin', it makes me wanna shake a leg and bust a move, in a coma.

That is a recent catchphrase I gave him, and it might be hard to do those things if he was actually in a coma. Be careful what you wish for, big guy!

Up at the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed “K.K. Cruisin'” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Cruisin'.

Over at town hall, I found a lovely lamp in the recycle bin.

I might participate in the fireworks festival tomorrow, although I probably won’t be posting a blog entry tomorrow. Lately, I’ve been playing at least three nights a week to get plenty of bug hunts in. But there may be some fireworks screenshots in the next entry, whichever day it may arrive on. See you soon!
