Today is Halloween, and I started out shortly after 5 p.m. by using my Guest character to drop 10-12 pieces of candy for my main character, Jeff. Once I switched over, I checked my mail and put on my newly-arrived pirate costume from Tom Nook. Fortunately, it was in shipshape condition. Tom Nook really hooked me up with a great costume. 🏴☠️
I then made my rounds, making sure to trap any villagers who were outdoors.

After I trapped the five outdoor villagers, I spotted a giant petaltail dragonfly. Despite having many opportunities at close range, I simply could not catch the darn thing.

I gave up my search once I realized it was time for the villagers’ transformations at 6:00 p.m. Here’s a GIF of one villager scooting into his Jack costume.

And with that, the Halloween event was on! I began searching for Jack, giving him candy in exchange for spooky furniture. I also did a little trick-or-treating to get some extra candy from my villagers.

I took a break at one point, but I hunted down Jack over and over, for about an hour and a half in total.

I found him a total of 26 times, and I sold those 26 spooky items for a total of 268,060 bells.
I didn’t realize this until just now, when I checked my blog entries from the past two years… But in 2023 and 2024, I also collected exactly 26 spooky items (which of course sold for the same amount, 268,060 bells). It certainly wasn’t planned, and I didn’t have any certain limit in mind (in items or time played), so it’s weird that I just happened to stop at 26 items three years in a row. 😮 Now that is a spooky coincidence!
I recently posted a video taking a look back at some previous Halloweens throughout the Animal Crossing series (which of course includes plenty of City Folk clips). If you’d like to take a look back through some of those Halloween memories, here is the video:
Happy Halloween, everyone! 🎃 I’ll be back with another entry next week. Hope to see you then!
